In a heart beat and I would give a 2nd rounder. Sign a LT or OLB in FA and draft a LT or OLB in the first round(preferably by trading down) then grab as many LB's and D-line as they can find in the remainder of the draft.

WTF are u talking about? Have you seen Ryan Clady, Joe Thomas and Jake Long play. They are as good or better at their respective ages than Ogden and Walter Jones were. I didn't see much of Oher but he looks like a gem albeit at RT.

The truth probably lies in the middle. Hopefully it is closer to Byrd is great than it is closer to he got lucky. What do all the Jason Peters being voted to the ProBowl means nothing people have to say? Is Byrd deserving or is it just a bunch of people checking the box for the safety with the most INT's?

Nothing but what did you expect. The coordinators aren't going to leave their current teams. Any assistant GM's that could be hired won't interview until the season is over. That leaves a precious few unemplyed names for GM and HC. I wanted Gruden but he took himself out of the running. Holmgren was a terrible GM/HC. Don't know if he will be ok as a GM alone but really don't think he will do all that well in Cleveland. Bruce Allen is a quality hire by Dan Snyder. Wow how often is that said. Shanahan's record as a GM is not that great either unless you count signing the entire underachieving Cleveland defensive line as a good decision. Maybe they get Ernie Acorsi or Ron Wolfe but it is more likely we get a Scott Pioli or Dmitrov type, an assistant GM ready to run his own show. Hopefully that happens 1-3 days after the season and a new HC 1-2 weeks later.

Not to rain on anyone's parade but does anyone know if he is any good in coverage? I would submit at least 6 of the 9 INT were terribly thrown balls that were not even close to the reciever. I also saw him beaten in coverage multiple times. It is great and sad at the same time that he is making these plays and Donte couldn't. I hope his sports hernia gets fixed and he is a fixture in the Pro Bowl for years. We may be thanking DJ in 2 years when Byrd and McKelvin are lining up in the same ProBowl defense.

This time you nailed it. Indy will come up short. They can't run or stop the run. Someone will take them out. In fact I think they lose their first game and San Diego gets home field for the AFC championship game and wins it this time.

Kelly was done the year he reitred(14TD 19INT 73.2 QB rating). He was mistake prone and slow to deliver the ball. Man it is incredible to see how many picks he actually threw each year. Take away 1990 and I am not sure he makes the HOF. Could he have won with that defense? Sure so could just about everyone. Actually that Ravens team can be blamed for the downfall of many franchises. One frickin team with arguably the best defense EVER wins the SB with one of the worst QB's EVER to start a SB and that became the model for how to win a championship. Just manage the game.... Not even Tom Brady year one managed the game. He won them. Maybe Roethlisberger's first SB come close.

I would rather go after Kolb and be willing to give up a 2nd round pick. Smith and Dixon would be very good FA targets but IMO I wouldn't give up a good draft choice for either of them. May as well draft your own QB prospect in the third round.

If I were a season ticket holder I would sue for my money back. It's bad enough you have to pay full price for pre-season games but to watch back-ups ruin a perfecrt season at home is ridiculous. How many games has Peyton played without injury? The Colts will live to regret this decision.

Why not franchise him? There is no other player on the team leving via free agnecy worth keeping. It's not like if you don't use the tag this year that you get two next year. Maybe some team offers up a 4th round pick for him ala Randy Moss. There is nothing to lose.

Someone please tell me why the Pats 16-0 is not better than the Miami 12 win season. I really don't care that they were undefeatedin the end. They played four less games. Hell the Pats were 18-0 at one point. Not to mention they did it in a salary cap era.

How do you figure that? They benched the enitire offensive line and most of the defense as well.
