  1. There has been endless speculation on the future of the Buffalo Bills once Ralph Wilson passes on. But I've heard little, if any discussion on the teams future in Buffalo after their current stadium lease expires following the 2012 season. If Ralph is still alive and in control of the team. Any thoughts?

the buyout of the lease is so miniscule that the 2012 date is no deterrent to leaving.

the stadium is old, the lease will be renewed, but for very short periods, no more than 5 years at a time.

any talk of a new stadium will only occur with a new owner.

  2. is apparently working on who the Bills will sign. Additonally, apparently Tom Modrak is busily working on the draft, which will occur just a few weeks after free agency begins. One would think the Bills would want the new personnel team in place as soon as possible for the critical evaluation of the new talent the Bills must bring in this off season. How long does GM Nix need to evaluate their records? (I know he's interviewing coaches; I'd hope our GM could do two things at once.)

just for discussion purposes, it appears that Dick Jauron had a very heavy hand in final decisions. that Marv and Russ let him have his way.

John Guys job is to put a rating or grade on every current NFL player. He presents his list to the GM or person with FINAL SAY. wether or not they followed his advice, we don't know. wether or not his advice was any good, we don't know. wether or not the bills over or under pay the FA is probably NOT John Guys job. his job was to evaluate talent.

  3. After retiring as a player, he became the quarterback coach for the Miami Dolphins in 2005–2006 and then, in January 2007, he was hired by the Dallas Cowboys as offensive coordinator. His influence made the Cowboys the 2nd best offense in the NFL making him an attractive head coaching prospect. Despite persistent offers from the Baltimore Ravens and the Atlanta Falcons, Garrett refused head coaching jobs and opted to remain in Dallas. His salary in the 2008 season will be close to $3 million and will be the highest paid assistant coach in the NFL.[4] With Garrett staying, some expect him to succeed Wade Phillips as the head coach of the Cowboys, though there is nothing within his contract to suggest this. On December 29th 2008 the Detroit Lions received permission to speak to Garrett regarding the teams head coaching vacancy according to ESPN sources. The Denver Broncos interviewed him in January 2009 as a possible replacement for recently fired coach Mike Shanahan. He was also a finalist for the St. Louis Rams head coaching position, to replace Jim Haslett, the interim head coach. Ultimately, he lost the job to Steve Spagnuolo after appearing a lock to become their next head coach. When word leaked that Garrett was flying to meet with the Rams, fans flooded the ticket office with angry calls.

he does have 4 pro bowl players on offense ( Austin(WR), Davis(OL), Gurode (OL) & Witten(TE).

he specializes in QB's....i do think he has done wonders for Romo.

  4. "I am ecstatic to come to work for the New York Giants," Fewell said. "It's a good football team with good defensive players, and it is a franchise known for defense."

you see a "slight" around every corner.

EXAMPLE: "hey Darth, you look good today"

DarthICE ......"What are you saying, i looked like chit yesterday ? "

  5. Clayton on WGR w/ Schopp and Bulldog said Wilson doesn't want Marty in Buffalo. There you go, Smithers at his meddling best.

i heard that piece........everyone of his comments started with......

    " maybe......

    " i'm thinking that.....

    " possibly........

they all ended with: .........that's what i'm hearing" (from schefter's cubicle).

guy was struggling and guessing at every answer.

  6. Keep this date in your calendars. This was heard on a radio station and as part of a certain Thurman Thomas weekly show, that the Buffalo Bills have big time news on 1/15/2010 that will impress the fans and be shocking.

Thurman would not go into the news on the radio, but I am guessing that perhaps this is tied to Coach Sal's report of Cowher being interested in the Bills. Maybe this is the date that they are targeting as the signing and turning around of the Buffalo Bills Franchise or the Ownership status and a heir taking over and keeping the team in buffalo.

merry Jan 15th eve.......it's so exciting.....i wonder what we will all get.....

  7. We need Joe Logan, we need him to create another report. The threads have been lacking lately without him.

Hey Jumping Joe Logan where did you go????

i emailed Joe Logan a link to the You-tube video that makes fun of him regarding cowher.......he emailed me back saying... "My wife was upset, but it was one of the funniest things I have ever seen.."

btw....he came out with a report late last night.....

  9. You are probably correct about the Kelly connection. If so, Kelly needs to back away and let Buddy Nix complete the process. Buddy Nix has played a supporting role most of his career. Any lack of experience can only mean lack of experience in being THE guy. Nix is probably not a "natural leader" type of person and so he's never been promoted to the top spot before. He's the guy that REALLY knows what to do and makes OTHER people above him look good while not getting the credit. Some people go through their entire careers like this -- the know what they are doing, but perhaps don't outwardly appear to be confident in themselves (or are just very content to take a back seat role) and so they never reach the top spot. But that doesn't mean guys like this can't succeed being the top guy. Let Nix grow into this new role a bit and he'll be just fine.

i love the buddy nix pick......i think his expertise in talent evaluating will be the key to our success. having said that, coaching is the next most important piece. while cowher is not my first choice (i want marty) he is a great choice. i think cowher is hung up on power (final say on draft), i want nix to have that.
