Harvard Scholar Arrested for Being Black
PushthePile replied to Fingon's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Why is no one talking about how this isn't Gates first racist gaffe? On his application to Yale he wrote "As always whitey now sits in judgement of me, preparing to cast my fate." This guy has made a career out of crying racism. -

What if I enjoy porn? Does this mean I can't pass judgement on a rapist? -
Harvard Scholar Arrested for Being Black

That is as ignorant as saying, let's stop acting like there is no reason for a white cop to suspect a black man wandering around a Boston hood at 2 AM is up to no good. Follow the logic? How about we don't assume anything? The cops made a questionable arrest. This should be the only debate for outsiders like us. -

Least power? Watching you fumble around this thread, trying to prove racism is proof that cops are powerless. It's a no win situation for the good guys (and yes we know that they aren't all good). It must be nice to sit back and assume that Boston is full of racist cops. Nothing like fighting ignorance and stereoytypes with ignorance and stereotypes. As usual the race card wins! It is the undefeated undisputed champion of votes and strong arming. -
Chiavettas is a great marinade. I've been using a Wegmans made marinade called Mojo all summer. Outstanding!

You aren't missing anything. The total games suspended is 37 I believe.

that Lebron James video is out
PushthePile replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Very typical of the NBA. The highlite play is more important than teamwork and cohesion. Who gives a rats azz? Lebron rotated over a step late and the kid got an easy 2. I like the typical idiotic response from the media and NIKE as well. Even Kobe had to comment on how "ain't no one goin to dunk on me, in my camp." YAWN. On a sidenote: Bill Russell says that the proudest personal achievement in his career was wearing the captain patch on his Boston Celtics uniform. -
I know We Say This Every Year
PushthePile replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Outside of homers with blinders on, Tom Brady can't be left out of top 5 all-time Qb discussions. His rings and stats speak for themselves. The only thing worse than losing, is losing with sour grapes. Send up the spygate signal into the sky. We need our resident homers to come in and tell us the Pats suck. -
Agreed. Anchor Bar is mediocre at best.

If the Bills start out 1-3......
PushthePile replied to LIBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
IMO, this team gets out of the gate strong again this year. The opening game will be a close contest. It is an unusual break for us to get NE in the opener. The *Pats are still better than us but I don't believe they are going to be running on all cylinders right off the bat. We can win that game. I won't chalk it up as a loss in July. Tampa is a team in rebuilding mode. They might be starting a rookie at QB. They also have a rookie head coach. Tampa could suprise this year but I don't see it. The Bills should win this one. Nawlins is one of the most overrated teams in the NFL. They are a mess defensively and one dimensional offensively. They are very good at what they do but it's not consistent. Who knows what Saints team we get. They only won 2 games last year on the road ( K.C. and Detroit). Very winnable game for us. Miami is a solid team but not a powerhouse. The Bills should have split with them last year. I wouldn't be shocked to see the Dolphins slip quite a bit this season. Eitherway it will be another close game between these two teams. I see the Bills at 2-2 or 3-1 after four games. -
HAHAHA!

Ray Lewis snaps & compares McNair to Jesus...
PushthePile replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whether it's money, religion, power, women, or survival, humans will always hurt eachother. To try and blame our biggest flaw as a species on specific beliefs, is shortsighted. Humans killing eachother is inevitable. Take a look at our history and the body counts. Now take a second to analyze what we have learned. Our society worships violence! Whether it's movies, music, video games, news, sports, or just starintg down somebody at a red light, we love it. Religion is just one of the infinite reasons to harm another person. The problem is us. -
What is solid on the Bills team?

What is solid on the Bills team?
PushthePile replied to Billistic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The best thing about this Bills team? We are are an average team, that is young and improving. Improvement doesn't always reflect in record. IMO, the Bills were a handful of mental errors away from a winning season. -
The only controversy should be whether or not any of them make the final roster.

Smoking Ban In Military Proposed

That would be great news for the crowd that likes to ban things. Endless possibilites of government control! -

I have heard that before and I think it's an interesting point. All the more reason to let people make their own choices. -
Absolutely! A former NFL player would be a great addition to TSW.

Smoking Ban In Military Proposed
PushthePile replied to Bill from NYC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The VA is worthless and should be done away with. Veterans should recieve normal healthcare for their services. The money spent on keepintg the VA program running is a complete waste. A smoking ban for the military is a disturbintg trend of government parenting. Everyone knows the consequences of smoking. We should be allowed to make our own choices. In the civilian world you can leave work and go smoke at home if you desire. Many military jobs aren't 9 to 5. What about other tobacco products? How do you tell a guy to run into a building full of combatants who want to kill you and then afterwards say, no smoking? Some of these warriors are on their 4th and 5th deployments in combat. Meanwhile, back home people debate on whether or not to take their smoking away to save a few dollars? Could we have our priorities more jacked up? Sickening. -

Smokes were actually rationed out by the military then. Then again we use to allow our military to fight as well. -
Smoking Ban In Military Proposed
PushthePile replied to Bill from NYC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Tobacco use in the military is more widespread then college drinking. It is not uncommon for guys to chew and smoke at the same time. The averatge 18-24 year old could care less about the long term effects of tobacco, when he sees his peers getting killed or wounded. The thought of telling a guy who is putting his life on the line for freedom, he can't smoke is laughable. Hey Marine, go assault that enemy stronghold but I better not see a smoke in your mouth. Our culture is embarassing. -
Street Fighting Man is my favorite. The Stones are all-time great but the Beatles are the greatest. Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band is awfully tough to beat.
