If Clausen is not there...you trade down!
rocwocka replied to BB Fan 4 LIFE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ummmm... if Clausen isn't there at 8, how do you trade up to get him? I would be impressed if you could teach me that move... -
no. we need to stop bringing in players that stunk it up on bad teams.

What's happening with Stroud?
rocwocka replied to BB Fan 4 LIFE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
me too, although i feel as though he's probably the only nfl caliber player that could go on a triple reenforced see saw with mike williams. btw, thats not an endorsement -
Truly inspiring

Goodnight, Jonathan Garvey.

Tony Ugoh wasn't the starter on their SB winning team, it was Tarik Glenn. Ugoh has been a disappointment... leave him on the Colts.

Yep, that what Mayock is saying, and he seems to be correct more often than other "Draft Gurus". He put on 13 lbs of muscle since last year, which was one of the things teams were weary of - Bradford being a bit too frail. I'm not holding my breath, but I REALLY hope Bulaga is available.

I wonder what this weekend will bring?

Ben Watson is strickly a pass receiving tight end, and not a good one at that. I've seen him drop more passes than catch -
wow, i never really knew what that meant either. so, if we cut a player (that we used this approach with), there is no cap hit? damn, i guess we can get away with cutting some over payed bums then? get er done, Buddy...

I'm no fan of John Clayton, but he makes sense here...
rocwocka replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i will say that if, for some ungodly reason, we draft any kind of db in the first round, i will personally build an a-team type van and drive up to buffalo and blow through the front of mr nixs' office. nooooooooo doubt. -

even if he were to fall (which, from what im reading - IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!), he doesn't fit a 3-4 scheme. d-linemen are asked to hold at the point of attack and allow the lb's to run to the ball carrier. he is more a traditional 4-3 penetrating tackle, prob perfect for a tampa 2... -
patrick willis, anyone?

i'm really into the bulaga pick too. the only thing that keeps popping in my head is robert gallery and how the iowa coaching staff did such a good job of coaching him up that he had already reached his potential by the time he was drafted... he has to be in the same class of mike williams sized busts, the only difference is that the raiders are too proud to admit their mistakes and cut him. he is merely a marginal guard being paid like a starting left tackle... another tony mandarich type... if we land bulaga, i can only hope that im just being a paranoid ass.

a serious retrospect of being a BILLS FAN

That would be chump change (exactly what RJ was worth) in todays standards.

i would say that ANYONE that knows anything about football knows that Al Davis can be counted on to make REALLY bad personnel decisions, that has been well documented the last few years. That team has a great legacy that is being repeatedly tarnished the last few years. -

totally with you on that, brother -
i have long been a Bills fan in an area of NY that boasts mostly annoying, non-informed Giants and Jets fans. This is part of my being, i think - you know, dealing with the adversity of being a fan of a long time loser, in the pit of fair-weathered fans. Jim Kelly always reminded us of the "resilience" of our Buffalo Bills, and that has always stuck with me. i do not think i would be a better man if we had won the big one, even once... i do believe that i probably wouldn't be able to appreciate my team as much... strange? i think we as Bills fan share a common thread of rooting for the under dog, full well knowing that our hearts were only going to get torn out at some point. in living in westchester, ny (about 20 minutes from Yankee Stadium, where i bartend) i went through a period, a couple seasons ago, where our team came out hot (4-0). every winning week going into the books, i would start getting more comments from the usual haters along the lines of "man, you know, i've always liked those Buffalo Bills.... you know they're the only REAL NY team!". i found that people were trying to jump on the band wagon, to try to TAKE MY TEAM FROM ME. i was distressed, i didn't remember what it was like to root for a "winner" (BTW - i'm not a Yankees fan - at all - i don't even like baseball). that game against the Cardinals, we got crushed - i'm sure we all remember 'the concussion'. that game was what i was waiting for - the bubble to pop, that second shoe to fall, the jig was finally up. as the losses started to pile up, the haters reverted back to their ways. always one to search for the silver lining, i realized that I GOT MY TEAM BACK! i know that i'm always optimistic, you know... hope springs eternal, but if we field another bag of dog sh*t this year, i won't flinch, i'll just sit back every week and root for the couple of guys that stand out and imagine what it would be to have a team full of them. always a BILLS fan. BTW, if you're ever in White Plains, NY, stop by Gryphons (49 Mamaroneck Ave), i also bartend there. i'll be the one with the BILLS hat on.

the last time we traded for a "proven veteran" QB, we had just drafted an O-tackle in the top 10. That didn't work out, right? I'm hoping for Bulaga to be there when we pick and I really think McNabb would have a few good years left, but i'm just fearful of the same results. I say we go for the best o tackle available, then go use our picks on more youth, instead of giving them away for a guy that could be around for maybe 3 more years.

Saints fans react to Porter's INT

So very sad and absolutely true. If and when that happens, i'm REALLY going postal... one Super Bowl broken hand couldn't possibly compare to the next time...
