  1. Sadly, Hightower is a decent back...Torain will probably be the lead back going into this weekends game with Helu taking some reps! I believe Santana Moss is already scheduled to not play this weekend...
  2. Another interesting point, going back to Beck's college days at BYU...the majority of John Beck's games under center...the offense sputters in the first quarter. By the second half, Beck adapts and the offense stats tend to increase. Granted, like his college days, his performance in pro games tend to be similar, but the only difference in pro game starts he is 0-6... However, he still has issues with slow starts and also has issues when defenses confuse and mask their plays. Beck, even going back to college, falters under pressure on blitz packages! When he does sense the blitz, instead tucking and running, he quickly dumps it off to either the TE or RB. Since, the Bills don't have no pass rush--which is evident....Buffalo needs to get some pressure on Beck. Also, getting out to an early lead is a must! Fantasy wise, Fred Davis will get an increase in looks by Beck...Beck loves to utilize his TE's and Davis is available in almost every league I'm in!
  3. anytime a pro Maybin post is posted, a cheektowaga mom gains 2 lbs!
  4. I'm trying to be nice...it's just not going to work!
  5. The recent news of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, being labeled in Roger Goodell's qoute as, "a global franchise." Has sparked some talk, that the move of having the Bucs play one-two games annually in London, will not only benefit the NFL, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers! The Buccaneers London Series Dilemma... Granted, there could be another potential team playing a regular season home game in London, but as of right now--The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the leading team to play the London series... Now, would this move benefit Tampa?...PUSH!....Since 2007, Tampa has only sold out a handful of games. The outlook for the rest of the 2011 season for sellouts, seems very bleak at best. Having this team receive world-wide attention, will brand the Bucs as a team to root for in Europe, but--this will probably only be short-term until 2016! ESPN's blog article by Pat Yasinskas: Goodell: Bucs Want Global Franchise San Fran Chronicle: Goodell: Wants At Least Two 'Global Teams' In London Would this "global franchise" move benefit the NFL?...Yes! ... The money is there, which in Londontown--it's bountiful. Tampa will only benefit, unless there is a package deal, where the Bucs will receive Bucks to play--similar to what the Bills signed to play in the Toronto series! By, saying yes, the NFL would gain better traction in expanding their market, something they've been playing with for the past few decades going back to the 1990's... Eventually, would the Buccaneers move to London? I say, No! However, they could IF Tampa keeps striking out on their sellouts--which has been the current trend! Now, are the Bucs just a fluffer team--until the next round of expansion? I say, Yes! This could inspire other "Global Franchise"series in the near future... Granted, for a while the NFL has played preseason games around the globe since the 90's and has been playing regular season games in other countries, since 2005. However, the Bucs will be just the second franchise to play a regular season home game in another country for more than two seasons...So, IF the Bucs agree to be a "global franchise" and have a consistent home game played in London--this could prompt other teams around the league to go global! Along with the potential Buccaneers London Series & the already existing Bills Toronto Series...other potential "global franchise" series in the future could be: Cowboys Mexico City Series...Cowboys solidify current transition to South America's Team... Seahawks Tokyo Series 49ers China Series Chargers Sydney Series These potential " global franchise" series are NOT set in stone, but could be possible desitinations for a potential series...IF a series does occur in these areas, they could all solidify an expansion team nod--which the NFL has NOT promised, but has talked about happening--within the next 20 years!
  6. I put $20 on the Bills on 10/1/11 at The Cosmopolitan...18-1 to win Superbowl 2012! In April, I was there for the draft...While walking around New York New York...the odds were 150-1!
  7. I'd pay 3 bucks, then every 3-4 years go up a buck...because of inflation!
  8. I'm for it......but, this will get backlashes from taxpayers!
  9. I really want to do a check on every team since 1990...But, with school, work and a ice cold 30 pack of beer....I probably won't get around to it until---next season! ha True, the "trade CJ to the Lions for a 2nd rounder after the deadline has passed" post & the "Let's sign T.O." post get more looks...
  10. I'm enjoying the Jets implosion...along with Broadway Joe's infamous tweets bashing the 2011 team and Rex!
  11. I'm about 150 feet from where homeboy played his collegeball at BYU...All the Mormons just cheered when they saw the news that he will be the 'Skins starting QB... Beck is 0-6 as a fill-in and/or starter in the pros, he is 30 years old and really isn't an upgrade over Grossman! Yes, Beck has better accuracy...but, he is not a starting QB and will be an adequate backup until Shanny finds the starting QB he wants...I say, Beck keeps these guys in games this season--because, this will be his last shot at getting a starting gig!
