    it’s not happening because no one wants to invest a fully guaranteed contract in this guy. he could easily get more per annum than Jones. He refuses to sign such a contract. The market has confirmed that his demand is unreasonable. Pretty simple

    How about a different philosophy other than one built around journeymen and Bills retreads on 1 year contracts. Bills keep drafting high at D....and then have to bring in these vets for significant snaps.

    Last year, that wasn't saying much. Even so, Elam wasn't the best. He gave up a 70% of his targets for an opponent rating of 96. Jackson (with more targets) gave up far less at 59% and rating of 82

    If they get you to comment on them, as this is their goal, they certainly cannot be described as "futile". They serve no purpose but to elicit responses/discussions. You keep proving their utility, not their futility.
