  1. Ya know what else is dumb? 8 f'ing threads about Tebow. I hope we draft him. I actually think he'd be good for the Bills... but as an added bonus I get to watch this board explode for the next 4 weeks with "Chan's an idiot, fire Buddy, I'm done as a Bills fan and the ever famous I've been a season ticket holder for x amount of years and this is unacceptable" posts. At this point of a QB's career it really doesn't matter what he is now it matters what coaches do with him once he arrives. Great coaches make great or at least serviceable QB's.
  2. That's a good point actually, the opposite of mine but I like it... bring in stars and the rest will come. But are there currently stars out there? Seems like they have been eaten up already.
  3. The Bills are feeding us "we're a couple players away." You and I know that's in all likelihood BS, but the average fan doesn't or might buy it anyway. So if that's the case and they are a couple away, then they, and hell so do I, want to see Buddy go out and get them. Even if they lose this year, it would be nice to see them try and mix things up a bit. I don't want big names really, just players who have had success be given a try. Like Derek Anderson for example... there's no harm talking to him or even signing him to be part of the competition. If he sucks then cut him... same for all positions. We're basically at a point where everything is wide open now, so bring in people to compete is all I want, and if we cut them and keep what we have that's cool. And no I'm not trying start a Derek Anderson conversation here, just making AN EXAMPLE.
  4. Nah, I mean it sucks but that was then with a different coaching staff and a different front office (for the most part). Plus the former coaching staff didn't get through to those players that we still have for now... maybe Chan and his clan (I'm a poet) will get through to them. If they don't or don't think they will then trade them away and be done with it... look forward not backward right now...
  5. I think it's just that we have seen these guys we currently have... they played a lot of uninteresting, uninspired, boring and BAD football. Some of them for more than a few years now. I think people look at it like "if the core players we currently have are so good and are on the verge, then why can they not score, defend, or more importantly WIN?" Why are we not talking to people who have had some success or may be the right team away from being good? I wonder the same things... especially on the Offensive line which was just GOD AWFUL. I'd like to see more activity there and I just really want to see a fresh face competing for the starting QB gig.
  6. I just want everyone on here to know that when the Bills are playing boring uninspired football I turn off the TV. When they are playing well I don't turn off the TV. Also if they Draft Tebow I will be excited, and if he fails I'll say he sucks. Also I want to state these things to all of you because when you call me names I weep for days and days because I really care about all of you whom I've never ever met and may never meet. It's sports kids... **** talking and calling you a band wagon is part of it. If you can't handle that and need to preempt these things by putting up a post like this then go talk on the Florida Panthers message board where there are no fans and they don't care, so no one will pick on you. Maybe I'm being mean good Lord... really?
  7. I disagree. I think everyone thinks he's worth more, but he's never cracked 1500 yards, he had a poor campaign last season, and has off field problems. I'm not saying their isn't potential there, all I'm saying the numbers are the numbers and the facts are the facts. Potential at this position doesn't lead to much in trade value because lots of running backs have potential. You're not stupid for thinking this, and if by more than a 4th you mean a 3rd, sure there's at least a conversation there, but others think he's worth a 2nd and I think that's ludicrous.
  8. Anderson has done it over an entire season successfully once. That's 1 more season than any QB on our roster. I'll take it so long as we aren't closing the gates to other options as well. Assuming of course this isn't Tim in Cheektadunkirk from his mom's, er, roommate's basement making this up. Besides we don't need Donte anymore but we do need options at QB. How about we get Anderson but release Fitz... I'm fine with that.
  9. THANK YOU that's exactly how it needs to be... and if it happens to fall in to place earlier it's a nice and welcomed (and long overdue) surprise.
  10. Why are you worried? I ask because truly, there's nothing to worry about. We're not winning a Super Bowl next year. We'll be very lucky to be a playoff contender next year. Instead of worrying just be glad we seem to be on the right path so far and if all goes well they'll get there. Too many of you worry about a football team... worry about your kids or something. By all means be passionate about them, but stop worrying when it's 4 days removed from the Super Bowl.
