Right now, that's a guy who was overdrafted until proven otherwise. How has he played against various Defense that has led you to conclude he's better? He's face one decent Defense (2021 Seattle). With only 2 QBs on the roster at this point going into next year, no they won't jettison either. Why would I read his scouting report from a year ago when I can see him play every week? But since you asked and since I have....the "shies away from tight windows" is obviously wrong--guy throws darts. His YPC is a whopping 8.1 The dumbest part of the scouting report is "confidence and consistency have been issues"...lol. This is cool and supremely confident. Last week in a playoff game, he had a shaky start, then settled down and destroyed the Seahawks.

I don't know if they have "figured it out". I'm positing that they would be hard pressed to sit Purdy. Why do you think Purdy will suddenly toss 6 INTs in one game....because the was the last guy drafted? That's a solid argument. Pretty weak competition? Lance lost to Chicago in the opener. Last year he lost to Seattle, Arizona, and beat Houston.

These guys are paid per hot take. If you polled NFL fans nationwide, you would no doubt see Bills over Bengals in the SB. The pressure is on.

Nah....the media has been hyping Josh all season and the Bills have been more favored to win the SB over the Bengals all year. In fact, many said that the Bengals were a poor AFC SB representative last year and that the Bills would have handled the Rams. If the Bills bow out to the Bengals (who barely put away Huntley and the Ravens), that's a huge blow.

They were doing what you suggested---after a year of learning the system, they gave their expensive draft pick his chance. He struggled briefly then got injured. Then they just started winning again with JimmyG. Now they have seen their 3rd string guy simply master that Offense and go undefeated. Do you think if Purdy leads the 49ers to a win this weekend and to the NFCC game, in the off season they are gonna say "yeah, but---lets see how he handles a training camp QB competition!"

Neither is CBS's entire non-football lineup (for example). You see those commercials for their shows during the games and wonder: who is watching this stuff??

This is exactly why shows and sports media outlets have their talent and writers make picks on every game every weekend. Who is going to post things about a show where no one makes a pick every week? It's pretty standard stuff. It's obviously entertainment.

And Mike White is the best QB on the Jets roster right now. The 49ers QB job is Purdy's at this point. Put his performance against Lance's, such as they are right now, and tell me why Lance should start.

yes a rookie in 2021--I mentioned that. You're right about him already being named the starter week 1 once (this season). Lance's problem is that every other QB on the 49ers roster is better than him. Jimmy G went 7-3 and Purdy is undefeated and fresh off a blowout playoff win (in some rain).

Rookie Allen replaced a terrible Peterman at halftime in week 1. There would have been no one to replace Josh after 6 quarters. Lance had the luxury of riding the pines for a year in Sn Fran---and in his second year when he got the call (when Jimmy G went down), he looked worse than in his 2 games as a rookie. However, the 49ers had another option---and the last drafted rookie who was immediately far better than Lance. So your comparison is inappropriate. You think the 49ers should just give Lance the starting job next season because he cost them so much? I'm glad you're not the Bills GM...

Something like: "Coaches make halftime adjustments in every single game somewhere other than the locker room, amongst themselves, in the few minutes they have together after the OC comes down from his booth and drives his golf cart in to the home team's tunnel" That would give you the traction you are seeking, I bet. his career died that day, I remember... why would they wait until halftime to do that?
