other teams are able to draft decent starting WRs. Maybe Pegula could pay, say, Les Snead to tutor Beane on scouting college WRs. Or the guy In Cincy. Beane is infatuated with journeymen who are at their end--guys who are in the last gasp of their careers. He can't fathom anything else. His entire Bills scouting/drafting career has yielded 2 guys still on the roster: Shakir and Coleman.

whats the hard part? Sign one guy who is on the juice. Hire the next guy after you kinda ask him if he’s dirty? Cant ask “hey, is there a sample on you pending results?” ANYBODY would ask the player that. Or his agent. It requires a minimum baseline amount of common sense—not some special “calling”

Howie Roseman. Anyway, retained and rebuilt? Not really. Sure he signed Josh, some starters and depth guys. The "rebuild" has been his usual off season flurry of 1 year contracts for guys who have issues or are journeymen.

Beane just filed away the 1 year contract for when Elam turns 30...
