  1. No it is not appropriate to punish athletes differently, according to race. I believe Goodell would punish a white player in the same fashion. Racial profiling is a real problem. I don't see any reason to believe it was present in this case however. I could be wrong though, I wasn't there. I think a white guy would have had his car searched if it didn't have plates on it.
  2. Are you serious? The world hasn't changed at all in your eyes? Ignorance is bliss huh?
  3. Why is Whitey in quotation marks? I think Burress will recieve a suspension similar to Vicks. Plaxico is going to jail and the commish will take that into account, similar to the Vick case. Joe Q. Public football watcher has everything to do with what Goodell does. You still don't get it.
  4. IMO a large percentage of white citizens have a fairly severe reaction when they hear about black athletes carrying illegal firearms. Whether or not you want to buy it or not is up to you. I have witnessed the reaction from many fans. Whether you think its justified or not is up to you. I have no reason to believe the cop was racial profiling, so I refrain from that opinion. What does one case have to do with the other?
  5. That is not what I'm saying at all. I believe guns scare everyone but a large percentage of white people are especially sensitive to the subject.
  6. I did the best I could explaining it to you. Watch what happens to Plaxico, and you will see how mistakes with guns are dealt with. The list of players who have roughed up a woman is quite long, with many unpunished players. Domestic abuse is a nasty he said she said scenario. It is also something that all cultures deal with. The bottom line is that unlicensed handguns and shootouts scare the shiit out of white America. Regardless of where you stand on the issue, this fact has major implications on the leagues success.
  7. Yes, lawmakers make laws and breaking the law is not in the NFLs best interest. The buying public is the reason the NFL even exists and is the most important influence on players and owners alike. The players union represents the players and has alot to do with what the commish can and can't do. The personal conduct policy gives Goodell the ability to punish players on actions detrimental to the league's best interest, even if it isn't a convicted offense. What don't you get?
  8. Yawn. Why no racial profiling lawsuit? Until ANYBODY but homer fans, dispute the police work in this case, I will tend to believe the reports.
  9. Perhaps the young lady was profiling Marshawn and threw herself in front of the car? You are grasping at straws here cap. We all want Lycnh back on the field but he needs to be held accountable for his actions.
  10. The player's union would not have allowed this.

  12. WTF? The car didn't have plates on it! You people just spread garbage.
  13. I'd say the buying public should be his biggest concern. No?
  14. It's not just my opinon. It's the opinion of our lawmakers and the buying public.
  15. Penis to the chest? Congratulations Mr. Fancy Pants, you won the freaking gene lottery!
  16. Exactly Peter. The bottom line is Goodell might have gone easy in the Marshall situation but who knows the circumstances. I don't know what Marshall has been convicted of and how the player's union viewed that situation. The player's union influences every move the league makes. The NFL is far more concerned with firearms than it is with domestic disputes. It might seem disturbing to some but it's the truth. Every league in the world has drunk driving, drugs , womanizing, and domestic violence. The NFL and NBA are terrified of the guns. As they should be. An unlicensed firearm is far more damaging than a bloody nose.
  17. +1 The sue happy crowd doesn't understand personal responsibility and aren't capable of filtering the BS.
  18. Blue moon is delicious but not something I'd want to drink all day. To be honest their aren't many beers I don't like. Although, I can't really tolerate Heineken.
  19. Thanks Fez. I'll let you know if I go with Sportsbook.
  20. Thanks Magox. Is it a direct buy set up or do you have to involve a third party?
  21. First off, are these sites legal? I was under the assumption that they weren't legal anymore, but lately all I hear about are players who still enjoy normal online poker. I was a big fan of party poker, when it was still available for U.S. citizens. Does anyone here play? I'm interested in a well regulated and controlled site. I'd prefer something that allows direct payment and not a third party. Someone told me that Sportsbook poker is a great site. I just hesitate putting any money down without having any solid feedback. Thanks in advance.
  22. I'm not calling her a liar. Her recorded voice at the scene was an accurate account of what she said to 911. Her comments after were also based on what she said to dispatch. This women has been the target of people calling her a racist as well. She has had to defend herself on the matter. The initial report is pointless anyway. The case isn't going to court for racial profiling and the identity of the two men involved were never in question. The cop doesn't benefit one bit from falsifying the initial report. I'm not prepared to call the cop a liar in regards to something so insignificant.
  23. Is it possible she got a better look at the men, after the initial phone call? Is it possible that she verbally told the officer something different at the scene? It is a mute point because we don't know exactly what transpired at the scene.
  24. What are you trying to prove? That the officer got the call, and on his way to the scene decided to change the information on his own, in a fit of racism? Does that even make sense? To my knowledge they were the only two at the house. What difference does it make what the initial report was?
  25. It's an interesting sidenote, that Crowley was the responding officer in the Reggie Lewis call. He gave Reggie Lewis mouth to mouth trying to save his life. By every other report the guy is a good cop.
