  1. The "average fan" was an incorrect statement. Ask the average football junkie who isn't a Bills fan. Football junkies watch and read about every team and have informed opinions. Do they watch every snap like Bills fans? No, but they also have unbiased views of what they do view. I'm just saying that outside of the Bills circle, Trent is not always viewed as a long term solution.

  3. This is the perfect opportunity for Nick Lachey to start nailing Romo. Eat that Jessica!

  5. Brilliant? That might be a little strong. He is a master of his craft and that craft is dumbfounding suckers. He could be brilliant, but it's hard to tell considerintg it's like shooting fish in barrel here.
  6. That's awesome! Our 25 year old quarterback barely beats out a 34 year old vet. Travel outside of the Bills bubble for a second and you will find out what the averatge fan thinks of Trent Edwards. He needs to make a good size improvement to keep his job this year. In addition to that he needs 101 more Tds and 9 more seasons in the league to catch up to Griese. Is it possible? Yes. Is it possible he could go the route of Losman, Johnson, and Collins? Yes. Will that stop Bills homers from strutting around acting like the Edwards/Griese comparison is a joke? Not likely
  7. Nice post! Save the "Remeber the Titans" crap for highschool. Training camp in the NFL is more about the Xs and Os of the game. The players are coming into camp in phenominal shape, and it's news when somebody isn't. The coachs want to see the players practice hard and STAY HEALTHY. Given the amount of pre-season football they have to endure, it is foolish to destroy them in practice as well. Bottom line: Every healthy player will be in game shape by the season opener, and the coachs will have seen enough to set their depth charts.
  8. I like his chances of being an average LT. I'm worried about his run blocking more than pass protection. For a big fat guy, he has decent agility. Oddly enough, I think his weakness is strength. Langston has a nice opportunity to put some cash in his pocket. He's a smart guy and knows that this could parlay into a nice contract. IMO, it won't be for lack of effort on his part. I'm also a fan of Chambers. He's not spectacular but is a solid backup/vet. FWIW, we have the smartest o-line in the NFL. Yes, they are inexperienced but knowing eachothers assignments shouldn't be a problem. The learning curve could be alot shorter than many think.
  9. The term aberration simply means to deviate from the normal path. The term doesn't represent something that cannot be explained. You and I might not be able to explain it but that wasn't the point. The point was Trent's concussion didn't effect his play in the San Diego game and probably didn't effect him after.
  10. How would you explain that aberrant Chargers game? Did the post concussion blues take a week off? He fell apart on his own, Adrian Wilson didn't kill our season.
  11. 1. I'll gladly trade most TDs for most dropped passes. Besides take a look at the other leaders in dropped passes. They are usually the studs who get the ball thrown to them the most. Common sense. I haven't seen any NFL evaluators come out and say he has hit the wall. Got a link? 2. I think Owens has proved enough in his career to give him the benefit of doubt. Lee Evans is a weapon and so is our running game when teams can't put 8 in the box. 3. I will be right there with you if 09 isn't different. 4. I'm not sure why you are assuming all 5 guys on our o-line will be out of position. Did you see that in your crystal ball? Three of those five guys, you haven't even seen play. Just go with the absolute worst case scenario, right. 5. Your final point is personal opinion. I can't tell you what to think. It's impossible to argue with the constant doom and gloom crowd.
  12. So you look foward to your favorite team losing games and complete turmoil on the sideline? Thanks for representing Bills fans so well. You should stick with the WWF. TO has never successfully hijacked a team. Crying on the sideline and publicly melting down doesn't do anyone any good. It usually results into season long drama and disruption. Some people think it's cool to call teammates and coachs out publicly. In reality it's a sign of immaturity and selfishness. A professional takes care of his business in the locker room behind closed doors. With that being said I'm glad he's here and I don't think he will lose control. The guy is an immense talent and should allow us to open things up. We didn't have the personnel to do so last year. If the 09 Bills don't let it go more, you have room to gripe. James Hardy got his share of looks early. He played his way out of more involvement. He's just not ready.
