He had one year left on his contract and was going into a season where his primary QB was going to be EJ. Not exactly a situation which most NFL coaches would savor. So when faced with a choice of having a bad season and getting fired vs taking 4 MM and running, he made the choice most objective folks would....

Houston gave the Pats a hard time because of their defensive pressure. I believe they were the top D this season. Don't think The Steelers can apply anywhere near that amount of pressure on D.