  12. True, on any given Sunday...anything can happen! Just trying to steer the ship...for the positive! I just wanted to point out the win/loss record of games going into the bye...compared to win/loss record after...found it somewhat interesting, some of the Bills games before the bye and how much they lost by--some Bills sqauds looked like they packed it in and started the bye early! I'd like to see how that is for each team...maybe it's a trend?! -RIP Mr. Hull
  13. Since, the National Football League introduced the infamous regular season bye week in1990, the Buffalo Bills have had mixed outcomes--before and after their respective byes. Game Leading Up To Their Bye Week... From 1990-2010, including this past weekends 2011 loss to the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium, the Bills have a stagering 8-15 record. NOTABLE MENTION: Last time the Bills won a game leading into their bye, the Wade Phillips lead--Buffalo Bills team beating the Pete Carroll lead--New England Patriots, 17-7, at Ralph Wilson Stadium in 1999. The 1999 team was the last Bills team to make the playoffs and the last time Bruce, Reed & Thurman played together. From 1990-2010, the Bills have posted a record of 14-8 after their respective bye. NOTABLE MENTION: Last time the Bills won after their bye, the Richardless Jauron lead--Buffalo Bills team beat the slumping San Diego Chargers at Ralph Wilson Stadium, 23-14, in the 2008 Stadium Power Outage Bowl. Going Back...Back...Back... 2010...Loss @ Ravens...Buffalo record after bye, 4-7..........Final Standing: 4-12. 2009...Loss @ Titans...Buffalo record after bye, 3-5...............Final Standing: 6-10. 2008...Won vs. Chargers....Buffalo record after bye, 3-8............Final Standing: 7-9. 2007...Won vs. Ravens...Buffalo record after bye, 6-5.............Final Standing: 7-9. 2006...Won vs. Packers....Buffalo record after bye, 5-4.............Final Standing: 7-9. 2005...Won vs. Chiefs....Buffalo record after bye, 2-6..............Final Standing: 5-11. 2004...Loss @ Patriots...Buffalo record after bye, 9-5.............Final Standing: 9-7. 2003...Loss @ Dallas....Buffalo record after bye, 2-6.............Final Standing: 6-10. 2002...Loss @ Chiefs...Buffalo record after bye, 3-4................Final Standing: 8-8. 2001....Won @ Jaguars...Buffalo record after bye, 3-9.................Final Standing: 3-13. 2000...Loss vs. Colts...Buffalo record after bye, 6-7................Final Standing: 8-8. 1999...Loss vs. Giants...Buffalo record after bye, 3-1............Final Standing: 11-5. 1998...Won vs. 49ers...Buffalo record after bye, 10-3................Final Standing: 10-6. 1997...Won vs. Lions...Buffalo record after bye, 4-8...............Final Standing: 6-10. 1996...Won vs. Colts...Buffalo record after bye, 7-5.............Final Standing: 10-6. 1995...Won @ Browns...Buffalo record after bye, 8-5............Final Standing: 10-6. 1994...Won vs. Chiefs...Buffalo record after bye, 3-6..............Final Standing: 7-9. **1993b...Won @ Jets....Buffalo record after second bye, 8-3.............Final Standing: 12-4. **1993a...Loss vs. Miami...Buffalo record after first bye, 4-1. 1992...Won @ Jets...Buffalo record after bye, 7-3...............Final Standing: 11-5. 1991...Won vs. Patriots...Buffalo record after bye, 6-2..............Final Standing: 13-3. 1990...Won vs. Jets...Buffalo record after bye, 9-2...............Final Standing: 13-3. Leading Up To The Bills vs. Redskins Game... Historically, after Buffalo's bye week, the Bills have good odds to pull out a victory...meaning...even with different players...schemes....general managers....head coaches...Buffalo has a good chance to win it's first game in this Toronto Series! It is also good to note, that Buffalo leads the regular season series vs. the Redskins, 7-4! Away: 5-2 Home: 2-2 Granted, Toronto is scheduled as a home game... But, Buffalo going into a bye week...WITH a winning record WITH two losses or less...WITH two weeks to prepare for their respective opponent...Bills have a record of 8-3! NOTABLE MENTION: John Beck could be the Redskins starting QB....Last time, John Beck played against the Bills he was a rookie filling in for Cleo Lemon...John Beck's record filling in and/or starting at QB: 0-6! GO BILLS!
  14. I'm drunk in Park City, Utah at the moment, but I think he passed away last year! I could try to find the post tomorrow, but I'll forget! Go Bills!
