Which Failed QB Would Have Been Most Successful
sharper802 replied to grammer_police's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ever since Wade Phillips was let go it has been a case of you just don't know at OBD. Johnson was just too stupid to play the position. All the talent in the world but just plain dumb. The rest of the QB's who the hell knows. The coaches have been so bad there is no way of knowing. Losman played ok with Mularkey as HC and Sam Wyche as QB coach but he may not have been smart enough either. Maybe if they stay Losman continues to develop maybe not. Who knows? Edwards doesn't have Losman's physical ability. The other players know that. That's why Evans wanted Losman. Losman was the ultimate big play guy. Unfortunately the big play didn't happen very often and when it did it usually was him coughing up the ball and creating a big play for the other team. DJ coached not to lose. Trent as a young QB fits that philosophy. Once again we are left wondering does Trent have more to give with a real offensive minded coach or is this all he has. I think it is safe to say Fitzy is awful. You can't teach accuracy IMO. And again noone knows about Brohm. -
We now have 5 tight ends, who stays / who goes & why??

This is a serious question. Does Gailey even intead to use a TE much? He was around when the Chiefs let Gonzales go. Was he with the Cowboys when Novacek was there? I don't recall the Steelers using the TE much when Kordell was the QB. I think the only way they keep 3 TE's is if they don't keep a FB on the roster. Let's hope Nelson continues to develop. The others are barely NFL quality players most of which would not even be training camp fodder for quality teams. I am hoping for three WR sets and a big year from Roscoe. -
And if a white QB missed practice for a wedding what would you say?

What he said! It makes no sense to trade Lynch unless it is straight up for a LT or RT that can be an immediate starter. End of story. Lynch will be the starter.
-
trade package with Schobel and Lynch.

Just stop. A retiring DE and a 3rd string RB worth a second round pick? Randy Moss aka future HOF'er only got a 4th round pick. -
Marshawn to attend this week's OTAs

Now you all can get ready to eat crow and watch Beastmode win the starting RB spot.... -
Seahawks Still Quite Interested In Lynch
sharper802 replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. He is worth more the longer you hold on to him and the more injuries rack up. That include the Bills. I personally think he will be the starter but if indeed fan fav Freddie is the starter there is no guarantee his old bones will make it through the year unscathed. -
Seriously you and others on this board act like high school girls. Boohoo. Grow the F up. Everyone of you know you will be cheering when he beastmode's it in from three yards out in the season opener. Besides there are few RB's that have value to other teams because everyone knows you can draft another guy soon and get near instant production. There is no market for Lynch unless there is a catastophic injury to a starter on a playoff hopeful team. Atlanta, Arizona, Cincinnatti, and Pittsburgh are teams that come to mind with only one or no quality RB's. If you can get some team to overpay like Baltimore did for McGahee go for it. Otherwise sit back and enjoy a Lynch/Spiller version of thunder and lightning.
-
You guys still don't get it. It was the right decision to bring it out. Very good chance the run back gets you past the two minute warning and then it is three kneel downs and game over. He holds onto the ball and DJ probably still has a job. Well maybe not with AVP as OC. Hopefully Leodis, Byrd, Lil Donte, Wilson, Florence, McGee and Corner get enough pass rush from the front seven to show off their skills.
-
It's 7 on 7. Do you really think Gailey would make a decision on his QB based on 7-7 practice drills????
-
He will be the starter. He is going to be the thunder to Spiller's lightning. Get over it. Freddie is going to get old very quickly and DJ is gone. Gailey is going to make Lynch a star again and this entire board is going to have to eat their words.

DiCesare column: Schobel wanted his schedule

Except the games are played on Sunday. Who the hell cares where he wants to be on Monday and Tuesday after games. I wouldn't want to be in Buffalo on a Monday after another Bills loss either... -
Trent Dilfer on Trent Edwards:
sharper802 replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let's be real, AVP was as much of the problem as the O-line was.... -
So they thought Dockery and Walker were ProBowl worthy? It is a business and you pay players based on performance and the players expect to be paid accordingingly. Anything less is a slap in the face. You would feel the same way if you had a job that didn't pay minimum wage.
-
Except it was these contracts that infuriated Jason Peters and forced the team to trade him. He was the third highest paid player, yet he was by far the best player, the only one to go to a ProBowl and played the most important position. So yes it mattered. And for those who say Levy was not in charge it doesn't matter. If he wanted to put his name on the GM position then he has to live with the complete disaster his tenure as GM turned out to be.

Does the Wang injury force a move?
sharper802 replied to BuffaloBlood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are equating a 5th round rookie with a proven starting LT???? Don't be ridiculous. If he is done for the year he goes on IR and we sign some other stiff to be a back-up swing guard- tackle. If we are serious about getting a quality LT then they go after Gaither. My hunch is they are going to stick with Bell at LT and they were hoping Wang might be suitable for RT in a year or two. -
Yeah your are right it never works. Signed, Charles Haley

And then they switched to a 3-4 defense with about half the personnel needed to run it..... 3-13 looks about right unless Edwards or Brohm turns into Drew Brees or Philip Rivers. -

First he needs to walk again before being a Pro-Bowler. I wouldn't hold my breath on him being back before week 8. -

Bills still in play for F. Adams?
sharper802 replied to clearwater cadet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seriously? I think my wife could write a column andlink the Bills to any LT available in the NFL. -
Need you be reminded we could have drafted Deshaun Jackson? But heaven forbid we have two smaller sized WR's.

Mark my words - Freddie and not Marshawn is the odd man out.
