  1. Touchdowns - Consistent decline from 9 in 2004 to 3 last season.

"Numbers" - Two 1000+ yard seasons in the last 5, including last season. And 2 of the last 3 seasons.

Receiving Yards - Ranked 19th last season.

Average Yards Per Reception - 10th (not bad considering)

Receiving Touchdowns - Tied for 61st

Receiving Yards Per Game - 21st

Are all of those affected by the QB, absolutely.

Not sure I'd call them big numbers, but to each his own.

Oh, and I do have to give him props for not missing a game in the last 5 years. Definitely a iron man. Not so much as a sprained toe :)

    agreed

  2. Yeah that is exactly what he is saying. He is a one trick pony and WAY overpaid. Moulds had the entire package. Unfortunately he also smacked around his women and then got himself traded with his actions.

But from a WR standpoint, Moulds was a good all around WR. Lee isn't.

 how isn't lee an all around good reciever? oh cuz he isn't your prototypical reciever size? :)

  3. Of course any receiver would do better with a better QB delivering the ball, and better still when that QB had lots of time to throw it. I just haven't seen anything from Evans to date that leads me to believe he is any kind of "elite" receiver. Like I said above, maybe with some help from TO being there this season he will do better.

well how about the one handed helmet grab last year while keeping his feet in bounds...for a TD? or maybe the fact that he still gets 1000 yds recieving with the inconsistency at QB. Jon Gruden said last night that he believes that Evans is in the Top 3 underrated recievers in this league and could start anywhere else. what else do you need to see to show you that he can be an elite reciever? he can't be "elite" unless he has a QB. but what your saying is that you wanna see him be elite with losman or edwards? not an easy task and he still put up big numbers in the last few yrs.

  4. Based on passed performance I'm not sure Evans would even be starting for half of the teams in the NFL.

Maybe with TO there now the pressure will be off of Evans and he can produce more this season.

so what your saying basically is that he wouldnt thrive with a brady, manning, rivers, brees, or a rodgers?

please tell me your joking?

  5. just sitting thinking about much better moulds could've been if he could've a consistent starter at qb. he put up great numbers but the same thing applies to evans. no consistency......thats why recievers such as harrison (manning), rice (montana and young).

lee evans (bledsoe, losman, holcomb, matthews, edwards) and that doesnt beging to explain how many times quarterbacks were switched on and off during the course of a season. its kinda disheartening to see a guy of evans caliber and talent be held back cuz coaches can't make up their dam minds. it doesnt allow chemistry to be built between a qb and his wr if you keep switching. not that we are now.....just kinda was thinking about it thats all.

    thoughts?

  6. 5. Happy Valley....PSU vs. Michigan

    4. US Open....Federer vs. Nadal

    3. South Bend....USC vs Notre Dame

    2. Williamsport, PA....Little League World Series

    1. Orchard Park, NY....Buffalo Bills vs Miami...wait for it.....in DECEMBER

BONUS: I wouldn't mind seeing the College Football National Champions play an exhibtion game against a pro team.....it'd be interesting to say the least

  7. I predict this is what will happen:

On obvious passing downs, you will see Maybin in at DE in the 4-3. On first downs, Maybin usually will not play. On 2nd and medium to long range, the Bills shift to 3-4 and Maybin comes in at OLB. On 3rd and long we see the 4-3/nickel with Maybin at DE, and 3rd and <5 we see the 3-4 with Maybin at OLB. This is how you mitigate his disadvantage of size vs the running game and exploit his advantage at rushing the quarterback.

The smart thing to do against Maybin is to line up and run the ball right at him. By utilizing a system like the one described above, you assure that they will be running at him in disadvantageous situations most of the time. If the Bills let him play only at DE and on every play, he will become a liability. But if they let him roam between OLB and DE as needed, you get all of the upside with virtually zero downside.

So I don't find it strange that anyone would speculate that he might play OLB, or that the Bills haven't shown everything they intend to do to the world already. I mean as good as BB is, there is no reason to try and surprise him or anything is there?

i didnt see any speculation in that article.......this certainly doesn't sound like speculation...."and first-round pick LB Aaron Maybin" or this...."The addition of LB Maybin should help in this regard on throwing downs"

  8. Not all that strange. Hopefully he turns into a Terrell Suggs clone. Part OLB part DE. Perhaps he is the key to in-game swithces from a 4-3 to 3-4. Spencer Johnson oddly may be the other key as he has the size to play a 3-4. Could you imagine a line of Denney, Stroud, Johnson with Maybin, Mitchell, Poz, and Schobel at LB's. I am not saying that is a great or even wise but it would be a way to switch back and forth as DJ has hinted at.

im only saying it strange cuz he hasnt taken any reps at olb this off season....all at DE...not saying i wouldnt mind him at olb in a 3-4 cuz that would make sense...just saying...i found that article strange calling him a lb when hes been at de all of the preseason and off season

  9. Why is that strange? Many people, myself included, have predicted this since draft day. It makes sense to make an undersized DE with great acceleration on the edge into an OLB, and I've felt it was pretty obvious that was the intention from the beginning.

i find it strange cuz we run a 4-3 not a 3-4......maybin would be a great OLB in a 3-4....not in a 4-3 when we already have mitchell, poz, and (ellison or harris) thats why its strange...plus i havent heard of him taking any reps at olb.....and both preseason games he was in...lined up at DE....strange.....
