  1. Lets take a look at all of those losses in 06. @NE lost by 2 NYJ lost by 8 @ Chicago lost by 33 @ Detroit lost by 3 NE lost by 22 @ INDY lost by 1 SD lost by 3 TENN. lost by 1 @BALT. lost by 12 The reality is Buffalo had a brutal schedule that year and some of the worst assembled talent in years. JP had a very good season for a second year starter and the team was only beaten badly a couple of times. While I'm not a JP apologist, I have to wonder what could have been, had Dick not derailed his career.
  2. It's been posted before but I think it is a clear example of how a QB can effect the way an offensive line is viewed. Last year the Pats line was being discussed as if it needed to be overhauled. They have somehow returned to their dominant form, despite the same general makeup. The only difference being the QB in place. 2007 Pats with Brady 21 sacks 2008 Pats with Cassel 48 sacks 2009 Pats with Brady 16 sacks It doesn't get any clearer than that. A solid QB can buy you more time in the pocket, he feels the pressure and gets the ball out quicker. It has everything to do with instincts and feel for the game. I absolutely agree that constant pressure will get to any QB. The Saints v.s Pats game last week is a great example of this. Another great example would be the Giants over Pats superbowl. Tom Brady despite the relentless pressure had his team in position to win despite those circumstances. That is a blowout with your average QB. O-lines are going to perform poorly on occasion, even the outstanding ones. The great QBs can keep you in the game despite the pressure, even if they are off their own personal game. I'm not in love with any of the QB prospects in this draft. I would not be upset at all if the Bills took lineman with every pick in this draft. The idea that a great LT is more valuable than a great QB is a joke though. If this teams pitiful scouting deartment feels the next good QB is available, they better take him. Talk to Minnesota fans about having a great line and no QB.
  3. QB play is the difference between winning and losing. Sure an offense is going to be better with a solid o-line but a good QB can win with what he's given. I suppose every elite QB that has played in this league, has been blessed with a solid o-line his entire career. Peyton Manning would have this team in contention this year. As would a dozen or so other QBs around the league. If you want to contend long term and ASAP, you have to get a QB.
  4. I couldn't disagree more. This isn't the SEC and speed alone doesn't kill. Everyones fast, even the bigger players. Our run defense this year should be a good indicator as to what happens when you don't have enough size.
  5. Thurman Thomas and Jim Kelly have been disrespected for 10 years running. I can't imagine that whatever was said could be more embarassing than that.
  6. I am 30 years old and the majority of my peers haven't fallen into a career yet. I just went to a highschool reunioin and found that many of them are on unemployment, work at an entry level position, or are still going to school. A few have landed a good job but most are still looking. My school was about 50-50 in terms of white and black students. The truth is everyone I know my age, who is on enemployment, absolutely love it. It was openly talked about in a bragging fashion and all the angles used to get it were covered. Really pathetic. I know alot of people who turn down decent jobs in order to keep the checks coming. In more than one circle of conversation, people were discussing which jobs would allow them to get unemployment down the road. I have a small construction business and have been approached by countless people on unemployment, who want to work a couple days a week under the table. I felt bad for these guys at first, but than I started to see how much money they were putting together with minimal stress. I usually pay my guys a hundred a day (6-8 hours). The guy that has worked with my buddy for the last year has put in 6 days a week. While on unemployment, he has been able to bank a grand a week without any stress. Big money? No, but easy money. He is already working on his next temporary job between unemployment sessions. This is just my experience with unemployment. I know it isn't a representation of the system as a whole but I thought I'd share. I also work in depressed areas every so often. Whether it's the ghetto ot the trailer park, a weekday afternoon scene will piss off any hardworking individual. Kids who should be in school are doing whatever and adults sitting around drinking or smoking. It is never ever different. I'm not saying that everyone in these areas are doing nothing but I will say most. Signs offering employment are almost always within walking distance as well. IMO, the system is beyond flawed. I have no problem helping out anyone who is having hard times but what's going on is a joke. Throwing money at a problem never seems to work by itself but it's the American way.
  7. The seventh rounder is Matt Flynn and he has supposedly looked really good. If Green Bay didn't want him, they wouldn't have matched the Bills offer. Reports out of camp last year, said that Brohm was up and down with his play. Flynn and him battled all through pre-season for the backup job and Flynn was more consistent. Too say he's lucky to have a job is just a case of spewing garbage for the sake of an argument.
