Pilot dies during Continental flight
Wacka replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The networks are going crazy. Fear mongerers. There are two first officers on board. This was a routine landing. Even the first officers have a lot of experience. The 777 can almost land itself. -
Saw it Sunday night for free. Again, Eastwood was great. He has said that it's probably his last acting gig. He might direct a few more. Should have gotten the Oscar.

It's the New Yorker. Show us 90% of the footage they threw out. Reminds me of when I was a Freshman at UB in 1976. I was sitting on the steps at Norton Hall and one of the TV stations was asking students who said "Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death" ? (it was Patrick Henry's Birthday) Three people didn't know and about 50 did. What do they show? The three idiots and three others, making it look like UB students are idiots.

Why doesn't ABC get their official White House knee pads with the Presidential Seal on them right now.

You aren't the guy that came out to the SF Bay area in the 90s and then got a sex change operation? Just joking. There was a guy that was on weekends out here that was called Weird old Uncle Frank, with a fairly mellow deep voice. Well, he really was weird, because I read that while on the air, he was pre-op for a sex change.

What do you call 100 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean?
Wacka replied to Fastback's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Socialism is communism light. Lets see, the govt control most of the auto and banking, Then with the One's socialized medicine, they control health care. When more papers fold, they'll try to control the newspaper industry. That's Pravda. I said "communism here we come". I didn 't say it was here yet. -
Not me, but a girlfriend I had in college wasdriving her brother's Ford Falcon. She stopped at a light and heard a gigantic boom. The motor mounts had rusted out and the engine and tranny fell out of the car!

Also, cut out the illegals from using it. Now he wants to add another fifth of the economy to govt control. Communism here we come. -
68 Mustang. Had a dark purplish/burgundy color. Bought it a few months after the Blizzard of 77. Had it 2 weeks and a 16 year old girl T-boned me. My friends called it the bruised grape. Ended up in the junkyard. The floor behind the drivers seat was rotting. You could see the road through a hole in the rug. Eventually a crack formed that started to travel over the drive shaft hump. In the winter of 78, the doors would freeze and I couldn't get the latches to catch. Drove to class at UB once with both doors tied shut!

Ever come soooooo close to a car accident and miss?
Wacka replied to /dev/null's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Here they have signs on the freeway saying : "No injuries? Pull to shoulder." That's because goats eating the weeds on the embankment cause a 3 mile jam or a murder investigation on a seldom used off ramp (there was nothing blocking the road causes a 15 mile, 3 hour jam. -
Another example at the Peace Bridge-this one in the 1960s-1970s: My father worked as a dock worker for a company that hauled meat (sides of beef, cases, of it, etc). They were told to go down to the Peace Bridge and transfer the meat from a Canadian truck to theirs.Someone (the boss) had forgot to tell customs. After the meat was transferred, they started questioning the workers. My father said they were being lectured, questioned and yelled at for about 2 hours. He was sure the rubber glove was next. When their boss finally showed up, they stopped bothering them and the authorities questioned their boss for an hour. Ended up that customs sealed the truck and the seal had to be removed by a customs agent in NYC (where it was headed). An aside about that company. Prisoners in the early 70si n Attica (around the time of the riot there) were complaining that they were getting rotten baloney and that any good meat was going to the guards. BS. My father had to deliver sides of beef there once. There was WAY too much beef for the guards to be getting it. They had to drive in and out over a pit with a guard in it and a guard over the truck. After parking and unlocking the trailer, they went to a locked area. Prisoners then came out and unloaded the truck. Back out over the pit to be sure no one was escaping. or smuggling stuff.

They can search anything brought into the country including your body cavities. Benn like that forever. Example: They can take apart your car at the Peace Bridge looking for drugs and don't have to put it back together.

I love this. Palin goes to NYC for a fundraiser for developmental disabilities and Guliani (now a private citizen)invites her to a Yankees game. The liberal MSM reports this and Letterman and his writers write bad and partisan jokes about it and the left is complaining that she won't go away. Complain about Letterman and the MSM, they are the ones that keep bringing her up. Give them all Midol for their PMS (Palin Madness Syndrome).

If I made a joke on how the messiah's wife's dress looked like it came from Goodwill (which it did), you'd be screaming bloody murder.

Classic video - Last 2 minutes of Bills/dolphins 9/10/89

Our neighbor's daughter was a young kid then and she was playing outside during theat game. Since it was September, the windows were open. She said she could hear the roar from both her house and ours when Kelly scored. Contrast that to when I first moved to the SF area. It was the Niners last Super Bowl and I lived in an apartment in Silicon Valley. I watched it with the windows open to hear the cheers when they won. Not a sound before, during. or after the game. -

Back in the 80s, I was in Dulles and security was arguing wit a woman in Spanish. She was about 5'2 and about 50-60. I asked what was going on and security said she was trying to take a hammer on the plane-WTF?? Also hear a flight attendant ask who checked in the bowling ball that was in the closet in first class once. A few Christmas' ago I'm flying out of Buffalo back to SFO. Security asks to search one of my carry ons. They found an Xacto knife. I use it for work and forgot to take it out of the bag. I said to throw it out, as it cost less than sending it in the mail. Didn't tell them that SFO TSA missed it on the trip to Buffalo. They copied my license. Now I'm on a list at the Buffalo Airport.

I remember the CNN guys setting a dish up on their balcony to broadcast and then stalling the local cops on live TV, We had an invite for our lab to go there and give lectures until that happened.
