  1. Vick would be an upgrade over anything we have on the roster right now. He has an advantage in EVERY category over every QB on our roster. Faster, stronger arm, read defenses, experience, former probowler, okay maybe not durabliity but.....this team is ready to contend....if we had a qb we would be a playoff team....sign Vick and let him compete......and please people keep something in mind.....Thad lewis played even with ej manuel last year....and coming into the season thad only had 1 or 2 starts....sign Vick and let the best man win....vick is a good locker room guy too...no reason not to sign him....there arent any qb free agent options out there that would be better for the bills

  2. Everyone seems to be focused on drafting a big WR when we actually have a good lineup of WR's and the guys that will be available at 9 are no sure things. We have Stevie, Woods and Goodwin. TJ Graham sucks and should be released. Those of you wanting to release Stevie are crazy. He is still our best WR and if we find someone to take pressure off him, I think he still has some great years left.

I think yo go into the season with Stevie, Woods and Goodwin as 1, 2, 3 on your depth chart. If you draft someone high you will displace one of them, when I think they could all have great seasons. I realize none of them have great size but that it seems that is all that people care about when talking about WR's. We drafted for size alone a few years ago and came up with James Hardy, remember that one? Sammy Watkins doesn't have great size but if he is there when the Bills pick (which he won't be) and they take another big WR over him, it would be horrendous.

So how do the Bills solve there big receiving target problem? Draft Eric freaking Ebron. Ebron is 6'4", 250 lb, athletic feak, with 4.5 speed and most importantly, he has shown that it translates on the field. He will likely be there when the Bills pick and it would be nice to see the Bills get with the times and draft an athletic pass catching tight end. Ebron could have a Jimmy Graham or Rob Gronkowski type impact and I think could be a difference maker from day one. Also if teams have to start accounting for Ebron, that will give room for Stevie and Woods to tear up the defense while Goodwin puts the fear of God into them by going deep.

If the Bills pass on Ebron I believe they will regret it. The only way I do not take Ebron is if one of the top 3 QB's, Bridwater, Bortles and Manziel, or Sammy Watkins is still on the board. I highly, highly doubt that will happen. Clowney will obviously be gone. Mack is the only other prospect I would consider over Ebron at that point.

Greg Robinson and Jake Matthews are great prospects and I don't think they would be bad picks at 9, but game changing TE's are much harder to find than offensive lineman and the offensive tackle position isn't as important in the passing game as it was 10-15 years ago, with offenses designed to get the ball out quicker. So I would take Ebron over either of them which is saying a lot, because considering Matthews bloodline and pedigree, he will likely be a HOF NFL tackle.

I think drafting Ebron at 9 would give the Bills a fantastic balance at WR/TE. Stevie, a great route runner, who finds ways to get open and can tear up defenses when he is not the main target as a defender. Woods is also seems to be a very good route runner, with more speed than Stevie and probably better hands. Goodwin who may have the most talent of any of them is obviously a burner who can score any time he touches the ball and can stretch the defense. Add Ebron to that who is a big, strong, fast, athletic TE who will be too fast for linebackers and too big for safeties.

Draft Ebron and address the offensive line in free agency and the 2nd and third rounds. Try to find a big sleeper receiver in the later rounds. Do that and we are doing everything we can to give Manuel a chance. If he can't succeed with that, then we look for a QB next year.

On a side note: I would love the Bills to see if Joe Thomas is available. He has made 7 straight Pro Bowls and arguable the best LT in the NFL. He has been critical of the Browns front office and we are a couple years ahead of the Browns in the rebuild. Maybe if we offer our second round pick we could snag him up. He is 29 but has 4 years left on his contract and will likely play at a Pro Bowl level until he is at least 35.

Even if you had to give up a 3rd or 4th next year I would still do it. Thomas at LT, Wood at C, Glenn at RT, Ubrik at RG, and sign a quality free agent LG. Then you would probably have the best offensive line in the NFL or close to it. An offensive line like that with, Jackson, Spiller, Ebron, Stevie, Woods, and Goodwin as targets... That would show me the Bills are serious and would give Manuel a sick surrounding cast. If they did that I could forgive them for then trading Byrd.

Finally a post that I agree with most. I'd say substitute Graham with Goodwin and then I agree much more. Well said and great idea

  3. Thad has one career start more than E.J. coming in to this year......when Thad went under center as a starter, he had less starts than e.j.......Thad's play is more or less equal to that of E.J.......E.J. is getting the nod because of his 1st round status and therefore is seen as having a higher upside. They are both young with limited experience and should be given an equal chance to develop and compete........heck even Tuel did okay in his start.........having said all of that, I'd like to see the Bills draft a QB 1st round If the guy they want is there....I don't want any2nd or 3rd rounders......

