it's not a trump card. nor was it offered as proof that the Seattle DBs didn't play close/dirty/whatever in another SB. It was a comment to say the Broncos D sucked in the Seattle game and Manning sucked in both SBs, but they won a SB where he really sucked....without any supposed dirty play by the opposing Carolina DBs. So, to summarize, a solid Broncos D was able to compensate for a disastrous Manning performance vs the Panthers, winning a Lombardi. The D could not compensate for a bad SB performance by Manning vs Seattle. Put another way, 2 bad SB showings by Manning. The difference was the Broncos Defense, not Seattle's Defense (which as you are keen to point out, did not play in SB 50). This is Manning's MO in SB's. He's, to put it kindly, clutch. In 4 SBs, he has thrown 3 TDs total, and 5 INTS. But yeah, it must have been the Seahawks DBs in that one SB that wrecked Manning's otherwise typically solid SB play over a career. Does that more the point more clear? I know there are more stats for you to dismiss in place of what you "saw", but I can't describe it in a simpler way. Own your lazy take and move on.

Burning bridges with who? Nate Hackett? He's a bum. At least Payton has the nuts to say what really was going on there. It's what most football fans could plainly see.

Getting signed and cut over and over again isn't a strong argument. The only team that played hardly ever did and now they have cut him a second time. The film and analytics--at least of the Bills organization, who know him better than anyone---led them to conclude he's not worthy of even a camp spot. They cut him again. My conclusion is easy to arrive at. Yours is simply a feeling you have. Why make this something it's not? Good for this kid, he keeps getting a few checks.

Might as well hand him the one year contract as soon as he gets out of his Uber to camp -

No he didn't. Vick was a journeyman. Reid won 20 and lost 20 with Vick. Maybe you if want to call Alex Smith a journeyman (he really wasn't). He was 38-36 in SF, 11-5 in Washington. Reid and McNabb went to the NFCC championship 5 times and lost 4 times--including 3 in a row. Belichick brought a 3-13 Browns team a few years later to 11-5 and the playoffs and beat NE....with Vinny Testeverde as QB.

Culpepper's best year by far was 2004 when he rushed for his fewest yards as a full season starter (just over 400). If a Qb is only a "huge running threat", he stinks. This is what we saw in RG3. Once healed, it wasn't lingering injury that slowed him down. Defenses wouldn't let him run. Once the league saw his game isn his rookie season, they easily defended him vs the run. Disrespecting him as a passer, they shut down his run game.

it’s indicative of what his coaching staff thought of his play. That and getting serially cut with little or no play from 4 teams. what contradictory stats do you have?
