  1. When he speaks, he speaks for the owners as a group. He doesn't make policy, he disseminates it to the public. The owners certainly aren't waiting around (2 years or 2 minutes) for Goodell to tell them what to do. They tell him to tell the public what the League has decided on any major matters. As for did he earn his salary? You are asking the wrong person. They ones who pay him feel he is obviously worth at least that much. How could this be more clear? The owners see Goodell getting lustily boo'd during the League's most popular non football event (over and over) and they sit back and marvel at how much of a bargain Goodell is. None of them have the stomach to face the public for that kind of abuse on a regular basis.
  2. No He was doing exactly what he was told to do by his employers (minus Jones and Snyder, perhaps). Goodell's job is tough because it's hard to be one who 32 others hide behind.
  3. Easy answer is the other 31 don't want to get into the business of owners voting to take away others' franchises.
  4. Is it reasonable for a player to just take the money and run, so to speak? The new contract carries no obligation on his part? Just "good for him"?
  5. Wow that guy is completely delusional. Ironically, Papa John was the one who was "taken out" over all of this...and by his own idiocy.
  6. Talented for sure. All Pro talent. "HOF talent" gets tossed around as though it is a dominant trait though. Even at that 2 year year stretch, it's hard to imagine he would be a HOFer after a 10 year (say), given how limited low population is in that group for his position.
  7. The question is if I were the Jets, who would I rather have as QB right now. I wouldn't be bothered by that. Obviously the Jets spent a high 1st round pick on Wilson--they aren't going to walk away unless he has the same type of sophomore season. Wilson and Baker are the same size. It's time to move past comparing any "raw" QB coming into the NFL as a potential Josh Allen story. If nothing else, the past 3 seasons have shown us how unlikely that is.
  8. Seriously?. Baker is a guy we all watched play ball during a stellar college career. He had a great rookie season, and in 2020 he went over 4000 yards with 30 TDs on 9 Ints and won a playoff game in a crappy football organization. Last year he was hurt. Wilson is a mediocre QB from a second tier school who looks like another 1st/2nd round Jets QB disaster to go with Darnold, Hackenberg and Gino Smith. Baker has his deficits for sure, but he's light years ahead of this kid Wilson, who looks like he's a 12 year old kid joyriding in his dad's car out there. Baker is a balls out character. Jets need that. They are one of the softest teams in the league. But the would probably need a more seasoned HC to make it work. Saleh is toatlly lost.
  9. I only buy on secondary market. someone will buy them, unless something very wrong has happened to the season...
  10. lol thanks for catching that error—certainly the only way this guy would ever get into the HOF lol. Only one season was over 7.5 sacks. He would have been a great Buffalo Bill had he lasted 10 years like that. There are only 38 D linemen in the HOF. Darius was never of that caliber.
  11. You don’t think Mayfield is better than Zach Wilson?? come on
  12. lol, Then the NFL throughout it's history has been littered with guys who had "HOF talent".....for a season or 2. He averaged 7 sacks a season over his 4 best seasons.
  13. It's an admission of guilt
  14. Everyone here was posting the Bills would have killed the Bengals in the AFCC and maybe the Rams in the SB....without Tre-- or Elam, for that matter.
  15. They should also ban any wide angle shots of the empty stadium.
  16. Mystery solved: you're a dumbass Mr. Hopkins! Note how he is very careful to say "never tested positive", not "never used"
  17. "Khalil Shakir, that's my" WR... ....pick for the Bills
  18. The guy is a bum. Anyway, Bills have far too many Barkley's on the payroll already....
  19. If he was putting up big numbers on a team like the Falcons, for instance, no one would much notice or have any reason to care about Josh Allen. Why would they?
