  1. Bears were 11-5 and went to the playoffs during Orton's rookie season.
  2. College accuracy does not translate to NFL when you aren't running a pro offense. Tim Tebow averaged over 66% completions during his college career. Thats because he ran a spread and was throwing only to wide open receivers. In the NFL, Tebow averaged an eye poping 47.9% during his 3 year career. So there should not really be a surprise that Griffin is doing poorly when he is being asked to operate in something different from his Baylor kiddie offense.
  3. What year was Maybin drafted ?
  4. I remember seeing Mike Williams run for that touchdown during the Detroit game and thinking that he looked awfully slow .
  5. Brees , Brady, and P. Manning are better QBs than Luck at this point based on their performance over past 3 seasons (try QB rating as an objective criteria). Seems like an arbitrary ranking to put Luck up there.
  6. Nah. Can't have two projects on the team. Bills would need to jettison EJ
  7. Which team would be willing to make deal for RGIII? Jets , Bills, Houston?
  8. Brady Quinn looks best when he is not throwing the football.
  9. Elite physical talent does not necessarily translate to long term success. See Vince Young and Jamarcus . QBs need to be able to read defenses and operate in pocket . RGIII and Kap have not been able to do that and hence they look like dumpster fires .
  10. Sure. We can just invoke Jimmy Spag's theory of transvestitivity to make this conclusion.
  11. Didn't you essentially say the same thing about RGIII last year? He certainly bounced back this year.
  12. Then based on your statements Eli did not win those Superbowls. It was a combination of good defense that limited Brady and his receivers along with some timely / lucky throws to receivers who are already out of league or on their way out. Its just like saying Trent Dilfer won Superbowls.
  13. Are we playing on the moon this Sunday?
  14. So if Eli won those Superbowls all by himself, why have the Giants been so awful the past few seasons? Or is it because the team around the QB counts as well?
  15. Perhaps both. But mainly highlights right now. Didn't everyone love Manziel doing the "money " gesture after scoring? Or how about how he flopped in end zone after fumbling and being bowled over by Kyle?
  16. Manziel is a BB favored QB and was available to us during last years draft. Imagine the highlight reels we would have.
  17. It's nice to be a troll
  18. Couple of things. The moment any post mentions a BB favored QB, it pretty much implies it's tongue I'm cheek ;-) Secondly, its amazing how negative the reaction to Kaepernick is now when just two season ago everyone was saying how amazing he was and how Buddy messed up not drafting him. Just goes to show how fickle folks can be. It's more about what is the coolest new shiny toy rather than evaluating actual talent and longevity. Lastly, quite a few folks kept talking about how the Mario signing was a supreme waste of money. For instance, I still remember the arguments about how if the Bills had drafted Jason Pierre Paul instead then no need to spend all that money . Now compare the performance of Mario and JPP the past few seasons and we can see what the equivalence is. Even adjusting for JPPs injury issues, it's not even close. Mario over JPP all day.
  19. A number of resident QB experts here have repeatedly posted in past about what a stud QB Kaepernick is. And I'm pretty sure he has the BB seal of approval. However, he hasn't really played well in the past two seasons after the read option fad went away . Perhaps a change of scenery will benefit Kaepernick and the Niners--who are not making the best use of a very talented roster currently. Mario is probably one of our more attractive trade candidates . And we need to have another QB option for next year . Thoughts ?
  20. You have to take those completion percentage stats into context. Griffin is completing mainly screens , dumpoffs, crossing routes currently. Those are easy passes to complete.
  21. He has performed well mostly against crappy defenses (Panthers, Cowboys, Titans) ? If he can keep up the level of play against Seattle, then we can say things have changed. I suspect though that we will see the same Sanchez that New York Jets fans came to love.
  22. I believe it was 3 1st round picks and 1 2nd round pick to acquire the rights for RG3 . Then 1 4th round pick to get Cousins. It was brilliant "out of the box " thinking to use 5 picks to get two QBs who are now sitting on the bench.
  23. RGIII benched. Colt McCoy will get the starter job against Colts. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11940146/washington-redskins-start-colt-mccoy-robert-griffin-iii-indianapolis-colts
  24. Hmmm. I would rather look at Bradford as a number of folks here have proposed. RG3 is going to be another project QB.
  25. Management will cut QBs if they feel they can no longer move forward with them. See Trent Edwards getting release and replaced by Fitz.
