for a guy who doesn’t read my posts, your sure can’t get off my junk lol but yes he gets doubled about 30% of the time. Is that “all the time” or even “a lot”? Not by most interpretations of those terms.
-
This is what I have been saying--he's a checkdown option a few yards away. No WR1's face double coverage "on a regular basis", unless you are redefining the concept.
-
I’ll say. Lol look I get there are a lot of you “derpa derpa catch%!!” guys here. take safety in numbers as they say…
-
If you are going to compare him to the best WR in the NFL, then yeah, he's going to come up short. That's a fantastic point. "Why ask me? I'm not Allen or Brady"....after you repeatedly ask me why Allen and Brady aren't going to Gabe. That's pretty funny. Anyway. Catch % again--how many times can one pick the same cherry?! So Knox has better hands than Cooper, OBJ, DHop, Ridley, Kupp, Adams right? Am I doing catch % right? His massive 18 catches in 8 games (dropping 4 of his other 13 targets)--this is a solid receiver's output? Is forcing throws to a slumping Diggs the best plan for the passing Offense in your assessment (i.e., you agree with Brady's doing this the past 2 months)?
-
I havent cherry picked. I have mentioned his increased total yards each year. I have mentioned productivity (1st downs, TDs), I have mentioned his productivity with more targets, I've mentioned his decreased drop rate (as Diggs's goes up), I've compared his high target game production to Diggs's, I've compared his catch rates to multiple WR1 currently playing in the league. you have catch % and "entire body" as if it does not include the data i have mentioned. ok. What is it about Diggs's stats over the last 2 months have guided Josh to continuously target a less and less effective Diggs? Why not take his targets down and throw a lot more to Shakir--rising star right? Why not send Kincaid downfield instead over over the LOS/turn/catch/get tackled? How about Knox (talk about a guy who with stone hands!)? What don't they get?
-
I havent "slanted" a single stat. In fact with each stat I've given, your "catch%" ship has taken on more water. realizing your are about to drown, you resort to personal attacks that aren't even clever. keep swinging, I enjoy the breeze...
-
his drop rate is half of Diggs's.
-
and 90% of those were not dropped balls.... he should move a lot closer to the QB so his catch % can be 84.7. he could be yet another Bills 4 yard route runner.
-
Greta way to say he's lost or step or is dogging it. He doesn't have that 6th gear to unleash in the playoffs.....

Gabe Davis- Do you want him back and for how much $
Mr. WEO replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cool---another Davis thread! Not sure where I stand? On record you say? You have a solid few hours of re-reading to do...lol -
not quite...I said he should look more to Davis than he has recently instead of Diggs, who is struggling. Crazy, right? 74% of Davis's catches this year are for 1st downs. Over his 4 years, 76% of his catches resulted in first downs. 93% of his catches have resulted in 1st downs or TDs. Knox? lol, come on... lol...that's pretty good. But you're right, I'm clearly not posting at a 5th grade level or below, so I can see why others are struggling. He's not walking through that door Sunday...
-
I was kidding--it's heresy!! you aren't allowed to point some things out. yeah i agree with all of this. Watching these guys invent conclusions I never made to counter while their heads explode trying to articulate their arguments is really the only fun in this.
-
you can't just point that out....
-
lol what? you guys with your straw man arguments. no, not one of the all time greats, lol but keep going!! I also didn't say that Diggs does not see more attention than Davis. I correctly noted that he is doubles a minority of his routes---same as better WR1s are. nice try. anyway, I'm aware of Davis's limitations, so there's no table banging here--just pointing the poor arguments against him---while at the same time highlighting that this team's WR1 is not producing for the last 2 months. Does anyone think Diggs is has been a top WR 1 since mid October? with a QB like Josh Allen? Diggs has 8 drops this year already--he had 8 all year in 2022. His rating is his 2nd lowest of his career. This can't be brought up at all in a discussion about the production of the WR1 and the WR2 of the team? Tampa and Philly, you say? How did Diggs compare to Davis in those 2 games?
-
Haven't watched film. What does it show? No one is "always open". Why mention that? I didn't. Diggs isn't testing the safety over the top. His YBC (7.6) is his lowest since he has been in Buffalo. The deep safety would have to run back toward the LOS to find Diggs on most catches. Why is Brady focusing on Diggs if he's either not open, dropping balls or not otherwise catching all those targets? Tell us. If "he's an average WR2" then....ok. What's your point?
-
when HC orders a punt from your own 40, not much time to hang....
-
Force the ball to an open WR? That's a take... Anyway, Dorsey increased Davis's targets by 50% over Daboll. The result was: For the full season last year, Davis had nearly 1000 yards and 8 TDs. (Diggs had about 1500 yards and 11 tds on 55% more targets than Davis). That's now considered "low production"? That's laughable. This year, it continued until Brady took over--he seems to think forcing it to Diggs on short routes (despite 6 drops this year) is a better way to go. It isn't . In his last 7 games, Diggs has been targeted 11-12 times in 4 games. He caught only 54% of those for a total of only 226 yards. Davis has had 2 games of 12 targets, caught 15 of them for 2 TDs and 192 yards. WHILE Davis has gotten 2, 0 and 2 targets in 3 of the the last 5 games, Diggs has gotten 7, 8 and 11 targets in the same games and produced 86, 27 and 24 yards. It's not because he is doubled all the time (a fallacy--the best WRs in the NFL get doubles no more than 30% of their routes). Plus, Diggs runs such short routes, "a safety over the top" isn't involved much. This has been posted many times (and should be obvious to any viewer), but Kincaid is running short out routes almost exclusively. Would it be better to Davis to run 4 yard outs so he could have a better catch %? lol. your complete focus is on the catch % whereas his value is in the 1st downs, the yards and the TDs. Who is dogging Cooper, Hopkins, Higgins, Evans, Ridley, OBJ for having catch % in the mid 50's? not part of this discussion, but OK...
-
no not everyone else's fault. but when Davis gets a lot of looks in a game, he produces. he's not getting looks, but Diggs is, despite the low production that results. This isn't hard...
-
Obviously Davis isn't getting the targets so that's a Josh problem. Diggs is getting the looks and isn't doing much with them. That's a big problem. So is Allen not looking Gabe's way and just checking down to Kincaid or Diggs. it's best...
-
Hard to make catches when you aren't getting targets. Easy to make catches when you are running 4 yard outs. Kincaid is a good receiver. His route tree is nonexistent. His YPC is tiny because of this. He is also misused. So is Davis. For the bolded, the last few games do not support this claim, obviously. And even if teams are doubling Diggs a lot (they aren't) than why would Allen continue to force him the ball? Although this board loves to endlessly heap the same abuse on Davis over and over, Diggs is a huge problem right now--more so than Davis.
-
his snap % is essentially the same as last year, despite Kincaid and Shakir. You see...you've mentioned stats (incorrectly) in every post. Now we have to forget about stats (they are Gabe's, not mine) because they all counter your inane point? your arguments are not compelling......and I'm being kind here

Araiza, accuser agree to dismiss civil lawsuits against each other
Mr. WEO replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
He never punted for the Bills. let him go. He doesn't know you. -
lol anyway... he needs more touches. I would let him test the market. Make him an offer. With the boost in cap coming who cares. The real issue is the production at WR1. Look at the last 7 games and tell me that's value for the money with Diggs. Brady needs to tell Josh to move off Diggs some. It's a problem.
