More hilarity and fun. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_...?urn=nfl,207862

Raji is a beast. He is not just playing but starting to really dominate.

Snow day huh?

Hit it on the head, Weo. Ochocinco is so self-absorbed, it is offensive. That garbage belongs in the WWF and it makes the the NFL look stupid. What other professional sports league do you have players bringing costumes and props to the game? I'm sure all of his teammates are thrilled when he pulls out his costumes and pisses all over their sidelines with his charade. Carson Palmer probably loves standing in the pocket and taking a huge hit in order to complete a pass. Then while getting a little treatment on the sideline he gets to see the team idiot don his sombrero and poncho. Hilarious. I'm glad the other 31 teams in the NFL still have control and a sense of how to act like a pro.

Bruce was obviously not always a class act. I thought we were talking about on the field stuff. You probably got it right with the sour grapes syndrome. I'm not old enough to be anti-fun and I generally enjoy other antics. For whatever reason I'm not amused by ochocinco. Apparently, I stand alone!
-
Wow, I guess there is no debate! I still find the guy annoying but it must just be a personal preference. Obviously after reading this thread, he must be good for the NFL. I can't argue the overwhelming support of ochocinco.
-
I think you are right.
-
I agree that he is not a bad guy. I just think his act is dull. I'd bet it is twice as annoying for his teammates.
-
Ochoquatro? Nothing annoying about his act. I don't remember his constant need for self-promotion and obnoxious antics. All of those Bills celebrated and had swagger! Chad uses WWF type props to seek personal attention. Not the same thing.

The difference between the Bills and the Patriots
PushthePile replied to tomdayfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tom Brady is a nancy and the cracks in the Cheatriots foundation are growing. Brian Brohm will be loaning Gisele out to his o-line soon enough. -
Just curious, as to what you posters think of this guy. The NFL just fined him $30,000 for his stupid pocnho and sombrero act this weekend. They have already fined him a number of times this season and previous seasons. The last one prior to the sombrero was $20,000 for pretending to bribe an official with cash. To me this guys act is utterly lame. I'm not one who opposes celebrating and having fun on the field but what he does is just not funny. Whether it's his name change or his idiotic props, I'm completely over the Chad Johnson act. What is remotely entertaining about him putting a sombrero on? How much money has this assclown given the NFL for slowing down the game and annoying everyone? Statistics have shown that a large number of pro football players go broke eventually. I can't help but wonder if Ochocinco will look back at all his antics and laugh or puke. The amount of money he has given the league has to be outrageous. The guy is great player and has IMO tarnished what he should be remembered for. If you were the commish how do you handle this in the future? Do you continue to hand out increasing fines or does it eventually warrant a suspension?

Hey, did anyone see ProBowler Jason Peters today?
PushthePile replied to The Senator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kyle Williams is better than Spencer Johnson and John Mcargo but I wouldn't make him the top paid DT in the league. Jason Peters played is cards well enough to get a fat payday and I can't fault him for that. In his business he'd be stupid not to chase the big dollars while he can. Even with our current state of the o-line, I'm gald we didn't give Peters his payday. His play just doesn't justify it. I'm happy enough with our compensation. IMO, the only real loser will prove to be the Eagles. -
Hack is putting it kindly. The guy seems to be less informed than your average part-time fan.

Kelly didn't get hit anymore in his last three years than he did in his first three. This is a common misconception. The truth is his style of play often left him open to taking shots. His body couldn't take the blows later in his career, and the line subsequently appeared to be at fault. This often the case with a star QB later in his career. A player is obviously not as mobile as he once was, and what was before a drag to the ground tackle becomes a chance for a defender to tee off. Steve Young comes to mind. That guy seemed capable of escaping everything for a long time. Toward the end, he looked like a tackling dummy. This is the harsh reality of sports.

