I hope this issue just goes away. I wouldn't hold my breath on that lawsuit either. It's standard practice to say that to the media as you walk out of the jail. Be prepared for the "I can't comment on that right now" routine. This will spark the TSW gumshoes to fawn all over the three articles written about the subject, and act as though they know every detail of the night. VOR will humiliate himself again, and others will take the bait and battle him. No more information will come out and the lawsuit talk will just go away. Three weeks into the season this issue will be overshadowed by the constant debate on whether or not Dante is a bust.

Rumor TSW cuts Steve, is it true?

A DT that big is well grounded, and stout against the run.

Well, somebody at the club mentioned Haloti Ngata, and it just flipped a switch.

Thats good given its current state.

Bills have turned into team of "thugs", "low character&
PushthePile replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My criteria for "thug" is different I guess. Until a he commits a violent act on somebody, he's not a "thug", IMO. His accident last year, was not intentional and something any of us could have happen. I don't prescribe to the theory that Marshawn didn't know he hit her. I also don't know what I would have done at his age and in his shoes. I have done lots of things in my youth, that I'm ashamed of. I wish I could say I know for a fact I would have stayed. He had moments to react and chose the selfish route. It's possible he felt the impact wasn't life threatening, and didn't think he'd hurt someone. Obviously, it was a terrible act. He's still not a thug in my book. -

PushthePile replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think anyone on the team can be labeled a "thug". IMO, a thug is someone who routinely is involved with illegal activity and is a threat to society. I don't know anything about any Bill, that would make me not want to be around them. With the exception of BillfromNYC. Just kidding, Bill. -

I don't follow you. Are you saying the gun, might not be his? -
I can see both sides of the argument. Being a celebrity has its advantages and disadvantages. You make a good point.

You sound pretty ignorant. Believe it or not having a degree from a "top university" is not a requirement for being a good person. Their are also lots of people in this country who are quite intelligent, who make less than what a cop makes. You act as though, only the best get to go to college. Talk about a warped sense of reality. I bet you think the military is only made up of mongoloids and losers of society. Why do some people associate intelligence and values, with degrees and paychecks? A cops job is to serve and protect. I'm sorry you think drug trafficking and prostitution are stupid. The main reason why being a cop is tough, is because people like you are constantly putting them down. What other low paying professions are made up of losers? What is the salary cutoff, where the average employee is intelligent? How much do I need to make, to know that my average co-worker isn't a scumbag? You know their are more people in this country who do shtty work, than not.
-
Cops don't want to get their name in the paper, especially if it's a bad charge. Cops lose their job when they screw up. NFL players on the otherhand get at least 20 second chances. You can beat women, run over people while intoxicated, sell drugs, sexually assault, steal, brawl with police, kill dogs, solicite sex, mouth off on tv/radio, and generally break any law you want, without much consequence. As long as you play on Sundays, many fans will make excuses for you. If a cop makes an error he loses his job. Look at the Moats case. The guy certainly acted like a complete douche, and he was forced to step down. Leonard Little freaking killed a person and still makes millions. A police officer was once given the benefit of the doubt and respected. Now we give the benefit of the doubt to repeat offenders and football players. I wouldn't want the job.
-
Very good point. Your average NFL player isn't out in the public acting like an idiot. I'm curious how many of these guys get away with this crap, though. The NFL has a product to protect and it's beginning to get ridiculous. I was going to start an offseason arrest contest. I didn't because I thought it would offend others. We would have multiple winners.
-
Happy Birthday Ted! You humiliated me last year on the field, and now I'm going to act like an idiot at your party and get tasered. LOL!
-
I see your point, but I think it's overly assumed alot. I have been pulled over numerous times as a young white male. Is it because I'm young? Maybe. Should I act disrespectful towards a police officer because I suspect he has tageted me? I also have been pulled over by a black cop, who I felt got his rocks off by degrading what he deems to be a spoiled white boy. I grew up far from spoiled, should I have made a scene? My point is, life is not always fair, don't compound problems by acting like an idiot. It seems like public opinon is just as quick to judge the cops as they are a black man, IMO. It has gotten to the point where every situation is looked at from a race standpoint. Is it ever going to end? Why do these integrated police forces, only target black males? Why was this cop assumed to be white? Why is it that racial targeting is just assumed? You have hundreds of camera phones walking out of the club, and everyone wants to get over on a cop. You would think this hate crime would have been documented.

Report: Lynch suspended three games
PushthePile replied to TimGraham's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right. I called you a homer and said that your comparisons of Wilfork and Lynch were stupid. Jeezus, grow some thicker skin. I find it interesting that you have dedicated your screen name and quotes to Senator Kennedy, and his accident. Would you find a way to spin the facts for him, if he played running back for the Bills? Would it be similar to the "Marshawn didn't know he ran over a girl" argument? -

PushthePile replied to TimGraham's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why can't people understand that the gun was illegal, regardless of where it was. Christ, you guys are such homers. The gun could have been locked up in a safe and it still would have been illegal. I register my handguns because it's the law, he didn't, end of the freaking story. His intentions for the gun were most likely nothing, but it doesn't matter in the slightest. If I had a hand grenade, and kept it in my trunk, is it okay? Your comparison of illegal firearm and three years probation, too a dirty football player, is a whole new level of stupidity. How could you notice Bob Krafts knob, while you were all over Marshawn's? -

