Are the Bills Coaches Good Enough ?

You can't be serious Dog. You have just forfeited your rights to any logical Qb discussions. Above average? Are you including all of the backups and third stringers when you determine your mean? -
Are the Bills Coaches Good Enough ?
PushthePile replied to Kenwick's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It all depends on what you mean by pretty good. I don't think a huge percentage of Bills fans feel he has been above average thus far. I would say that a huge percentage think he deserves to be the unchallenged starter this year, myself included. Qbs that would make me feel pretty good are guys like Big Ben, Rivers, Mcnabb, P Manning, Brady, Cutler, E Manning, Ryan, Warner, Palmer, Romo, Rodgers, and Brees. Qbs that would make me feel hopeful but skeptical are Edwards, Pennington, Russell, Flacco, Hasselback, Orton, Cassel, Delhomme, Scahub, and Delhomme. I made the comment based on the hatred TSW has for this coaching staff. Schonert has had one season here and people are already all over him. Jauron has had mediocre results the last three seasons and is written off by most as a permanent loser. It's just an observation as to how a fanbase deals with a team that has underachieved for a decade. Buffalo has been one of the places in the NFl where coachs go to die. I'm not saying that Jauron should be free of blame. I'm saying that people need to learn to hold their favorite players as accountable as they do the coaching staff. Playcalling always looks terrible when a team can't execute. If the Bills go to the playoffs next season, many fans will say it was despite Jauron. At the same time Edwards will be considered a surefire HOF. -

Great Post! This is right on the money and without the usual TSW exaggeration. Nice job -

Bills fans have alot of trouble admitting that some of the key players on their favorite team aren't that good. Jauron will be long gone before some of you give up on some of his players. Their are some here who still believe in JP. Meanwhile guys like Mularkey and Greggo have moved on to find success elsewhere. It's an ugly trend in the NFL and some of the more successful franchises have fought the urge to stroke an impatient fanbase. The Trent apologists are usually the ones who are out for Jaurons blood. Honestly, both of these guys should be fighting for their jobs. It is kind of a stretch to assume that McCargo and Kelsay will improve this season. Can Trent do enough to win? Will the offensive line hold up? Will this team generate pressure on the Qb? Can the Bills avoid injuries to their thin positions? These questions should be just as much of a concern as the coaching staff, IMO. Why is Bobby April always mentioned as a head coaching canidate? Does he have any head coaching experience? It seems like a massive jump from ST coach to head coach. I would think that the team has better options, when Jauron gets fired. -
First off, it is more important than the 10 games outside of the division. Getting a win and handing out a loss to a divisional foe is a double positive, especially on the road. IMO, it is the most important game on the schedule as it stands now. Things will certainly change as the season goes on. This team hasn't shown anything against the Pats in a long time. Every Bills fan, player, and employee is waiting for the tide to turn. It will undoubtedly happen at some point but who knows when. If the Bills find a way to beat the Pats on opening day, the energy will be through the roof. With Brady returning from injury and the Pats slowly declining it is entirely possible. IMO, another blowout loss would be just as damaging. I know that it would only be the first game of the season but it would set the tone. I hate to say it but a close game would be a moderate victory for the Bills. If the team competes and loses a back and forth type game, it would show that the Bills are close. This type of game could be the starting point of a franchise on the upswing. I know some will say a loss is a loss but that is not true. Getting humiliated on a big stage again is not the same as losing a close one. The players would certainly know the difference. The coaching staff has had an entire offseason to get ready for this game. Their are no excuses for the coaching staff, players, or fanbase. This team will not be taken seriously until it beats the Pats. This offseason has been filled with many question marks and fans are split on many issues. We will get a good idea about alot of things in the very first game.

Josh Reed is the poor man's Hines Ward. He brings alot of value to a team that has other playmakers. I would hate to see him left out of the mix this year.

Anyone out there have the winner for todays race? I'm not much of a horse fan but I do enjoy the big three. Having gone to the track a few times I have a general idea of the different types of bets. My idea for todays race was to play a handful of trifectas and exactas with Mine that Bird. This isn't exactly going out on a limb and I'm curious how more informed handicapper views todays run. It should be fun to see if Borel can get it done again.

He might feel he has nothing left to prove to Bills fans. Considering all the ballwashing that went on here, over his devastating, limited contact drill block, he's probably right.

Yes. It is all premeditated as well. In fact we all know where murder is taking place and do nothing about it. -
Who makes and calls the plays?

Turk and Dick call the plays but the other teams make the plays. -
Six consecutive years where you just plain suck on offense

This school of thought is outdated. The bust rate for the number one pick is not that different than the bust rate for picks 10-15. If you whiff on a top 5 pick it hurts way worse. This is why the NFL is trying to fix rookie salaries. It is next to impossible to find teams that want to trade into the top 5. I'll take 7-9 all day, over 0-16. Whitner and Maybin look alot nicer to me than some of the lottery tickets we've seen drafted for a king's ransom. -
How you view the reserves is beyond ridiculous. I agree that many men and women of all ages go to Iraq and most of this personnel is in support of the infantry. In other words not really on the front lines. I would never downplay the service of others and their role is just as imoportant to the mission as the grunts. I have spent time on active duty and in the reserves. The quality of Marine has little to do with active duty or reserve. You get good and bad with both. Seeing that alot of the reserve force is prior active, it really shouldn't be a shock. The reserves get a bad name because of past stereotypes. Today the reserve units, especially the grunts, are just as vital to the mission as active duty. My reserve battalion had 46 killed and over 150 wounded in 05. None of them were old men or women. They were all young men who were very capable Marines. Get a clue before you start ripping into the reserves.

If I want to be against abortion it really has zero relevance to whether or not I've done my part in adopting children. What if I'm pro-choice and don't have the means to take care of a child? I understand where your coming from in regards to the moral police but fighting fire with fire is not the best route, IMO. I support the choice of women to abort her fetus or baby, whatever you want to call it. One side likes to water it down and the other likes to call it murder. Eitherway I am not scared off from my opinion by words like murder, baby, and hell. I can also understand where the otherside is coming from. To me it's similar to the gay marriage issue. I will live my life the way I see fit and I am willing to let my neighbor do the same. -

If you want to break it down to what it really is, then yes abortion is killing babies. As for my opinion, I am pro-choice. At the same time I don't begrudge anyone who feels strongly that it is immoral. Don't you think your adoption theory is a form of morality judgement as well? -

How many do you have to adopt before you can have an opinion? -
Relax Steely I was joking. I am pro-choice and i just thought your argument was a reach. I agree that the situation with orphans and homeless children is unfortunate but that blame falls on everyone. Using it as an argument against the pro-life crowd is weak. I shouldn't have to adopt every orphan if I want to have an opinion. I also wanted to see if I could provoke a punch. I'm a big fan of the cat.

American Patriot charged with murder
PushthePile replied to AlaskaDarin_Has_AIDS's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Is it possible that this guy was showing mercy on the kid by finishing him off? No one knows what the guy was thinking. He obviously has seen his share of death and might have done the kid a favor. -
So you are angry at the pro-life crowd because they haven't adopted all of the orphans and homeless in the country? Does this mean that the pro-choice crowd needs to start murdering the homeless?

Oct 2002 - The story of Dick Jauron "Coward"-gate

What about a link supporting your statement? Why are you saying the Bills didn't practice against 3-4 schemes ever? I don't even know a highschool team that doesn't mimic their opponent. This team has plenty of problems, it doesn't need the haters making stuff up.
