  1. Tre White was killin it right off the bus his rookie year. Why not the same for Elam?
  2. Montana clearly stated his job was to keep Young or anyone else "behind him", the opposite of "mentoring". What's the hard part here?
  3. lol, not that's rich....
  4. In another thread, someone compared the 6th round Punter to Josh Allen so......why not?
  5. I don't think is true. If there is any perceived talent left in a player, he will get a spot. It's too valuable a position to leave a guy like Tannehill off your roster as a backup over this. The list of guys who have had a 9 or so year career and then bounced around for 10 more years developing rookies is pretty short. Colt McCoy comes to mind--not sure who he developed. NFL has always been a place where drug users, PED abusers, wife and child beaters, heavy drinkers/DUI'ers with any talent can find a spot on a roster. "Non-mentor" is probably further down on the list of exclusion criteria.
  6. He's going to hold out because he doesn't want to carry the ball much?
  7. It was a coaching deficit. The bolded part is funny because it's so obviously false. Before that last KC game, the Bills were on a 5 game win streak without Tre.
  8. Huge nothing of a story. A guy giving and honest take is refreshing. Favre had the same take with Rodgers. They are all going to be practicing together and in the film room/QB room together, so the rookie is going to be "mentored" by default. I'm sure he will, if asked halfway into the season, tell everyone how much Tannehill is helping him learn the game.
  9. He WAS the Ray Guy Award winner. He WAS a unanimous 1st Team All American. Not sure what you are getting at there....
  10. Leaving aside the obvious point that learning to QB a team in the NFL is a bit different than.....punting (and the fact that the Bills traded UP 5 spots to take Josh at 7), the kid was widely mocked as the 1st or second P to go. He had the best Punting season in college football history, won the Ray Guy award and was a unanimous 1st Team All American. Seems like he figured out the punting game pretty quickly.
  11. how did he drop to the 3rd P picked?
  12. There's no chance cliche stuff like this is on anyone on that team's mind once the seasons starts. They are a legit threat. This stuff is just for some drama.
  13. Jackson no doubt saw Flores's lawsuit as a great opportunity to rehab his coaching reputation, so he went all in guns blazing. He claimed he took all kinds of money to throw games---he wasn't just an awful coach after all!! Someone must have puled him aside before sitting down for the investigation interview and alerted him he might be putting himself in legal jeopardy for claiming all that bribe taking. Somehow Hue didn't read the part where Flores said he didn't take the money allegedly offered. Jackson is a clown.
  14. Hue Jackson initially agreed to talk with Mary Jo White for this investigation. Then he never showed up. He had his chance to say anything he wanted to and back it up. He had nothing. Instead, the investigation confirmed he is the worst HC in NFL history--who didn't already know that?
  15. True on Maybin. He also passed on Gronk (because of back concerns) and picked Troup--who quickly washed out....due to back issues. He hired Gailey and Marrone. Between 2010-13 (Nix GM years, the Bills won 16 games and lost 32. Not sure what you were watching. in 2014 they got up to 9 wins and wouldn't win that many again for another 3 years. Their Offense was 25th, 14th, 19th Defense was 24, 26, 22. The Levy/Jauron combo was good for 3 seasons of 7-9 football......
  16. He was a laughing stock. His 1st round picks were Maybin, Spiller, Dareus, Gilmore and EJM. He hit on Robert Woods and Gilmore. He passed on Russ Wilson ("too small") as well as Cousins, famously taking TJ Graham instead. The drafts from 2011-13 are a real treat to revisit. In points allowed, those years were 30th, 26th, 20th. They had 1 top 5 D between 2009 to 2017.
  17. i would prefer the punter who has the fewest attempts/stats.
  18. The Buddy Whaley comedy duo: we can look back on now and chuckle...
  19. They didn't collapse in those 13 seconds because of a lack of talent on the roster....
  20. Independent review confirms Hue Jackson was the worst NFL HC in its history: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/33845174/tanking-allegations-made-ex-cleveland-browns-coach-hue-jackson-substantiated-independent-review-shows