  15. Wow, this site rocks...I especially like the sites title! ha
  16. This past weekend, I had a pleasant conversation with a very knowledgeable college football writer from ESPN. While over beers, we exchanged some info on the PAC 12, the current issues surrouding pro football and the college game, our undying love and memories of our favorite pro teams and how the game of football has evolved and changed over the past 25 years. Growing up in the Bay area and being a Raiders fan, he was somewhat distraught over the recent passing of AFL-NFL legend, Al Davis. With the similarities to the Bills current ownership, based on Mr. Wilson's age and AFL ties...I had to ask the question, if he thought the Davis family will sell to an L.A. owner? His answer, "Yes!"...for the Bills/Wilson family selling to an L.A. owner...his answer a surprisingly, "No!" He then broke down the facts... The Oakland Raiders...the possible trek back to Los Angeles... As much as he feels the Davis family would love to keep the team in Oakland, the impending process of Roski and Anschutz wanting at least two teams in L.A., brings the sense that the Raiders will make the move back to L.A. based on the assumption...of course--the Davis' family will recieve major money, Raiders have an existing fan base and a new state-of the-art stadium will be built. Going Back to the early 1980's...Davis wanted to keep the team in Oakland, but his demands for updates and added luxury boxes kept getting nixed-- to Oakland Coliseum...Fighting to keep the team in Oakland, Davis gives up...By 1981, Al Davis signs the Memorandum of Agreement, in which starts the process of relocation to L.A. based on the agreement, Davis and his Raiders will have a stadium built in Los Angeles. After a two-year-long legal process, based on Davis' , Al moved the team from Oakland to L.A. in 1982... From there, the Raiders were stuck playing on the same field as the USC Trojans--Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum from '82-'94...During the stay at the Coliseum, years passed and Davis vision of wanting what was promised a modern stadium to be built--never came to pass! There was eventually a possibile stadium plan to be bult in the works at Hollywood Park, but it never materialized and Al Davis went on to sue the NFL for tampering/interfering with the stadium negotiations. Davis flirted with the idea to move the franchise back to Oakland to push along the process of getting updates added to the L.A. Coliseum and/or a new stadium, but Davis again had enough! By 1995, Davis signs a letter of intent and moves the team back to Oakland...based on the agreement that the Oakland Coliseum, the stadium he left in the first place, have guaranteed upgrades and renovations put in! The Raiders lease in Oakland is up at the end of 2013 season... The sports writers opinion of the Raiders move back to L.A., "Now, with Davis' passing, the Raiders might have the chance to get that stadium...something Al Davis has always wanted. If they do move, which is the most fashionable pick...it saddens me to say, the Raiders home will be at the New Farmer's Field located next to the Staples Center." I offered my two cents...IF the Raiders moved back to L.A. would it be viable for the Raiders to play a home game back in Oakland once a year, similar to that of the Bills? His response, "Unsure" and "Probably Not!" The Buffalo Bills...possible move to Los Angeles? His response, "No!" He then pointed out, 10 to 15 years ago, he could see the Bills move... Now, in 2011 and beyond, he doesn't see it possible. His response, "If the Bills were moved, this would be a HUGE black eye to the NFL...meaning IF the Bills were moved based on small market status...excluding, Green Bay....teams like the Bengals, Browns, Chargers, Colts, Jaguars, Tampa Bay, Raiders, New Orleans, Pittsburgh...Yes, Pittsburgh and even Tennessee...Yes, Tennessee... could all have one foot out the door...This would damage the stability of the NFL!...Yes, the game is about money, but it's about stability...Yes, moving teams to a larger market would create money--but, it would be a market of fair weather fans!" With the CBA reached and a strong fan base around the country...a team like the Buffalo Bills will always remain--in Buffalo. Granted, they play a game in Toronto, but that is just to increase fanbase. As time passes on, the Raiders and Chargers presence of already being in the Los Angeles market outwheighs Buffalo's eventual move to Los Angeles. He went on to talk about the Chragers situation with the Spanos family selling shares of the team and the ongoing battle with the City of San Diego...IF the Chargers DO NOT get a deal done within the next two years, he could see the Spanos family going into business with Roski of Anschutz to get the team a stadium in either the City of Industry or Downtown Los Angeles. Alex Spanos' health, like Ralph's, is slowly dimenishing, Spanos family is rumored to be selling shares. Late in 2010, the Chargers denied rumors of selling 35% of the Chargers to Anschutz of AEG. Several weeks later, Spanos signed with a top L.A. marketing team, which raised some eyebrows in San Diego--same marketing team, which AEG has used. While interested in this, the sports writer told me to do some research on the Chargers lease situation... Shockingly, I came up with a couple sites, that I found interesting... Chargers commit to San Diego for 2011, But Not Beyond! San Diego Mayor is pressured into hiring financial adviser to try to build a stadium in San Deigo, but is it too late? ...the plan will be up for vote in 13 months...meaning the Chargers, could opt out of renewing their lease and move the team to Los Angeles! Overall, the sports writer went on to point out, "The NFL wants a team in Los Angeles...The NFL is focusing in on Super Bowl 50 to be played in Los Angeles...a team or teams, will eventually move there within the next two years--most likely the Raiders and Chargers! Not, the Bills!"
  17. I've seen this before with the Lambeau Leap in GB...when a player has to literally push themselves off of fans who won't let go! I'm wondering if refs can call excessive celebration rule if the player is in the stands too long!?
