  1. Luck hasnt exacly lit it up yet like a Brees , Rodgers, Brady. Their punter still gets a lot of work.
  2. Since a number of fans here like to cite win - loss percentage and "clutch " play in playoffs, why not Sanchez ? He's taken his team all the way to the AFC championship twice !
  3. Yes. Because of the single elimination format , sometimes anything can happen . It's a pity football can never have a series format like baseball , basketball, hockey . It makes it less likely that there are upsets since the more talented team tends to emerge victorious in those series .
  4. There are many amazingly ignorant posts on TBD. Yours is now among them.
  5. Its nice luxury to play safety on a stacked defense like the 49ers... Would Whitner have put up those same improved numbers on a crappy team like the Jags.
  6. There is a difference in playing "good" during spot duty vs playing good as designated starter over course of a season. Cousins will have a chance to show if the scouting reports that said he would be a backup quality qb due to weak arm strength and inability to face pressure are false. If he turns out to be good next season starting in place of rg3 then great . If not , then Washington will wonder if they should have used that pick to fill out some depth or other positional need.
  7. Flacco is not at the same level as a Brady, Manning , Brees, Rodgers. 20 MM per year is unrealistic IMO .
  8. The jury is still out on whether or not Cousins is a "quality" QB. The Redskins took a lot of flack for drafting Cousins after giving up the farm for RG3. Shanahan seems to like to gamble on unusual picks. I still remember him using a 3rd on Maurice Clarett back on Denver. That sure worked out well for them . The Cousins pick only looks ok now because RG3 may not be back in time for this coming season.
  9. This is all smoke and mirrors. We all know Stevie only got open when Lee Evans was acting as a decoy and drawing double coverage .
  10. Ummm. If Tarvaris gets signed by another team , don't the Bills actually get a compensatory pick? So in the end it's a wash? Anyway , I don't get why folks here are obsessing over the 7th round pick thst was used to obtain TJ. That's usually a throwaway pick.
  11. Wow. I second that idea lol. Maurice Clarett looked great during his one year at Ohio State. We can't leave any stone unturned just like others here are saying
  12. I find it interesting that folks are saying that the Eagles would want to pick up a QB when they still have Vick, Foles, and Edwards around. It seems they have some other glaring holes that need to be filled before QB?
  13. I love how a lot of people on this board cite win - loss as the only stat that matters. But on a football team, you have 21 other players on offense and defense . The performance of those other players greatly affects the final results of the game . You can be the most skilled qb , yet if the team around you is bad , you are not going to win . There is a hall of fame qb who started out on a very sorry team. During his first 2 seasons , he was 3-16 as a starter with 11 tds , 21 interceptions , and a 55 % completion rate. That's horrible . Yet after San Fran traded for him and eventually started him , he went on to have a hall of fame career . Steve Young's final numbers with San Fran are 221 tds , 86 ints, and a 101 rating . Big difference when you play on a great team . Now in no way am I saying that Fitz is the next Young . But blaming the terrible Bills record on entirerly on Fitz is just plain dumb.
  14. Are you the guy who labeled himself as the "beacon of clarity" a few months back ? I think you had some special insight on the Bills leaving WNY. So do we have a new destination already ?
  15. Y You forgot to complain about them hiring the cheapest coach out there.
  16. The Wall Street Journal had an interesting article today where they cited the fact that almost 20% of the head coaches in the NFL are named Mike . Here is a link to a short online version-> link However, statistically speaking, Mike is not the most common name in the US. It is actually James based on Census information. Yet, there are only 2 Jims who are head coaches in the NFL right now --which is just 6%. What can a James do to get a fair shot in the NFL?
  17. I am curious what makes you say that. Fewell has a lot more talent now on the Giants , yet a number of folks have said that the Giants defense has underperformed.
  18. Gailey and Jauron certainly were bad. But Bleacher articles tend to be low quality.
  19. Tannehill also put up mediocre numbers in his rookie season with Miami. So the jury is still out on him .
  20. Without any alternative QB waiting in wings, there is no way that Baltimore would let Flacco go. Also, I don't get all the love for TJ. He was relegated to third string status on the Seahawks before they traded him. Before the Seahwaks, the Vikes had decided that Jackson wasn't worth re-signing. Is there some sort of as yet unseen talent that would make him an awesome starting QB?
  21. Wait a minute. A number of TBD posters have said in the past that Tebow would be an awesome NFL QB since "he just wins" . So why are people now saying that he cant succeed as a QB?
  22. Jared "Round Mound of Touchdown" Lorenzen. He should help sell some seats.
  23. Thats Blasphemy! According to a number of posters here Quinn has not yet gotten enough of a chance to prove himself (even though he is already on his 3rd team). Claussen also hasn't sucked enough yet to be entirely written off. The Bills were wrong to not get him in the 2nd round .