  13. Very sad story dog. I'm sorry you carry that regret with you. She was very beautiful and I'm sure loved by many. Unfortunately, a tragedy like this always leaves loved ones asking what if. I hope time helps.
  14. This sums it up nicely. Good post Biscuit!
  15. You make some great points. It's hard to determine from play to play whether or not the coachs put their guys in bad spots or the players didn't execute. I'm sure it's a combination of both but I feel the execution might be worse. I saw our guys getting beat head to head alot. I also saw missed tackles and bad turnovers. As always I saw another Bills team who wasn't deep enough to handle inevitable injuries. New England is flat out stacked. They are loaded from top to bottom and have nice backups at most positions. When you take average players/ experienced vets and put them with a very strong supporting cast, they will perform. NE also gets alot of top-tier FAs. Randy Moss, Wes Welker, Adalius Thomas, and Bart Scott are just a few off the top of my head. Miami is a tough team to gauge. The biggest improvement they had last year was at Qb. Pennington stayed healthy and played really well for them. QB is the most important position within a NFL franchise. It always has been but that's another topic for another thread. The rest of the talent on the team is solid yet unspectacular. They took advantage of a weak schedule last year and we didn't. Are they better than us? I'd have to say it's close. Is Tony Sparano a better coach? Who knows? He has had one season. The Phins got whipped in round 1, just like the Bills would have. The key to success is being consistently good. Who cares about a fluke season with a first round loss? Every team in the AFC East is chasing the Pats. Someone is going to eventually get them. The Bills have just as good of a chance as anyone.
  16. Lynch is one mistake away from a season long suspension, IMO. This significantly lowers his value in a trade. He is worth more than what we'd get for him at this point. Personally, I think he is an average back who plays like his hair is on fire. This makes him easy to root for. His personality is also humorous and most can get behind that as well.
  17. I agree. We need those young guys to develop for us. TO has also been a little injury prone as he gets older.
  18. The blame falls on the players more than the coaching, IMO. While the staff certainly has mistakes on its record, no amount of coaching will make up for the lack of playmakers we have on this team. Bill Bellicheck would not have taken the Bills to the playoffs last year. As an NFL coach you can't cheer your way to better blocking and tackling. They can only teach the players so much and they either have it or they don't. At the moment we have too many players who are "good" based on potential. Hopefully, it turns out to be more than the same false hope we've had for a long time. The coaching carousel will continue until the talent gets better. Most fans just can't admit that their favorite Bills players might be painfully average. Who is the biggest playmaker on defense? Stroud? How about offense? Evans or Lynch? All three are nice players but hardly are dominant. That doesn't even take into account our weak link starters and complete lack of depth at certain positions. I'm not saying that this team is doomed. They are young and getting better, IMO. I really like what they did in the offseason as well. If they can stay healthy, the team should continue improving.
  19. Do you mean we should use common sense? 100 TSW gumshoes just went flaccid.

  21. I saw that. It reminds me of the movie "Unbreakable". We just need Samuel L. to show up with a cane.

  23. Our team does it's shittting right on the field.
  24. Fans are the same for the most part, at least when you have a city passionate about their team. If a team is a fortunate enough to win consistently it is going to become a media darling. This brings out an immediate negative reaction for every other fanbase. In addition to this a whole new legion of obnoxious bandwagoners emerge to embarass longtime fans. Like the guy who is wearing a Yankees hat and yells Jeter sucks in your face, while his vodka redbull breathe knocks you over. The Red Sox have fallen into this category over the last decade, as have the Pats. The Yankees have always had this problem but that's the price of being the winningest sports franchise ever. A team like the Lakers wins all the time but for the most part their fans aren't diehards. They like to riot though. How obnoxious would Bills fans be if the team had a dynasty? As a fan of the Yankees in the 80's and 90's, I'd like to say WTF Mel Hall. What a scumbag!