  18. Luck will be a great QB, but the NFL is different from the college game...nobody can guarantee he'll be the next big thing! He has to be in the right system...with an organization dedicated to keeping their schemes up to date and having a good foundation of players surrounding the young QB... For example: Say if Luck goes to Miami...Luck could be easily become another Tebow, Alex Smith, Harrington, Quinn, Carr, Couch...and yes...even Leaf! It's all about the system...assisting the young QB with the learning curve of the pro game!
  19. he's unemployed...thumbing through an 80's porn mag in his mother's basement...drinking Old Milwaukee
  20. While watching the past four games....I've noticed there are times where Fitz's shaky accuracy is the result of WR drops on passing downs... Yes, Jones is not the best option at #2...But, this team is still a work in progress... Us, fans tend to forget,... that after a 3-0 start... this is just year number two of the Chix regime! EDIT: Ican recall, there have been at least 4-5 picks that were almost intercepted, but dropped by opposing CB's...3 of which were easy INT's sqaure in the hands of opposing CB's! Example: Scott Chandler's TD in the endzone against the Raiders
  21. Seattle needs to implode...I'd love to see the Harbaugh vs. Carroll rivalry heat up evenmore--when Seattle takes Luck! EDIT: ha didn't see the post above me...nice
  22. This could be 3-2, but hope for...5-0...but, expect 4-1! Eagles...with a record of 1-3 could be a tough team...If the Eagles are smart, they would ride McCoy all day... However, odds will be Vick trying to do everything--again... After reading some of his comments after the game vs. the 9ers, he explained he will try to do whatever it takes to win and has put all the responsibility of losing 3 games on his shoulders... Eagles can be run on....after reviewing the game against the Bengals, the Bills gave up on the run after the second quarter...Fitzmagic's accuracy was off... Would've-Should've Could've...IF the Bills stuck with Fred and CJ running...They could've pulled this one out...However, it's a would've-should've-could've and the Bills lost! I expect Chan to utilize Fred more this week...this could be another 100+ and multi-TD! Forecast: I expect the defense to throw multi-looks to confuse Vick, but it all rides on them containing McCoy and Vick...I think the defense will be decent this game and the team will pull out a win! Giants could be a team similar to the Bengals..I could see the Bills getting out to an early lead...then just keep passing...This is the only team that scares me based on the fact, playoff hopes are expected of this Giants team and they are struggling Forecast: I've seen the media bash Eli...If he losses this weekend...he always comes back and has a decent game...I'm not saying the Bills will lose, but going into the Meadowlands after beating the Eagles could be a test for this team. Redskins...this team matches up well with this team and will be a fun game to watch. Hanging out with Bears fans on a regular basis and listening to their drunk hatered for Rexy has showed me light on how Grossman plays...going deep he throws erratic....most of his interceptions I've seen over the years has been on deep routes and overthrows...I think this will be a victory! Plus, all the games I've watched in 2011....the Redskins always come out running in the first half with Hightower and Helu...but, have been somewhat keen to give up the run in the second half. Forecast: first victory in Toronto....could be a fun one to watch! Jets...I love reading Joe Namath's tweets...especially, when he explains that this Jets team is overhyped! I hope Brad Smith goes off on his former team and expect a victory against Jets! Being a Bills fan, I have a ton of respect for Jets fans...I honestly think this team has peaked and will slowly slump... I talked to my buddy from Queens the other day...he believes the Dolphins first victory will come against the Jets! Forecast: Please, for the love of the football gods...give us this win in style! Cowboys...I almost bought tickets and wish I could've, but chose Hawaii instead...I really thought South America's team would've been THE dominant team in 2011, but they're not...One credit to Wade Phillips when he was the 'Boys head coach, that he makes a heluva good defensive game plan--not the best head coach we will all agree on---but, homeboy can put a decent scheme together... I really think this team defensive wise took a step back when they fired Bum's son... Forecast: I hate the Cowboys, but I respect Jason Garrett and his offensive schemes...Miles Austin will be back and could cause a problem...Witten, we will all agree is a top-tier TE...Romo not that bad......but, the running game....reminds me of the days watching Antowain Stiff (Smith) run...Felix Jones of course, a multi purpose back, who is fast and who I believe is a better player than Smith...has major issues running up the gut...Similar to Smith, Jones loves to run to the edges...where after he gets one arm on him--decides to go down...Tashard Choice...same thing...Demarco Murray same...Bills win! EDIT: GO BILLS!
  23. my only issue...besides my flight into San Fran being delayed more than 3 hours is...the use of the word 'Puz' five times... What's next... Fitz being called Futzpatrick? Fred being called Fuddy? Stevie Johnson being called Stevie Juhnsun?
  24. Hopefully, they will pass out extacy and glow sticks before the game...