  4. We don't need a high draft pick receiver if we don't have the right guy throwing him the ball. We need to use that high pick on another QB. Receiver is one of our strongest positions on the roster. A starting three of JOhnson, Woods and Goodwin is very formidable. Graham, 7 11, and Easley are good depth guys. I'd rather see them draft a gang changing "weapon" at the tight end position.

  5. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Teams will have more time to game plan and take away Goodwin out of the game. Having said that, he is probably our best receiver. I think I'd rather see the Bills start Goodwin and Graham the rest of the way. All that speed on the field opens it up. If not Graham maybe Woods. But there is no way Goodwin should not be a full time starter. Even Hogan looked good in his role. The Bills have huge amounts of talent at WR.

I see Goodwin and Woods as possibly being a Jackson Macklin like combo.

  6. Aaron Williams is a playmaker. He improved so much since last year. Happy for him as well........if both he and Byrd' contract was expiring this year (which I know isn't the case) I would take him over Byrd. A.W."s versatility is very valuable and he's very young and brings a swag.

  7. how about we release you for creating this thread.

A free agent rookie qb getting his first start against the only undefeated team in the league and you guys want to jump all over the guy. If he doesn't make the mistake in the endzone we win the game.

You guys are forgetting something. When Flynn was available as a free agent, his o.c. just got the gig in Miami. Miami was in need of a qb and had little to no interest in Flynn. And what did Flynn go on to do since leaving g.b.?

For all of you guys crying for Flynn. He obviously wasn't the answer. As I said, earlier. The head coach from Dolphins didn't want him and he was his O.C. during Flynn's time at G. B. Since then, Flynn lost to a rookie, was beat out by a supplemental draft player and now cut again.

  9. For the people who are bashing the Tuel......keep this in mind.....not only is he a rookie....not only did he go undrafted.....this will be his first start.....and this week he didn't even get all of the 1st string snaps...he had to split them with Flynn...and he is going against the team with the best record in the league......Rookie season people.....I know he sucked in Clevland, but he looked really good during pre season. Let's give him a chance. I bet many people (including myself) were worried as heck about Thad's first start. I am sure most of us did not predict that he would be as good as he was. Who ever thought we all would be hoping that Thad freakin Lewis would be under center for the start of a game. The point, Very few believed in Thad and he came threw. Let's give Tuel support

  10. Some of you guys are so fickle. I remember after that pre season game, people were all about Tuel. Calling for him to be number 2 ahead of Kolb. Heck even some wanted to see he and E.J. compete for starting job. He got thrown into a national tv game and looked terrible and everyone is all over the kid. Look, lets throw the kid out there and see what he does. If it doesn't look well remember, it'll be his first time starting in his rookie season........cut the kid a break.

Also, show some trust in the coaches. The obviously want to win. If they don't put Flynn in there, obviously there is a reason for it. They aren't trying to tank games or anything.

  11. I think when people get carried away by saying he was a top 5 corner, they were judging him relative to being a first year corner. As a first year corner he was good. Not excellent but above average. You absolutely cannot grade this guy this year. You just can't until that cast comes off. If anything, how about we give the guy some damn credit for going out there with a cast while Byrd spent damn near half the season complaining of sore feet.

  12. This just in. Kevin Kolb sucks and we brought him in to compete vs EJ.

This just in Matt Lienart sucks and we brought him in.

This just in Matt Flynn sucks. (Well maybe not just in. This is old info)

This just in. Dont care if flynn is 2,3,4 or 8th qb on the team. I dont want his rejected ass on the team.

This just in. Tired of typing this just in.

Another stupid money move. Pay the guy (Flynn) like $8.75-12.63 per hour if he plays and nothing if he rides the bench.

Bringing in Flynn on a year deal is a good move. Manuel is out for a while. And if Thad were to get injured, Tuel would have been in the game. Flynn would probably give the team a better chance to win than Tuel. The coach already stated that he views Tuel as a practice squad/developmental QB this year.

  13. I hope this thread is a joke. Stephon Gilmore was already a top 5 corner in the entire NFL by the end of last season. We would be having a very surprising season if he had been healthy all year rather than having Justin Rogers cover top WRs. If there is ANY PROBLEMS on this team Stephon Gilmore would NEVER be considered one of them. With that being said he is playing with one arm. That speaks to how good he is. He is better with one arm than anyone else we have with two arms. Obviously he isnt going to be flawless with one available arm to him. This guy is an absolute star.

This thread is absurd. You have a corner back running around with a damn club on his hand. How in the heck is he supposed to be productive as a 2nd year player with that thing on his hand? In all of my years of watching football, I have never seen a DB out there with that thing on his hand. So you cannot judge this guy. To say that he was a top 5 corner in NFL is a huge reach. Can't believe on the back of a win, people are picking on a DB out there trying to battle with a club on his hand.
