He was in Seattle for a cup of coffee. He parlayed that 2 years into a HC job, got to the SB, orchestrated a legendary Defensive flop and then sunk the franchise. His Cowboys Defense gave up 48 points to Love's Packers. Before that, his team was bounced by the 49ers 2 years in a row (Garoppolo, Purdy). Lots of guys have rings. Belichick has 8. He's unemployed. Quinn was not the Commanders 1st choice obviously. John Lynch built the 49ers.

She made a billion on her tour in a year--we all can understand how "big" that is. This one SB's rating still has no impact on NFL overall revenue. The game was paid for 2 years ago. None of this matters.
-
he was able to (briefly) coach a unit of All Pros, Pro Bowlers and possible HOFers. a struggle no doubt! Seahawks had the #1 scoring D before and after Quinn was there. He turned 2 seasons of that into a HC gig---where he is famous for the most stunning and embarrassing defensive collapse in SB history. He subsequently ran the team in to the ground and was fired early in his last season. How will he turn around Washington??

they were done in 2021----unless you are imagining that this Taylor Swift--Kelce frenzy will still be white hot when these contracts are negotiated again 10 years from now? 200 million viewers as a one time SB bump does nothing for the owners or the networks. It's all been paid for up front. Not sure what you are talking about...

You both seem to think that the NFL gets more money based on how many people will be watching this particular SB---or that they get money from"advertisements". Neither is correct. CBS (along with Fox, ABC/ESPN, Amazon and NBC) just purchased the rights to b broadcast NFL games in 2021--these contracts are locked in until 2033. CBS's contract is for 2.1 billion per year and includes 3 Super Bowls (2023, 2027 and 2031). If ever Taylor Swift on earth tunes in----in fact if 7 billion people watch this year's SB, the NFL won't make an extra penny because it's already bought and paid for by CBS. Obviously CBS makes that back by selling the ads for the game. Those ads are bought by companies with goods and services to sell. Theoretically, the Taylor Swift might have the potential for CBS to sell the ads for more and enhance THEIR bottom line (not the NFL's)....but CBS sold out its SB ads by Halloween--likely before the impact of this couple peaked. None it will make a difference for the NFL's bottom line.

lol Commanders.... They lost that game because their D stunk, had stunk all year and had stunk for all but 1 of Quinn's years there. What is he good at?
-
that's not how it works. No matter how many people tune in for the SB (or don't), it has no immediate impact on revenue for the NFL--that game was paid for by CBS a while ago. Also, the matchups hardly matter: Tampa (small market in a college football state) vs KC (tiny market other than hate watchers nationally) had over 100 million total viewers. NE vs Atlanta (zero national fanbase, mediocre local fanbase) had the most ever--126 million. In fact nearly every other game got at least 110 million. It doesn't matter.

why do posters assume he turned down other jobs? -

he will have to replace/reload the receiver room to do whatever that is, I would imagine -
History has proven it will take more than that. For Elway, it took moving on from Reeves to Shanahan. With McD/revolving door of position coaches (in house) as OC, the window is not opening currently.....

McD will be the Defensive game day caller. Babich will the his Defensive Curtis Modkin. (or Frazier, for that matter). Brady will be what he was this past season---OC.. -
nah, I'm just messing with you--iv'e been here for 15 years. you are confusing "closing window" (for Josh with this Bills team) with "running out of time" re: he's getting old. No one has said he getting too old to win a SB....

New staff?? -
I am new!! I must have missed all the recent threads that are about "Folks keep talking about Josh running out of time to win a championship". Link? Also, Elway was just getting old--he "matured" as soon as Shanny showed up and brought in Davis to carry the Offense.

Rex is gregarious, knows what he’s talking about re: Defense. Saleh is a chronically drowning meat head who doesn’t know how to treat guys who are far more gifted than him. His azz kissing of Rodgers is shameless. I’m surprised his team hasn’t fragged him in the locker room yet -
what folks?

I heard Doug Whaley still can’t go within 500 feet of the Senior Bowl…

I didn’t. I pointed out that Saleh is too stupid to be HC and he was simply jerking Wilson around at the time. I thought Wilson was right to say F You on this. Too many morons own NFL teams. Jets are trash Rodgers is only dangerous to the Jets organization -

good for him. He didn't like working under Aaron Rodgers -
oops i missed that. Witherspoon was already gone. Gonzalez was not much of a factor in NE. Forbes looks solid. Porter in retrospect was the pick of the litter but no team though so on draft day. Lions did pick up a solid Safety in the 2nd in Branch.

there is so much to love in this article. Yet every bit of it was completely predictable. Rodgers signing was desperation that set off another series of awful decisions. https://theathletic.com/5238599/2024/01/31/jets-aaron-rodgers-robert-saleh-season-collapse/?source=user_shared_article (original). Joe Douglas is "assistant GM" Rodgers and Hackett are "frat brothers" Woody brings social media/fan opinions to Saleh in conversations about "what wasn't working on Offense"
