Bills Sign former Titan OT/OG David Quessenberry
Mr. WEO replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall
lol, I'm sure they have their opinion on RB at 25 well before they picked up this guy on a 1 Year Special. But RB certainly possible. -

The Titans clearly believe their RB, not their Tackles, are the key to their running success. This is overwhelmingly likely. -

Need a guy who can keep Josh unmolested. Can't all give up 11 sacks either. -

New Bills stadium deal is bad for taxpayers, according to Yahoo!

thanks. I suspected so but defer to you to confirm that’s likely the case my guess is PSE commissioned the study so it could be dismissed immediately as an option. -
about Spring football? Exactly…

I asked how your assessment regarding the cost of an extensive refurbishment (e.g. Arrowhead) as opposed to demolitionof the Ralph/new build differs from that of the firm PSE hired to assess for the same. You didn’t offer one. -

I swear I am not trying to confuse you. I’ve made and repeated my point several times, to which you have responded. Not sure where I just lost you, but not sure what to add. -
I criticized them for adapting a sure fail format of showing games in the middle of nowhere in front of no one. You called that a smart plan because it saves money. I laughed at that suggestion You said that’s criticizing them for “saving money”. Lol Considering the massive uphill climb each of these leagues have (over and over), pinching pennies on inauguration sounds more like hedging losses than saving money. Do you think potential advertisers are eager to buy ad time for this level of ball played in front of empty stadiums? Do fans at home feel like it’s a legit watch if free tickets won’t even get people to go? simple questions.

I’m no engineer, that’s for sure. Instead, as posted above, I was quoting PSE leadership who was quoting the firm that assessed the current stadium. They said it could be done for the price they mentioned. Why don’t either of you tell us all how your survey of that property came to the opposite conclusion that theirs did. -
no this league is doomed anyway. But this decision is going to hasten the end. Empty stadiums in the middle of the Deep South without a penchant for pro football with empty stands in every camera shot 4 games in a row every weekend. the advertisers should be running to the network ad sales offices
-
This is a bad decision for 2 reasons: 1. if only people in and around Birmingham come to the games, the cities the teams are ostensibly "from" have no real fan base. No reason to follow the team. 2. if the league is depending on people in and around Birmingham filling the stands for every game every week, there will be endless images of nearly empty stadiums on TV for entire games. This will affect the impression of all but the most hopeless football junkie in that fewer people will continue to watch bad football played in front of a noiseless/nonexistent crowd. Ratings have to plummet and who wants to buy ad space for that? This has been proven meaningless during the last (XFL) fiasco. Local ratings aren't going to keep any league afloat. Plus, networks pay for content--lots of programming slots to fill. NBA brings 82 games a year for every team. Plus every team has fans/viewers outside of the home town viewing radius.

Perseveration is often the first sign, doc... Anyway, 7.5 years ago, any issues with the structure were well known when Pegula bought the place. Yet, despite the well documented FACT that it is "about to collapse", it has been deemed safe for use until at least 4 years from now, whenever the new place is finished. Maybe you and boater can position yourselves outside the gates for each home gate until then, warning people against entering the teetering wreck. Anyway, PSE (based on engineers' report) recently said it would cost a billion to renovate the current stadium---if you disagree, take it up with them. However, we can assume it would have been significantly less if planned 7.5 years ago. -

when it was feasible would have been some years ago. Your histrionics over impending “collapse” helps you obscure the obvious. Pointing out that it now is beyond repair is meaningless for the purpose of this discussion. Other major remodeling projects didn’t wait so long as 50 years you both know, so you understand. -
So when Indy had years of top Defenses, they were paper tigers. When NE has it they were very good Defenses? Nah. Manning's high flying Offense? Brady's Offense was top 10 for 18 of his 19 seasons. 8 top 3's and 3 #1's. At age 44 he was the top QB in the NFL last season (by 300 yards). He's averaged over 4600 yards the past 10 years (since his mid 30's. The bolded were JAGS/creations of Brady. Hernandez? lol, he really killed it for one season...

College ball has been around far longer than the NFL

about to collapse? No. The fact that games were safe enough to hold a full crowd only months ago renders that ridiculous. but if you read my post a little more closely, you would see I said “when it was feasible to do so”. You even quoted it lol wtf -
history has proven over and over that this football crazed country has no appetite for non NFL pro football.

Colts only SB with Manning they were ranked 21 on D. He only had 2 seasons where his D was worse than that. In 2007, Colts D was #3 (#1 in yards). One and done in beautiful San Diego. In 5 of his Colts' playoff seasons, the D was ranked #8, 7, 7, 1, 2, 1---and 4 times one and done, despite very good Defenses. Brady had a lot of very good Defenses, not a lot of weapons on Offense (who's the best RB? Best WR other than a bit of Moss?)---and he won 6 rings. Headed home after 1 playoff game 7 times.

Report circulating that Apple will be 2023 home to Sunday Ticket
Mr. WEO replied to Ned Flanders's topic in The Stadium Wall
you're halfway there! lol -
You've just described everyone on this board. Manning was great, but he was on stacked Offenses in Indy with 1 ring to show. His Colts made the playoffs 11 of his 12 seasons and had an unbelievable 7 (out of 11) one and done playoff years. His second ring came with an awful performance--on another team. Go look at the Offensive rosters Brady was winning Lombardi's with before Gronk showed up. Rodgers should have had the last 2 Packers teams in the SB. Instead, 39 regular season wins over the last 3 seasons.....2 playoff wins.