PushthePile replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Best post on the subject I've seen. He is a gamble at this point, you don't pay gambles 10 million a year. If you give a player that kind of money, he better lock up that position at an above average level, and without any distraction. He better show up in shape and stay motivated on his own. He better make those around him better. He better not ever be a concern for the coaching staff. Sorry Jason, you don't fit the qualifications. -
Report: Lynch suspended three games
PushthePile replied to TimGraham's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll take a stab at it ... Brandon Marshall's one game suspension was a joke. Everyone knows it was ridiculous that he got it reduced to 1 game. Based on fan reaction, media reaction, TSW reaction, and Marshall's inability to stay out of trouble since, I think we can all agree he got off way too easy. Brandon Marshall is a way bigger problem than Marshawn, IMO. Unfortunately for the Bills, Goodell seems to have clamped down again, and is trying to send a message. Lynch's suspension is more consistent with Goodells past actions, outside of the Marshall case. Every news outlet I saw cover the story, had it in the ballpark of three games. Only here at a site filled with Bills fans did I see 1 game or no suspension. Go figure. Roger Goodell is in the process of installing a new disciplinary system in the NFL, to help slow down the crime spree. We are still in the beginning stages of the process, and the NFL is trying to figure out a standard. Every case is different and having set rules is not applicable. It's possible that suspensions are now being set, knowing full well that they will be appealed and reduced. This type of repetitive action takes place in our courtrooms every day. It is not necessarily my opinion in this case, but an illegal firearm can be more serious than domestic abuse. It sounds ridiculous but let's face it, an unregistered firearm can do alot more damage than an abusive football player. By no means am I saying Lynch is a bigger threat than Marshall. I think Lynch is a good kid, at heart. The law punishes gun crimes more serious than your average domestic abuse case. I also think that you can make a case that the casual fan who doesn't know the individuals involved, will be more effected by the illegal gun. It's sad but beating up a girlfriend, is pretty vanilla today. Unregistered firearms is far more damaging to the league, IMO. Please stop with the excuses for Marshawn. He did something stupid and is going to pay the price, whatever it ends up being. It sucks from a fans perspective but that really doesn't matter. He got what most thought he would get and it has a good chance of being reduced. Move on! -

Listen VOR, I respect your opinion and think you have alot of great posts on this site. Unfortunately, you are also a total homer for Lynch and Owens. So much of what you bring to the table on these subjects is assumptions and horrible logic. I reacted to your analogy that Jerry Jones is stupid because of the CBA, Roy Williams trade, and Wade Phillips. You then tried to make the point that because Jones is stupid, obviously letting TO go was stupid. Thats the VOR logic, I'm talking about. The same logic that you use when you tell me Lynch didn't know he hit that girl with his car. It's nothing more than a homer, massaging his favorite players. I like both Lynch and Owens but, I'm not going to try and convince the world they don't make mistakes. By the way, Mcnabb has played in more big games than Owens could ever dream of. -
Report: Lynch suspended three games
PushthePile replied to TimGraham's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I understand that you want to give him the benefit of the doubt, from every angle possible, and that's fine. The problem is, he didn't learn to not break the law, from last years debacle, and no suspension. Regardless of how you want to picture Marshawns intentions, his firearm was illegal. This was enough of an infraction to merit three years probation and a three game suspension. So downplay it all you want, but the NFL and State of California, both seem to think illegal guns are pretty serious. It doesn't matter what his intentions were. I also think gamechecks can sometimes motivate more than probation and watered down community service. -

PushthePile replied to DazedandConfused's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First off, Jerry Jones might be an egotistical jerk, but he doesn't give up on HOF players for no reason. He found it in his heart to forgive Michael Irvin and the other criminals on the team. I also don't think you can link Jerry Jones stance on the CBA, Roy Williams, and Wade Phillips to complete stupidity. Do you hold yourself to a 100 percent standard in decision making? I hope not. You also grossly downplay the reasons why TO has left every team he has been on. We all know you didn't forget, either. The Cowboy's players have showed far more class in the press, than TO has ever shown. Donovan Mcnabb has also proven to be an extremely consistent winner in this league, unlike TO. IMO, you can give a piece of schitt a shower, but you can never get rid of the stink. I still love the move for the Bills, and think it will work. He is in a must behave situation, and that benefits both parties. I can still root for him, without forgetting his past meltdowns. Right? I don't think we need to completely sell out, to be good fans. -

Wanna rethink that statement? Protecting yourself against "thugs" is one thing. Planning on not telling authorities about shooting someone, is beyond stupid. Let's hope Marshawn was just being young and careless. Seriously, you are so all over the board in protecting Marshawns name. It's hard to watch you scratch and claw to keep your lame argument going. He is guilty of breaking the law and was involved with a questionable situation last year. Marshawn has admitted to expecting a suspension, lets hope he uses this as a life lesson. If he takes your excuse laden approach, nothing has been gained. Why can't you just accept the fact he messed up? It's not the end of the world and three games does not make a career, not learning a lesson could ruin one, though.