  11. Gone: Ralph Wilson. Not to be morbid but we're playing a game here so there's my thought. also Denny, McCargo, everyone who played right tackle this year, Hamden, Fitz, Parish, Reed, Ellison
  12. Too many people hinge on what these guys say to reporters. It's laughable. No one knows what kind of teammate McNabb is and you certainly can't base it off of TO. Look at what matters: wins. He wins a lot. No not a Super Bowl, but he has always fought hard. I've never seen a QB hit slumps and bounce back as well as McNabb. THAT does say a lot about his character as a player. We're just trying to have a competitive team here, let's not analyze this too much. McNabb would help us do that but won't be a savior, and shouldn't be. If he comes here be glad we got a guy that can play. No he's not the long term answer but if we're going to be a run first team (which makes sense) then we need a proven guy like McNabb who can, and more importantly knows how to, manage the damn game properly. If Favre retires though forget McNabb... he would never come here over Minnesota who would be a Super Bowl contender again with McNabb.
  13. If they don't go with the throwbacks full time then I wish they'd do a full overhaul: logo, colors, everything. Again, aside from the 60's throwbacks I actually wish we'd dump the red, white and blue. I guess I just think it's lame. I get the possible meanings behind the colors (ranging from Buffalo being an All-America city to being based on the former Buffalo All-Americans Football team), but the colors bore me. I have literally nothing to offer with new ideas or even colors, I just wanted to vent that.
  14. My dad could beat up your dad.
  15. I'm confused... we hired a head coach already... so why would you even post about a head coach as stated in the subject of this thread??
  16. I mean... dude is old. So are Buddy and Ralph, but maybe Marty is enjoying doing his own thing.
  17. For most people they aren't angry about the candidates, they are angry Bill Cowher isn't interested/interested more. Bills fans are at that breaking point right meow. They have had a decade of losing... you know this. They are scared the team will leave, and perhaps also leave without ever giving them another shot at a Super Bowl again. Many, probably most, are hurting for money, they can't justify season tickets again not only to themselves but their wives LOL. My point is breaking this all down the way you did makes all sorts of sense and you are right. The bottom line is we really won't know where we're at with a new coach, even an experienced one, until we start playing real games again. I'm just trying to shed light on all the people who are bitching... they are just frustrated, scared, and tired.
  18. and this one made me want to kill myself. F***
  19. That video sucked. JMO.
  20. I really don't have a problem with the Tampa 2. I have a problem with the players they have playing it. Our defense wasn't spectacular but how the hell could they be? Freaking offense was so bad the defense barely had a chance to catch their breath. Plays our training stuff clearly was terrible at conditioning these guys. And for all of you who want a 3-4... do we have the linebackers to do that? Maybe... but we do NOT have the D-line to do that, especially if Schobel retires? No, we don't. 4 of them can't stop the run, 3 of them def. won't. I realize schemes play into that but I don't think we have the LB's to create the havoc necessary. Remember also, this might be an uncapped year, meaning the chance of this team changing drastically from what it is now is slim, thus the free agents to make a switch might not come here. Or I could be wrong and Chris Kelsay will literally star eating people's babies next year.
  21. Can I just say that if they go get another freaking coordinator that "blew them away" in an interview, they better shell out the big bucks for players. I have zero patience for being told once again we have to be economical. I agree we need to build through the draft and that's the key to success, but if there are great free agents out there or respectable trades, we need to make those happen. No Derek Dockerys either LOL. But this also applies to our draft picks. Maybe I'm delusional, and you all will call me an a-hole if I'm wrong which I fully expect, but it seems our first round draft picks hold out every year because they are trying to nickel and dime him down to the lowest possible pay grade. When it comes to training camp I can't imagine something more important for a rookie to be a part of, yet every year our signature draft pick misses most of it. This crap has to end, especially if they are going to low ball us on a coach again.
  22. Thanks for explaining. This is a "what have you done for me lately league (and world)." He did nothing this year, so lately he's not worth much. Now, is he worth nothing? No, of course not. Many teams would probably like to have him. The problem is you sound like a typical Bills fan with delusions of what reality is. 1000 yards, as previously stated already, is not a huge accomplishment anymore and neither is back to back 1000 yard season. It's note worthy, but not 1st round pick worthy, even at 30-32. RB's are a dime a dozen because whatever you get in the 1st, 2nd, and third rounds are probably healthier, faster, and will give you the same production or more as Lynch. Granted they aren't proven but you give up nothing to draft a guy. So at best you're looking at a 4th. Add in his off field problems and you can see how teams wouldn't want to give up a lot for him straight up. Remember, this is not a team full of great players. The only person on this team worth a first rounder is... is... hell I'm not sure actually. Do we have one? Not being a smart a$$, I'm serious...
  23. QB - Michael Vick. I don't want this, I just think it's gonna happen.
  24. Right! So I am dying to hear why he thinks this is feasible.
  25. Explain to me why Lynch is worth their 1st round pick please.
