  1. He mentioned in his group he had Moulds and Thurman, among others. Unfortunately, Jim has his own group that is interested - and they (all the former players) haven't been able to get on the same page...
  2. He was in town for his buddies son's barmitzva. He stayed at the Ritz, which is one block from the bar i work in - Gryphons.
  3. We were out of Patron, so it was Cabo Wabo, but Patron was his first request. When he saw that I was a huge Bills fan, he said we had to do it "Buffalo-Style!!!". Really nice guy - his heart never left Buffalo when he was on the Bears
  4. in White Plains, NY. I bartend the spot he came into. I thought he looked familiar, then it clicked. I said, "You look a lot like Reuben Brown". He just smiled and gave me a pound. He lost a lot of weight - i would say he's in the 250-270 range now. Real cool guy - we talked about the Bills for a good hour. We also did about 10 shots, so he was real forthcoming about some of the Bills recent pitfalls. Seems that he and a group of former players are really pushing to buy the team, but if it comes down to it, the group with the most $$$ wins, so he is a bit fearful that the Bills could end up further away than Toronto. Lets hope that this isn't the case, but I guess we should brace for the worst...
  5. I think butler goes to the bench. he's just not aggressive enough / doesn't get a good push at the point of attack
  6. I think the whole Henderson for a 4th rounder never really grew any legs... Maybe it was a possibility before the draft, but now i bet it would cost us a bit more. Dockett is younger too - and knowing the cheap Cardinals, he could be had... Of course, that's assuming we're not being the cheap Bills
  7. Wants out of Arizona. He's a young stud of a D-lineman. Gets after the QB/penetrates - exactly what our crappy cover-2 scheme calls for. I guess the argument could be 1- he's gonna cost us some $/ high draft choice and 2- he's a warm weather player. If something can be swung, do you take him? I say yes (i say trade as high as a 2nd rounder)
  8. I'm tired of all the pee in my cornflakes around here. My sentiments exactly
  9. I have a friend, Dan Gray (DT from Rutgers), that played with Dick in Detriot in the 70's. He has said over and over again how smart and just plain nice he was. I just wish he could manage games better...
  10. Best player available
  11. He looks good to me. I think he might be available in the 2nd when we pick. The question is, do we pick him over some like Alex Mack or Unger if all 3 are sitting there when we pick?
  12. I remember a guy named Warren Sapp that tested positive for pot before he fell out of the top 5 and got drafted 12th(?) by the bucs. He had a decent career...
  13. A lot of mock drafts are starting to show him dropping out of the first round because of his slow 40. I'm pretty sure Mr. Metzelaars wasn't a speed demon... he really looks like a TE we will go after - he is said to be a monster run blocker as well as having very good hands. I definitely still think we go DE in the first round, but if we only have to jump up a few spots for say a 4th or 5th, i say do it! PS - i'm not sure that i really like to T.O. signing, but i'll get over it if he produces...
  14. Please, be quiet.
  15. there is absolutely no proof of this happening. btw the centers name is hartwick
  16. I doen't never makes no mistakeses
  17. In 1998, we traded the 9th overall pick to the Jags for Rob Johnson - we all know how that changed Buffalo's fortunes for years. I'm sure that not everyone remembers that the pick we sent to the Jags ended up being Fred Taylor. I know he's at best a very serviceable back-up to Marshawn (especially if he gets suspended for being a knucklehead), but this is an opportunity to kinda get our pick back, in theory, for that disastrous trade. Just a thought...
  18. Certainly "Apples and Oranges"... LT played almost exclusively as the "blitz" LB in the 3-4 scheme (although we've all seen footage of him making a great pick from time to time). Bruce played the RDE in the same scheme - a position that is normally occupied by someone 30-40 lbs heavier and designated to occupy blockers/stop the run. I think fans will remember correctly that Bruce was as good, or better than most at stopping the run as he matured. Having 200 sacks playing RDE mostly in a 3-4 defense has to put him well ahead of someone (LT) that usually was dealing with a TE or RB to block him on his way to the QB. In my opinion, Bruce is the better player.
  19. FA OLB Karlos Dansby Rd1 (trade down) TE Brandon Pettigrew Rd2 DE Michael Johnson
