  1. Plus he's an offensive guy and makes all of his players accountable for their actions. I wanted him when the Bills hired Mularkey and I wouldn't be upset if they got him now.

People seem to forget that Fassel was interviewed for the Bills HC position a few years back... Management wasn't impressed. So what makes you think they will like him the second time around?

  2. Good Post rabbit,

Jay Cutler kind of reminds me of JP Losman and before Cutler fans start freaking out, I think Cutlers very talented and I also feel the same way about JP Losman. The great job Jim Fassell is doing with Losman has shown amazing results in a very short time and it wouldn't surprise me to see JP Losman get another shot at the NFL again.

Brooks Bollinger has significantly better stats than JP does in the UFL.... And Bollinger was cut by the Lions this year.

  3. Brady is not the reason, its the team/system. Cassel went 11-5 as teh starter last season. Id love to see what Jim Sorgi could do with the Colts.... :pirate:

Bottom line is Manning on the Pats, they win those 3 SBs and easily a 4th (maybe even a 5th) to go 19-0 (take note of what Brady look like when he was pressured - compare to Manning). Brady on the Colts - they dont make the playoffs that many years in a row/have that many 12 win seasons in a row/win 1 Superbowl etc. If ESPN didnt suck his willie 24/7 a lot of you wouldnt share their opinion of him.

So if Cassel went 11-5, what would the record have been if Brady had not been injured at the start of the season? Your analysis of the situation is overly simplistic...

  4. I like Fred on returns too.. and I agree with all of what you said

Maybe some of the posters here are correct in saying that once Hardy becomes active Roscoe will be let go

It's a shame that the Bills never really figured out how to get him touches in the offense.

Roscoe never proved that he deserved more "touches" in the offense. As other folks have correctly pointed out, he was pretty worthless as a primary receiver because of poor route running skills and lack of a physical presence. Way too easily taken out with normal bump and run.

  5. Ha, what a funny guy. Al Davis can only dream of drafting or trading for a player who can make plays like the one you should take a look at from last year. And remember this is the same player all of you experts have decided is worthless to the "dynamic Buffalo Bills offense." :w00t:

    Parrish running back a kick:

Yeah this guy is useless, right??? Let's get a 7th round pick for him. :w00t:

The fact that the Bills could not offload Parrish does speak quite a bit to his "usefulness" .

Also, as much as you would like to cite Parrish's returns, how many times a year does he actually do that what you linked in You Tube? Does his 1 return for a TD every year actually make a difference in the scheme of things? Has he done it this year? Maybe you should also link the videos of Parrish having critical fumbles or giving away the Cleveland game. How about that time he gained -20 yards of field position?

I'm looking at the current PR stats and it shows Parrish with an awesome 6.1 yd average , which puts him 21st in the NFL among punt returners. Awesome indeed.

  6. Twenty to 1 says that Parrish is released, the Pats pick him up, and he makes a decent career out of it ala Welker.

Mind-boggling how this team hasn't been able to use him.

Lol. Parrish = Welker? That's one of the silliest and most baseless comparisons I have seen here and there have been many.

Parrish = Dante Hall = doesn't make much of an impact anymore.

  7. no doubt if it is, he will go somewhere else and tear it up...a shame the guy feels he has to score everytime he touches the ball because our offense can't score points...

what makes you think a slightly built offensive player like parrish will "tear it up" somewhere? he will never be more than a punt returner no matter where he goes. he doesn't have what it takes to make it as a regular part of any offense.

  8. I think we can win if we play and plan well. I would love to see Fassel in Buffalo next year. I hope you're right on both counts.

The Bills management was not enamored of Fassel the last time they were looking for a head coach. Rumor was that he made an extremely poor showing at the interview? What makes you think they would re-consider him?

  9. Browns system is garbage.Their coach doesn't like quinn either. Look at B. Edwards. He played well for the Jets against Dolphins. Quinn could do the same and is an upgrade over Edwards. Wilson will never pay top 10 money to rookie qb. Bring in quinn whose bonus has already been paid out by browns and upgrade the lines via draft. 2nd may be too high but a 3rd would be good. Throw in parrish too.

What film in the NFL gives evidence that Quinn would be an upgrade over Edwards?

  10. Denver and Carolina contacted JP's agent to schedule visits but informed him that he was only being considered as a 2 or 3. JP turned them down. He could be a backup in the league collecting a check. He instead chose to be a starter and try to learn from a real coach. I am also on the list of people thinking we kept the wrong QB. The same list with Lee Evans, who I would assume knows much more than any of you on this board bashing JP.

I remember Denver being interested in JP. But then didn't Denver lose interest since they were able to sign Simms? I don't see much evidence in terms of new articles that supports the fact that JP made a conscious decision to not go for a backup spot. Isn't the truth that there were not many takers?

Anyway, going for a minor league starting spot is a huge gamble. If JP fails, his career is probably dead in water. And even if he does ok, doing well in a scrub league does not necessarily translate to NFL success.

  11. people get the wrong idea about jp's current situation. jp would and should be in the league still, just becuase he is not playing for anybody does not mean he wasnt contacted or given offers. he was offered multiple jobs this off season, all where for back up positions. he turned each one down because he wanted to start and start only. too much time went by and he found himself jobless because he was stubborn. as long as he is willing to work at a no. 2 and cross his fingers he gets a shot to start then he will be back in next year

do you have evidence of these offers?

  12. Its still probably to early to get to carried away about AVP(even though I am) but JP Losman with a decent OC grooming him would still be a starting QB in the NFL in my opinion. JP Probably had the strongest arm in the NFL, intelligent, great work ethic, good character, good accuracy, good mobility, and an awesome long ball that T.O. would have loved.

It urks me to see JP out of the league, it really does.

Hmmm. JP was intelligent and had good accuracy? Not many people would agree about his intelligence--football or otherwise. I think he scored an awesome 14 on his Wonderlick before retaking later on? Remember that an average person would score around a 21.

50= highest possible score, superior intelligence

    21= average intelligence

    14= equivalent to unskilled worker

    Below 14= moron

Also, JP's career completion percentage is only 59.3% and his TD to INT ratio is below 1.0 as per NFL.com. Those are hardly the numbers of an accurate QB.

  13. We have different ideas on the error evaulation, but this is the best objection yet, and certainly reasonable. Decisions can't be made in a vacuum, absolutely correct, and the ideal gameday staff would include someone who had a solid grasp of the probabilities AND the desirable intangible qualities. Someone in the box to radio-down the hard data, the numbers, and someone on the field to use that information to make the call. I'm just not certain that we see a lot of evidence that the data is being used in a lot of gameday decisions.

It's the posts like ... "it puts us up by 2 TDS! not just a TD and a FG" that, respectfully, just miss the point. I really hope that wasn't the depth of the sideline analysis, or that Dick really said "3 points is 3 points" or whatnot. I can just imagine Belichick & Co. watching that, giggling.

The statistical comparisons of outcomes is interesting to an academic or someone who has taken enough statistics/probability to understand the analysis. But are there actually NFL teams out there that employ PhDs on their staff to run through the numbers to help coaches come up with game decisions? Moreover, stats tell us what can be expected to happen on average. It becomes very difficult to generalize at the extremes. For instance, a 4th and 1 on the 50 yard line during the 2nd Qtr with half the field left is not at all comparable to a 4th and 1 near the goal line with 2 minutes left in the game.
