QB coach for Jags is one Nate Hackett. Its still very early of course, but prevailing wisdom on this board was that the combined offensive genius of Doug and Nate would ruin the Jags.

EJ is not comparable to Marshawn. Marshawn had good seasons and even made the Pro Bowl as a Bill so he had trade value. I suspect only Chip Kelly would consider trading for EJ at this point.

It's preseason , so I would temper any enthusiasm . Though certainly having an OC from a former top contender in NFC is a big step up.

About two seasons ago, Ryan declared that Cam would be in the Hall of Fame. It was a bit premature . Cam can put up some good stats but Hall of Famer he is not at this point,

i watched the entire game. Simms looked more natural in his mop up stint compared to EJ. Unlike you, I'm not wowed by the one in ten play. Speaking of Qb evaluations , How's your boy Cam looking. Is he headed to the Hall of fame yet.

No evidence of that yet. Meh even made the Pro Bowl one season. Can't say the same about the other guys.

The scenario you are proposing doesn't make much sense. There is only one month left to prepare for the regular season... So we get our starter ready to play and help him develop consistency with our receiving corps by putting him in with the 3s. Got it.

The EJ story is already settled ;-) But seriously, I thought that Wannstedt would solidify our defense given his previous stints. That didn't come to pass.

I thought that Cassel was getting cut? Don't believe there are any cap savings to cutting EJ.

There were quite a few JP apologists on this board. See many making the same type of excuses for EJ now.
