  1. Ignoring Tyrod Taylor and Stephon Gilmore questions which are polarizing on this forum. Kyle Williams is thinking about retiring, why would he restructure? Why should Shady restructure coming off the year he just had? While it might be nice for Dareus to restructure, grow up or we move him, I really don't see us getting anything in return given his contract and repeat offender issues. Plus we can't realistically cut him with his dead cap number so what incentive does he have to restructure. Felton is more of a question of if they want a blocking FB or a catching FB in the new offense. Seems like he is ignoring the role Felton played in us setting franchise marks for rushing. The roster listed at the bottom looked weaker than this years roster. To name a couple of things.
  2. I disagree with so much of this I don't know where to start.
  3. If you were the Patriots and you thought your division rival Buffalo Bills were a good QB away from being a threat to you and you believe you have a QB that could help get them to that level why would you trade that player to them. Even if we offered the most I wouldn't make that deal if I were the Patriots. The only way I would if I were them is if I believed Garropolo wasn't good enough to make difference like that to the Bills.
  4. I seriously doubt the Patriots would trade us a young good QB since we are in their division. If they would it would be a red flag to me that there is probably something we aren't seeing.
  5. Agree with pretty much all of this but would make a couple of small changes. I'd draft Corey Davis in the first then take a safety in the second like Melinfonwu. I think Gilmore is solid but seeing what McDermott did with Norman who was a late round pick I'm fine trusting him to identify someone who can do the job cheaper than what it will take to keep Gilmore.
  6. Or EJ Manuel situation. There are more cases where teams reach for a guy they want and say is their guy and he doesn't pan out than the other way around. Is anyone worried about his release point? He's 6 foot 3 so it might not matter but it looks low and loopy. Wondering how that will work for intermediate routes over the middle in the NFL.
  7. Not at 10. He has potential but some of the throws I've seen him get away with at the college level wouldn't fly in the NFL. Ball placement was off a lot in what I have seen. Not to say he won't be good but I wouldn't take the chance at 10.
  8. I understand Tyrod is not a top quarterback like everyone would love to have, but it could be a lot worse. Our two best scoring offenses in the last 10 year have been these past two years under Tyrod. In that same time period there have been 58 QBs drafted in the first 3 rounds! Obviously a ton of those have been busts. I'm fine drafting and developing but just giving that rookie or Cardale the job is no guarantee our offense will improve no matter what weaknesses Tyrod has.
  9. I'd be okay with Desean Jackson, I actually hadn't heard that rumor. Actually if we got him I would be fine not going WR in round 1, I just didn't think he was a real option given our cap situation and the fact that I thought he would get about $9-$10 mil a year ( just a guess since I've been hearing $7 for Woods).
  10. I love Sammy but sadly I agree. I understand a lot of the points people make about Tyrod, I'm just also being realistic about what you can expect from any of the guys in the draft. I think it would be difficult for any QB to succeed if we don't go into the season with a better WR2 and WR3. I'm up for drafting a QB in the 2nd but would like any QB to walk in with a viable WR corp even if Sammy goes down.
  11. It's okay arguing with FireChan is like arguing with a brick wall. No matter how logical your argument once he has a point of view he won't change it.
  12. I wouldn't mind keeping Woods, I've heard he could get up to $7 mil per though and that just seems like too much with all of our needs and our cap situation though.
  13. Thanks for your reply. I know everyone has different opinions on Tyrod, but I would keep Tyrod and go WR in the first. Here's the rest of what I would do: WR1: Watkins WR2: Corey Davis (1st Rounder) WR3: Cooper Kupp (3rd Rounder) if hes gone Zay Jones or JuJu Smith-Schuster WR4: Listenbee WR5: Re-sign Justin Hunter WR6: Walt Powell Personally I think Tyrod could succeed with these weapons and I think that there are CB and Safety options in FA that McDermott could make work.
  14. Given that we have Woods, Goodwin and Hunter all going to FA I am trying to figure out how we address WR this offseason. I know a lot of people are saying QB in the first round, which would seem to rule out WRs like Davis, Williams and Ross in the draft, so I'm wondering how would people address WR through FA and the draft.
  15. I think it's unfair to say he hasn't drafted any blue chippers. Sammy is one he just gets injured too often. Kiko was an all pro his rookie year, his injury just completely messed him up. Darby was almost defensive rookie of the year, yes he played terrible last year but he could bounce back, maybe there was something going on there. It's also too early to count Lawson and Ragland as busts, same for Brown in my opinion. All 3 have been injured.
  16. Hahaha I'm willing to bet everything I have that one of those 3 QBs doesn't pan out and if we took one that didn't 2 years from now you would want to blame Whaley because we didn't draft one of the all pros available at that spot.
  17. Agreed, Romo gets hurt in Dallas behind a great o line, imagine him in Buffalo in the cold. Mayock says he'd be scared to take any QB this year in the first, you want EJ 2.0? Juju could also be gone by the 3rd and all we have is Sammy at WR now with this plan. Even if Romo stays healthy his only WR will be double covered all day.
  18. At the end of the day I'd rather have the roster he constructed last year than 2/3 of the other teams in the league. We just had terrible coaching and some injuries. In my book that's a good GM especially in a small market like Buffalo.
  19. When is the last time a team resigned all of their picks from a draft class? That's an unrealistic expectation. The Patriots have had multiple terrible drafts with more than 8 picks, should Bellicheck be fired from making personnel decisions? Even of the 8, 1 was a kicker we brought in for competition, 1 is a wide receiver that some are saying will get paid close to 7 mil a year and 1 was traded before his contract came up.
  20. Even if you count the 2013 draft it's still not 15 picks, plus we traded Alonso so you can't count him.
  21. 2014 was his first draft as GM none of those deals are up yet.
  22. You're mentioning 7th round picks as busts, most of those don't work out. Sammy is good but injured all the time, that's bad luck. Kiko was an all pro who he flipped for Shady who helped us lead the league in rushing. I also forgot to mention he got Jerry Hughes too. Talent wasn't the issue, injuries and bad coaching was the issue.
  23. I'm sick of the "Whaley is bad at his job crap." As a GM he has been able to identify scrap heap guys like Alexander, Zach Brown, Tyrod Taylor, Chris Hogan and Richie Incognito and bring them in on cheap deals and get great production out of them. Our offense has improved significantly and if Rex could have kept the defense performing at a high level we would have easily made the playoffs. Did he make a mistake drafting EJ? Sure but lots of GMs draft QBs that don't work out. There are about 20 teams out there that are still looking for one, you have to get lucky. If it were easy then Tom Brady, Russell Wilson, Drew Brees and Dak Prescott would have all been early first round picks.
  24. Unless they plan on drafting a WR in the first I think they need to address WR with quantity and quality in FA.
  25. I think any QB will fail with our current group of WRs. Sammy is the only talented one in the bunch and he's always injured.