  8. Lucky to still have a job? The guy is a second round pick who hasn't even taken a snap yet.
  9. I'd like to see the Bills play spoiler and shatter the Colts dream the last week of the season.
  10. Ryan Fitzpatrick is playing well enough to keep his starting job and IMO he should be given the chance to continue his improvement. I don't see why the team should be in hurry to pull a relatively young QB who is starting to develop a nice rapport with this offense. This is really only his second year with real playing time and I think he is better than many give him credit for. I personally didn't give him enough credit. Now, I'm not saying Fitzy is the future of the Bills but at this point the team can't rule out any prospect. Afterall, the league has seen stranger paths to success. I have nothing against Brohm either. I think he was a tremendous college QB and is very early in his career. Matt Flynn played his way into good favor with the Pack and we are fortunate to get Brohm because of it. I just hope the team continues to actively pursue other QBs this offseason and end up having a talented crop to work with in camp next year.
  11. Fair enough, buddy. Our line is enough to worry about.
  12. The only one with the misconception is you my friend. You can't watch a Packers game without noticing how porous it is. If thats not enough the commentators are constantly reminding the viewers that it is one of the worst units we've seen in years. Rodgers hangs in there as long as he can but he has no choice, he rarely has time to get out of the pocket. Being one of the more mobile QBs in the league he has actually greatly reduced the number of sacks that should be credited to this group. It's really not all that close. The Bills pass protection has been poor but no where near all-time poor. Just looking at the stats, one would have to think that Edwards got himself sacked quite often. How else do you explain the huge difference with Fitz and him. Aaron Rodgers had 34 total sacks last year. He has 44 now and the final total is going to crush last year. He didn't all of sudden forget how to get rid of the ball.
  13. Pay attention Jimmy, Tennessee is one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now. Sure they started poorly but they have rattled off 4 wins in a row and are starting to look like the team that won 13 games last year. They have been consistently competitive since their introduction into the league and they have had far more success than the Bills in that time frame. That is thanks in part to their great coaching and scouting. So yes I personally do wish we where like the Titans. Nothing loser about that.
  14. This is your spin Magox, and it is obvious to anyone who takes the time to read your posts. To say that the Packers offensive line isn't even almost as bad as the Bills, is flat out wrong. I have watched the majority of Green Bay's games this year. Just like Alpha I go and watch the games every week at the same bar, that has the ticket. You have no idea what Aaron Rodgers has to do, just to survive behind that line. It's nothing short of amazing. Your dilemma is how do you convince others that most of those sacks are his fault. The problem is that anyone who watches the games sees right through your crap. The truth is Buffalo has a piss poor line much like Green Bay's, but probably slightly better. Aaron Rodgers would make alot of plays behind this line. Sorry to burst your bubble. TE certainly didn't get helped behind this line but his play speaks for itself. The line seems to hold up much better for Fitzpatrick. Why do you think that is? Edwards 181 attempts 21 sacks Fitzpatrick 108 attempts 6 sacks Kind of makes you wonder how bad it would look if Fitzy had been handeling the starting duties all year. Here is a nice read on the packer line. If you don't trust me or the other posters who watch these games, just research it for yourself and you will find alot more articles just like it. http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/69537632.html
  15. I think he is more like Joe Flacco. I like Pike the best but all of these QBs have questions. I don't know I'm just not sold. At least not with our top ten pick.
  16. You and a handful of Trent supporters are the only ones downplaying how bad Green Bay's line is. In some bizarre way some here find the need to put down Rodgers and other good QBs accomplishments, as if this protects TE's dismal play somehow. LMAO, it is the last dying breathe of the TE's merry band of apologists. Rodgers is having one hell of a season behind what many experts think is the worst line in a few years.
  17. Ted Ginn v.s. Donte Whitner I'd be more than happy to let these two buckeyes play grab ass on the sidelines and go 10 on 10.
  18. I'm thankful that many of the Bill's past greats are still passionate about this team.
  19. Chain of Command that would make TSW meltdown Owner: Ralph Wilson GM: Marv Levy Chief Operating Officer: Russ Brandon Coach: Dick Jauron Offensive Coordinator: Mike Mularkey Defensive Coordinator: Greg Williams
  20. Lets hope the accusation is false for the sake of this young girl, your co-worker, and the reputation of the hospital.
  21. Isn't it fairly easy to test this women and see if he indeed did have sex with her?
  22. Even an offensive guru can't coach around this offense, at least under it's current state. Shanny has to decide if he thinks he can fix this team quicker than his other choices. I can't speak for any of these guys. Shanny might want to have free reign to bring in all his own players or maybe he wants something that would take just a little tweaking like Dallas.
  23. No doubt stupid move, but Wilson doesn't approach Jones or Snyder in terms of meddling.
  24. What everyone continues to overlook is that Shanny has all the money he could ever want. It's not the owner. It's not the money. It's not the small city. These guys want to win and win now. Shanny is going to the team he feels is close enough, to turn around within two seasons, and of course he wants total control. I don't know if this team is close enough or not in his mind.
