Who Are Our Most Realistic Trade Down Partners?
KollegeStudnet replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't mind them trading down...but, it depends on what's offered--meaning if it is for Gabbert or Newton at #3 and say San Fran, Titans or Vikings want him-they have to give up more picks than usual-because it is a potential franchise quarterback being traded up for! It will be interesting if this does happen--considering in this draft you can only trade JUST picks & not players! If this did happen..I could see us trading down and recieving one of the potential teams first pick in 2011, possibly second & maybe a second or a third in 2012! -
To someone who knows: If Maybin was cut before March 1st...would the Bills get any compensation? I used to know the compensation rules and guidelines, but have forgotten over the years!

Coahces and FO stance on Fitz

When Matt Ryan was taken...glaring holes needed to be filled everywhere on the Falcons! What's funny is how the media made it sound he wasn't a top QB/franchise guy, that's why he fell to #3...Now in 2011, Gabbert is under the same scrutiny... Only time will tell if we actually select a QB in the draft--who really knows!? -

SECOND HAND PRO DAY REPORTS

I'm into TSW, but have come to the conclusion that almost every thread started this past month has been from Profootballtalk.com... -
True, Gabbert was in a pro-style offense in high school...When coming out he was heavily recruited from Harbaugh in his first years at Stanford, because Harbaugh viewed him as the best pro-style Quaterback entering college...Gabbert chose Mizzou...With rumors out of San Fran, Harbaugh still views Gabbert as a high QB prospect. With Ryan Fitzpatrick behind the helm for 2011, Gabbert if selected by the Bills, will learn the pro-system under Gailey. Gailey does a mix of pro-style and college spread, which could make it easy for Gabbert-- However, I see the Bills going after Kaepernick!

Didn't Ted Washington, Rueben Brown, Jimbo & Pat Williams do WCW stuff back in the day? I could've sworn I seen them wrestle in Buffalo? (was 10 when this went down) -
skoobyfl says: Mar 16, 2011 3:26 PM Please take Cam Newton #1, so the Bills can't with their first. Like-53 Dislike- 13 This was taken from the comments section of ProFootballTalk about "Gabbert's deep accuracy questioned as he gets ready for his closeup" & is the first time I've ever agreed with Skooby--may his legend live on!

Yet another thread on draft thoughts, scenarios
KollegeStudnet replied to tonyjustbcuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All jokes aside...I think they've fallen in love with CB Peterson & go after QB Kapernick in the second round! But, who really knows...Dallas could be a trade partner & we could get Newton at 9...who knows--only Skooby does! -
Robert Gallery to be available in free agency
KollegeStudnet replied to Rob's House's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pro: Gallery could be a great addition...With the talks of Wood being moved to center in 2011, I could see Gallery being a great gaurd or even RT if he can! Con: He has 75 starts and could demand a kings ransom...last time I checked there is not alot of qauilty inside o-lineman in 2011 free agency! -

Interesting tidbit...Bob Sanders grew up in Erie, PA & while growing up he went to several Bills games in the 90's...it was in an interview for the super bowl a few years back in sports illustrated. Bob has the talent, but the dude has to know he isn't going to get as much, due to injuries/missed games...

Jack Locker can't hit the broadside of a barn
KollegeStudnet replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Finishing up his junior season, Locker was one of the premier qauterback selections leading up to the 2010 draft, but elected to go back for his senior season. Big Mistake. Even at the begining of college season in 2010, Locker was still the favorite to go number one. However, in the 2011 Draft, Locker wont make it to middle round two. Junior Season- Locker's best stats at Washington Jake Locker Comp-230 Att-395 Yds-2800 Cmp%- 58.2 TD- 21 Int-11 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sophmore Season Andrew Luck- Comp-263 Att-372 Yds-=3,338 Pct- 70.7% TD-32 Int- 8 Rating 170.2 True, Luck did have an awesome sophmore year, but there will be alot of pressure on him... if he doesn't take this team to a national championship....if his INT's rise and if he doesn't match last years wins/stats he COULD slip in the draft and COULD not go number one overall. An example of why Luck could drop out of the number one spot in the 2012 Draft...Aaron Rodgers, Brady Quinn... In the 2005 NFL Draft, this years Super Bowl winning Qaurterback fell to 24th overall, because the 49ers selected Utah's Alex Smith based on Mike Nolan not believing Aaron Rodgers could co-exist with his strong personality. Leading up to the 2005 Draft, many people speculated that Rodgers should go number one overall, but after Alex Smith's one year wonder, 3.74 gpa in college, workouts & one of the better wonderlic scores...Rodgers got beat out of the number one selection Junior Season Aaron Rodgers- Comp- 209 Att-316 Cmp% 66.1 Yds- 2566 TD-24 Int- 8 Junior Season Alex Smith- Comp- 214 Att- 317 YDS- 2952 CMP% 67.5 TD-32 INT-4 --------------------------------------- Senior Season Brady Quinn- Comp- 289 Att- 467 Yds- 3426 CMP% 61.9 TD-37 Int-7 After the 2006 Draft, Quinn was the bonafide posterchild for the number one spot in the 2007 Draft. As the 2006 college season passed, out of nowhere-Jamarcus Russell's performance that season, beating Quinn in the 2006 Sugar Bowl, including his wicked pro-day--outwieghed Quinn's statistically impressive Senior season...However, fell to 22nd overall, due to his teams horrible year of free falling out of the top ten! The Fighting Irish went from #2 in the country to finishing a generous #11 in the country! If Luck improves and so does his team...then he will be number one. However, to my knowledge, the only qaurterback who went back for his senior year and ended up going number one is Peyton Manning...But, he got a run for his money with Ryan Leaf. -
Jack Locker can't hit the broadside of a barn
KollegeStudnet replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
True, for the past two seasons Jake Locker has been touted as the NEXT best thing... Now,Epic Fail! Luck could do the same, I don't see him going number one next season. -
Vikings approached on moving team to Los Angeles
KollegeStudnet replied to TheBlackMamba's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Vikings won't go anywhere... True, based on the fact Utah is a religous state and with Salt Lake having troubles with the Utah Jazz playing Sunday games...its unlikely they would make a play for an NFL team -

Chargers to L.A.? Concerns Really Mounting in SD
KollegeStudnet replied to BuffaloWest's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In the past 24 hours since Toronto announced AEG's potential buying of 35% of Alex Spanos' Chargers... It has been a HUGE topic in the San Diego sports radio world today...a point which left Scott Kaplan of The Scott & B.R. Show on XX 1090 in San Diego, a show similar to Schopp and The Bulldog on WGR...dumbfounded...disheartened and speechless... knowing this could be THE END in San Diego... NOW, Alex Spanos doesn't have to sell to AEG...However, he is...meaning Spanos' Chargers will be 35% owned by AEG... -The Spanos family will be WELL taken care of by AEG after Alex's death! -L.A. will have their team! -L.A will have their new stadium! -nobody in L.A. will care!