Trent Edwards should be starting

No, he sprinkled in a few mediocre ones too. -

Adios credibility! -
Nick Saban whipped Urban Meyer today. Florida's defense was badly confused all day by a sound Bama gameplan. Kudos to Mark Ingram too, that guy is tough as hell. All the hatred for Tebow is kind of pathetic. I agree he probably doesn't have the skills to be a good NFL QB but he is a hell of a college player. Why all the hatred for him? It's not his fault he is overhyped. I love the hypocrites who excuse guys like Vick and Lynch but crap all over a KID like Tebow. I wish the Buffalo Bills cared about winning just half as much as these kids. Tebow crying today is alot more respectable than our overrated, gold teethed, moron of a RB yucking it up on the sideline when his teams getting blown out.

$9 million/year for a #2 receiver
PushthePile replied to bananathumb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Evans is a nice talent who could have been great in the right circumstances. He isn't physically dominant enough to make it happen in Buffalo. He'd be lights out with a good supporting cast and a QB who actually knows what a timing route is. Eric Moulds was a player that a QB could just put the ball out there for and let him make a play. These are the type of recievers who can be productive on every team. Evans is more like Greg Jennings, Sanatana Moss, Donnie Avery, Santonio Holmes, and Peerless Price. A really nice talent but a waste without the right support. -
The question is not does a good o-line help an offense. The question is can a good QB produce behind a below average o-line, and the answer is yes. The vice-versa is also true, in that a bad QB can screw up a good o-line. The OP asked OL or QB. Assuming that he meant good OL or good QB, the debate is non-existent. A good QB is the only position in football that literally effects the play of everyone else. The comparison to Tom Brady and Cassel stemmed from comparing how each guy effects that same offense. You turned it into how Cassel developed behind that o-line. Which once again leaves you miles away from the point, which is becoming a constant. Cassel's MINIMAL development was thanks in no part to the Pats o-line. In fact that o-line has become a major weakness on an otherwise stacked offense. Matt Cassel is having a similar performance this season in KC to his performance last year. The point was that the Pats o-line is average to below average, and is exposed even worse when a mediocre QB is at the helm. If you put Tom Brady behind center the line is helped out immensely and overall production goes up. This doesn't even take into account Brady is recovering from surgery still and has had a much more difficult schedule this year. No team sport is more effected by one position. Year in year out the best QBs have their teams in the playoffs. You can usually go right down the playoff list and check off the best QBs in the league. They all don't always have the greatest o-lines and running games. It's virtually impossible to be a consistent winner every year without a QB. You can do it with a patchwork o-line.

Trent Edwards should be starting
PushthePile replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Should we pretend his first 30 starts didn't happen? -
Made your argument for you? You are delusional. Cassel looks to be the same bum in K.C. that he was in NE. He didn't learn and grow behind a solid o-line. He came in on the fly and looked putrid only to develop into mediocre. Big deal! The afc east played one of the easiest schedules ever that season and Cassel was on the best team. Sacks are only a single example of how a line protects but it is often a glaring example. If you can't see the difference between Brady and Cassel, then I am afraid the argument is pointless.
-
I definatley think that JP would have been decimated behind this line but I also believe he would have put the ball in the hands of playmakers more often. Probably defenders as well. The overall results would have been not much different. I just said that JP has a shred of upside, but by no means is he a good enough QB to overcome the Bills current situation.
-
Just waive the white flag, please! You are trying to discredit the abilities of Andre Johnson, Randy Moss, Marques Colston, Steve Smith , T.O., and Revis? Talk about making yourself look foolish for the sake of an argument, and one in which you are CLEARLY wrong. By the way Revis is almost always locked into one on one coverage. That is what makes him so special.
-
Lol, just the response I expected. Like I said I'm not a JP apologist, and i do believe he was/is a project. I hesitated to even respond to the 06 season because of the reaction it usually ignites. Losman's second year was not all that different from Jimbo's first three. I am by no means saying that he had a great career cut short by coaching. I'm just of the opinion he still has a shred of upside, but not here in Buffalo. I hope he does alright.
