Aaron Williams is a playmaker. He improved so much since last year. Happy for him as well........if both he and Byrd' contract was expiring this year (which I know isn't the case) I would take him over Byrd. A.W."s versatility is very valuable and he's very young and brings a swag.

For all of you guys crying for Flynn. He obviously wasn't the answer. As I said, earlier. The head coach from Dolphins didn't want him and he was his O.C. during Flynn's time at G. B. Since then, Flynn lost to a rookie, was beat out by a supplemental draft player and now cut again.

how about we release you for creating this thread. A free agent rookie qb getting his first start against the only undefeated team in the league and you guys want to jump all over the guy. If he doesn't make the mistake in the endzone we win the game. You guys are forgetting something. When Flynn was available as a free agent, his o.c. just got the gig in Miami. Miami was in need of a qb and had little to no interest in Flynn. And what did Flynn go on to do since leaving g.b.?

Gaughan: Tuel likely starter, 15 of 18 sacks on QB
NoName replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For the people who are bashing the Tuel......keep this in mind.....not only is he a rookie....not only did he go undrafted.....this will be his first start.....and this week he didn't even get all of the 1st string snaps...he had to split them with Flynn...and he is going against the team with the best record in the league......Rookie season people.....I know he sucked in Clevland, but he looked really good during pre season. Let's give him a chance. I bet many people (including myself) were worried as heck about Thad's first start. I am sure most of us did not predict that he would be as good as he was. Who ever thought we all would be hoping that Thad freakin Lewis would be under center for the start of a game. The point, Very few believed in Thad and he came threw. Let's give Tuel support -

Some of you guys are so fickle. I remember after that pre season game, people were all about Tuel. Calling for him to be number 2 ahead of Kolb. Heck even some wanted to see he and E.J. compete for starting job. He got thrown into a national tv game and looked terrible and everyone is all over the kid. Look, lets throw the kid out there and see what he does. If it doesn't look well remember, it'll be his first time starting in his rookie season........cut the kid a break. Also, show some trust in the coaches. The obviously want to win. If they don't put Flynn in there, obviously there is a reason for it. They aren't trying to tank games or anything. -
Is Stephon Gilmore an above average CB???
NoName replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think when people get carried away by saying he was a top 5 corner, they were judging him relative to being a first year corner. As a first year corner he was good. Not excellent but above average. You absolutely cannot grade this guy this year. You just can't until that cast comes off. If anything, how about we give the guy some damn credit for going out there with a cast while Byrd spent damn near half the season complaining of sore feet. -
another thread that should be closed.

Matt Flynn on flight to Buffalo, (update - now signed)
NoName replied to Punch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bringing in Flynn on a year deal is a good move. Manuel is out for a while. And if Thad were to get injured, Tuel would have been in the game. Flynn would probably give the team a better chance to win than Tuel. The coach already stated that he views Tuel as a practice squad/developmental QB this year. -

This thread is absurd. You have a corner back running around with a damn club on his hand. How in the heck is he supposed to be productive as a 2nd year player with that thing on his hand? In all of my years of watching football, I have never seen a DB out there with that thing on his hand. So you cannot judge this guy. To say that he was a top 5 corner in NFL is a huge reach. Can't believe on the back of a win, people are picking on a DB out there trying to battle with a club on his hand. -

how long is Flynns deal? That will really bring clarity to things. If its a 3 year deal, they have to see this guy as e.j.s true backup. if its a one year deal, i see it as a bandaid intel type thing. i think this much is clear, they dont wanna see tuel anywhere near the football field this year. -

Now that's an excellent post. I wish some the bills writers did this type of analysis. -
Thaddeus Lewis starting against Bengals

I just wondered why they never considered bringing Tarvaris Jackson back. I am sure they could have gotten him back for a 7th rounder. The guy has taken a team to the playoffs. He couldn't have been that bad. -
this is all about coaching I think....go back to this time last year. Most people had Mckelvin and Williams and draft bust....now look at this year? These guys are on the brink of playing at a pro bowl level. How does 2 db's go from being burried at the bottom of the depth chart to this level of production and one year? New coaching staff and scheme. Brought out the best and these 2 guys. Until Gilmore gets back, I'd like to see Williams and Mckelvin at CB Robey at nickel And Byrd and Leonhard at Safety Searcy Dime. And when Gilmore comes back who would you send to the bench???? I am sure the obvious answer would be Leonhard but I that guy has been a stud this year. I am really feeling that our secondary (healthy) is one of the biggest strengths on this team.

Piling onto the ROOKIE EJ Manuel is moronic

I totally agree.....but after reading the forums, I am going to stay patient with the rookie.....but I have to admit, I don't see why everyone seems so impressed with his "poise" -

I found this post very helpful. I was really hard on E.J. Good reminder to stay patient and give the guy time. -

DearTBD: I think E.J. should throw more check downs. He is far to aggressive for my taste. Sincerely, Trent Edwards -

I mean look at Chan Gailey....look at the production he got out of Stevie and Spiller......he put these guys in position to thrive. That's what coaching is about.....I can do a better job than Hackett. -

Hackett is the worst play caller the Bills have had since the beginning of time. E.J. looks terrible. He is basically Trent Edwards with more wheels. I get that he is rookie so there is hope for him. But Hackett is the equivalent of Wanny. Another 4 win season. -
Wow! That really puts things into perspective. Now that I think about it, there was a similar pleed from Bills fan to give Stevie some reps based on his pre season and very limited action he received. I really think Easley can be a really good receiver. But like another poster said, this is the second group of coaches. And if they aren't putting him in there must be a reason.
