  1. McShay "Offensive tackle and quarterback are chief among the Bills' needs, and they should draft a tackle if Davis, Okung or Bulaga is available. This scenario has them selecting the top quarterback prospect in the 2010 class, though. Bradford is a bit of a project because of his slight frame and the spread system he played in at Oklahoma, but he has the football intelligence and accuracy to be molded into a good starter in the NFL." Kill me now if we use our top pick on a guy with a slight frame (Rob Johnson), injury prone(Losman, Johnson, Edwards), and has football intelligence(Edwards) who could be molded(Bills have failed to develop every QB except Kemp, Ferguson, and Kelly) in to a GOOD starter. The Bills need a ProBowl LT or LB with the first pick. There are 5 QB's in this draft who are bigger, didn't play in the spread, and have just as good a chance or maybe better than Bradford to be a quality QB in the NFL. Many are likely to be available in the second through fourth rounds.
  2. How do you know how much he trains in the offseason? He came to camp in great shape? TO lives in Miami correct? Did that effect his passion for the game? TRent was present for the conditioning work in Buffalo and the mini-camps. Work ethic is not an issue.
  3. Based on what evidence would he be a solid #2???? Old washed up and out of FB for a year. I am not as enamored with Steve Johnson as most but I would rather he, Parrish and Hardy get the reps. PS Good riddance Josh Reed
  4. Can you remember one play where Drew Brees threw downfield while winning the SB? He checked down multiple times or maybe they were designed throws to the RB. Manning was intercepted on a check down from a blitz and he is probably one of the three best QB's in histroy. The difference is Brees was throwing short passes to WR's a lot. Trent just threw to slow ass white TE's. Is it Trent's fault or AVP's fault there was no counter to covering the underneath throws? Were guys truly open downfield? Was Trent already sacked when these guy were supposedly open? Trent will be the starter day one. Fitz is wildly inaccurate. Brohm who the hell knows. Would I still take Clausen if he is there - yes. My hunch is he will not and they take a LB - almost have too if they are really switching to a 3-4.
  5. Seriously with all the available online resources and TiVo who watches pre and post game coverage? Who wathces the games in real time? I watch the games on TiVO so I can blow by the bad announcers and commercials every 5 minutes. Maybe it is because I am old and tired(age 39) but Berman stopped being entertaining years ago. Hell ESPN's best commentator may be Keyshawn Johnson. Salisbury steak was intolerable. TJ is clueless. Young talks about QB's as if they walk on water. Ditka - old buffoon as someone else posted.
  6. I don't think it was boring but I am not sure it was exciting either. For the first time in a long time I had no interest in who won the game. I had rooted against New England and Pittsburgh these last several years. There were no blown calls or dramatic turnovers that usually increse the excitment level. No huge scoring plays or returns. Just outstanding short passing game high percentage football. Simms and Nantz are awful and listening to the them made it that much less enjoyable.
  7. Do you really think he gives a shat what the community thinks about who he drafts????
  8. WTF did Shockey ever do except be a great TE. Now he has a SB ring. The reason the Bills suck ass is they have guys like Fine, Schouman, and Stupar who have no business being in the NFL yet starting. Shockey has skills and speed. Something no TE has ever had in Buffalo. Keep drafting character guys who are either too small, too slow, and usually too white to play in the NFL and you can kiss another decade good bye.
  9. That is a fair critcism. Steve Young was injury prone and still made the HOF. Aikman had more concussions than Trent has had. Only time will tell but my bet is Trent starts next year.
  10. I think his point was that WR's are hard to draft. There are many successes like you pointed out in late rounds - which means 32 teams missed on those players round after round. RB is an easier position to succeed early in the NFL. There are only a handful of WR's that have any meaningful contribution their first year in the league.
  11. It has already been specualted the Browns will release him Monday
  12. Spot on... Fitzy is terribly inaccurate and will never be any better than a career backup. Edwards either is inherently too scared to throw the ball into tight coverage or DJ coached the manhood out of him. His problem was not throwing downfield, he took the same number of deep shots as Brees and Manning did in this game. But even then it was a safe throw. He rarely threw the ball up in jump ball situations to tkae advantage of TO's size and for the life of me the Bills never thrown the stop-fade pattern. He does throw a nice fade pattern in the red zone though. His problem is throwing to WR's who are "open" by NFL standards which as pointed out above may only be by 1/2 a step or the WR shielding half his body from the defender. He has the arm strength and accuracy to make the same throws Brees made all season long. If Gailey can restore his confidence maybe he has a chance to be the starter next season.
  13. I saw that too. If they call that and Indy's defense can hold the Saints to no more than one first down it could have still been a 7 point game with enough time on the clock. There were a lot of soft punches thrown at the end of plays especially by the Colts that they let go. Hargrove call was good - classic spearing. Great no call on Vilma pass interfernece as he turned around for the ball a split seond before it was there.
  14. Let's see how many I get right... 1. You are unemployed 2. After your divorce you moved in with your parents 3. You are white 4. You will never leave Buffalo 5. You waste your goverment check on the casino 6. You were so money ... when you were 18
  15. Mike Vrabel made the switch albeit at at around age 29. Schobel is/was a much much better DE than Vrabel ever was, similair size, and Schobel is faster. It can be done though won't be easy. Stroud could be a beast as a 3-4 DE. Too tall and not wide enough for NT. Need to get atleast a serviceable NT in FA or draft. If they plan via the draft they should just trade Schobel because it could take years to develop a rookie NT.
  16. Or better said people in Jax care about other things like SEC football and NASCAR more than NFL football. Or people in Jax have other interests and people in Buffalo have nothing but the Bills and Sabres in their lives....
  17. The Browns sold out for years and that didn't stop Art Modell. Do you really think the guy who buys the Bills when RW dies will care if the stadium sells out? He could move the team to a bigger market sell 10K less seats a game and make double the money with corporate boxes and seat licenses.
  18. Too bad we passed on Deshaun Jackson because we already had a bunch of short recievers. I'll take speed and playmakers over height anyday.
  19. HOw exactly is Bradford the most NFL ready? He plays in a spread offense and has had his shoulder broken twice by guys who are slower and smaller than those he will be hit by in the NFL. Jus say no to a QB in the first round. Do what they should have done for years - fix the offensive line!!!!
  20. Do you really think the players give a rip about the fans?
