  1. they can remedy that this spring. interestingly, only 1 CB went in the 1st round last year. Lions have RB, WR, TE on rookie contracts still and will resign their franchise QB this offseason.
  2. Stunning!!! Lol, did anyone really believe for a second that McD would bring in an outsider for either coordinator job? Or that he will simply let Babich call plays on game days? how does this move the needle?
  3. he closed the Josh Allen producing HC's pipeline. Teams know it's all Josh---and he's not coming with the new HC.
  4. typically true, yes. But the Lions in particular have filled those needs with excellent drafting for a few years now.
  5. And St. Brown before that. That's how it's done with RBs nowadays though.
  6. Or...maybe ends in a not so successful head coaching job without Josh Allen.... Daboll has closed that pipeline.
  7. Step closer to your monitor... Schoen/Daboll decided not to pick up Jone's 5th year (which would have been 2023 at 22 million). Then they had the opportunity to franchise his this year. After one mediocre season that resulted in a playoff win, they instead chose to re-sign him with the 8th highest guarantee in the league--$82 million/2 years, which was $10 million MORE than it would have cost to franchise him for the same 2 years. The result was predictable: starting 2023, he was absolutely awful (again)...until he was injured (again). Big chunk of the cap on a useless QB---all of this was predictable/avoidable. This is the Blake Bortles deal.
  8. I figure this is a move the Bears would make
  9. Aren't they paying for half the stadium costs?
  10. Why would Brady have to take Andrews out to dinner? Couldn't he send room service and watch her through the peephole?
  11. man, I hope someone gets to the bottom of this pronto... ...before there is another thread asking the same thing
  12. McD gets Beane in. Then, within 5 seasons, Daboll is gone, replaced by the QB coach, who then is out, replaced by the next QB coach.....
  13. "Who is truly the best" is settled in the playoffs/championship in every league--not by who beat whom in the regular season. That's, per game, meaningless. Relegation is something else entirely---relegated teams play in a lesser league, not in the 'other conference" in the same league. It's quite the opposite of what you are imagining... MAybe the NFL should make all teams share their draft boards? Like, you know, so they don't draft Mitch Trubisky over Mahomes, for instance?
  14. SO they should all agree to change everything every few years? Mahomes and the Chiefs wouldn't dominate in the NFC....because their QBs aren't as good? This makes no sense at all. What sports league does this? None, simply because it lacks any logical reason to do so.
  15. how long has this been corroding the OP's brain? In 1967, the NFL decided to align the conferences so that, 50-60 years later, 2 teams would dominate the SB?---and they should simply "mix it up" a bit if one conference dominates the SB? lol--in the pantheon of bad TBD idea, this may be its apex.
  16. This is one problem with staffing the coaching ranks and FO's in the NFL. Guys get in and want to bring in their buddies or "promote from within" (in order to maintain authoritative control).
  17. Agreed. Schoen was not ready for that job.
  18. I think far too much is being put into the efficacy of a QB coach. Josh is entering his 7th year...endlessly parading in new voices in his ear at this point will have negligible returns. And Frank??? Come on... time for him to walk away from the game.
  19. Hard to imagine that Raiders would not pick a QB in round 1. Also, I've never watched McCarthy and thought "wow", he's a lot better than Daniel Jones. Whiffing again on a mediocre QB wouldn't be survivable for Daboll and Scheon.
  20. Not exactly--Jefferson is nearly averaging Diggs's career high (and that's with only 9+ games this season)--without a Josh Allen throwing him the ball. But even if we get past that, there is the obvious dilemma of a WR aging in decline vs. a young WR who started off in hsi prime.
  21. They got a much better WR, cheap, thats all. Not "screwed".
