Roscoe never proved that he deserved more "touches" in the offense. As other folks have correctly pointed out, he was pretty worthless as a primary receiver because of poor route running skills and lack of a physical presence. Way too easily taken out with normal bump and run.

The fact that the Bills could not offload Parrish does speak quite a bit to his "usefulness" . Also, as much as you would like to cite Parrish's returns, how many times a year does he actually do that what you linked in You Tube? Does his 1 return for a TD every year actually make a difference in the scheme of things? Has he done it this year? Maybe you should also link the videos of Parrish having critical fumbles or giving away the Cleveland game. How about that time he gained -20 yards of field position? I'm looking at the current PR stats and it shows Parrish with an awesome 6.1 yd average , which puts him 21st in the NFL among punt returners. Awesome indeed.

Lol. Parrish = Welker? That's one of the silliest and most baseless comparisons I have seen here and there have been many. Parrish = Dante Hall = doesn't make much of an impact anymore.

I agree. He did not have clean possession of ball before going out of bounds. So the reversal call was a good one.

what makes you think a slightly built offensive player like parrish will "tear it up" somewhere? he will never be more than a punt returner no matter where he goes. he doesn't have what it takes to make it as a regular part of any offense.

The Bills management was not enamored of Fassel the last time they were looking for a head coach. Rumor was that he made an extremely poor showing at the interview? What makes you think they would re-consider him?

What film in the NFL gives evidence that Quinn would be an upgrade over Edwards?

I remember Denver being interested in JP. But then didn't Denver lose interest since they were able to sign Simms? I don't see much evidence in terms of new articles that supports the fact that JP made a conscious decision to not go for a backup spot. Isn't the truth that there were not many takers? Anyway, going for a minor league starting spot is a huge gamble. If JP fails, his career is probably dead in water. And even if he does ok, doing well in a scrub league does not necessarily translate to NFL success.

Hmmm. JP was intelligent and had good accuracy? Not many people would agree about his intelligence--football or otherwise. I think he scored an awesome 14 on his Wonderlick before retaking later on? Remember that an average person would score around a 21. 50= highest possible score, superior intelligence 21= average intelligence 14= equivalent to unskilled worker Below 14= moron Also, JP's career completion percentage is only 59.3% and his TD to INT ratio is below 1.0 as per NFL.com. Those are hardly the numbers of an accurate QB.

The statistical comparisons of outcomes is interesting to an academic or someone who has taken enough statistics/probability to understand the analysis. But are there actually NFL teams out there that employ PhDs on their staff to run through the numbers to help coaches come up with game decisions? Moreover, stats tell us what can be expected to happen on average. It becomes very difficult to generalize at the extremes. For instance, a 4th and 1 on the 50 yard line during the 2nd Qtr with half the field left is not at all comparable to a 4th and 1 near the goal line with 2 minutes left in the game.

how is completion percentage not a valid statistic for judging qb performance?

The chances that something can go wrong on a 4th and short are higher than for a chip shot FG that puts you up by 13. Easy coaching decision.

the mandatory minimum if he did not plead was actually 3.5 years. by pleading , plaxico got his jail time down to 20 months. so where did you get this 1 year or less figure?

"Innocent until proven guilty" is a legal concept. The facts are that Plax had an illegal gun that went off and could have hurt somone other than him. Goodell CAN act on the facts...

hmmm. ted ginn only toasted us because the bills coaching staff chose to keep a gimpy mcgee in the game against him. ginn did not do much else the rest of the season as i recall.

Did you forget that Fassel failed miserably in his quest to get another NFL job? He is 0-6 in head coach intereviews in recent times? And he had also failed to get the Bills job interviewing against DJ who lots of people on this board view as anathema? So thinking that JP should shine under Fassel maybe a stretch. If other NFL teams were not willing to give the guy another coaching position, it might be because the guy is just not that good.

Whether or not JP showed improvement is totally irrelevant. The point of my post was to refute the notion that head coaches hold the hands of QBs. Thats not their job.
