  1. Things that get screwy after a stroke can get better. I had a stroke back in July 2014. Had trouble waking but walking just one house further from home each time it was nice from March to July 2015 got me up to 1.25 miles before I had to take a rest. Was watching a baseball game and the Word Cup while in rehab and they a looked like they were standing in a line, although I knew they were baseball and soccer games. The things in the room looked normal. That lasted only a few days. Only residual effects are a very, very slight weakness on my left side when lifting heavy stuff, needing to make a list while shopping for >3 items and geting dizzy after looking up for a while which goes away immediately after looking forward and closing my eyes for a few seconds. I am very glad he recovered and the stroke has brought back his common sense.
  2. There's that demetria gesture with his arms again. But no he's still sharp as a tack.
  3. Well, Joke has been plagerizing for decades. Why stop now?
  4. Live From Studio 6B on Real America's Voice today played clips of Reagan speaking at the 40th anniversary of D-Day back in 1984. He was 73 then, not much younger than Joke is today. The they played clips of Joke today. What a difference. The whole show is available on You Tube.
  5. Heard audio of him today. Barely spoke above a whisper.
  6. I've told this story before. September 30 1980. Was at this game. Dad was in the Oncology ward at Mercy Hospital. Mom was visiting him all day the next day and I swung by to pick her up after work. Was telling him about the game. About 6:45 he said he was cold and sleepy as he really couldn't sleep well the night before. So mom and I decided to go home and let him rest. Starts coughing up blood and was dead in a few minutes. The lung tumor was right alongside his trachea and he bled to death when it ruptured.
  7. Do you have a cockatoo and a NYC accent Mickey Gubitosi? And dat's the name of dat tune.

  9. Newer posters don't know that Stevestojan was for a time the substitute for s**t in the swearing filter because he was so full of Stevestojan.
  10. This is the day that Trump clinched the presidency again.

  15. They can beat the current in the Niagara River. They have been spotted on Navy Island.
  16. They built a Tesla produced EV charging station in the parking lot of a Tops Market near the West Seneca-Cheektowaga town line last fall. I have never seen a car charging up there. In fact I have NEVER seen a Tesla anywhere in WNY. The only one I have ever see in person was one on the Interstate i nthe SF Bay area when I visited there in 2022. The only vehicle I have see at the charging station in West Seneca was a West Seneca cop car using it to hide behind to catch speeders.
  17. The other day saw a clip where I think he was awarding a Medal of Honor. A female soldier was holding it up so he could grab it, turn and put it on the honoree. He tried to shake the female soldier's hand and had have someone come up and tell him what to do.
  18. Update on 5-25: All tests are fine. Docs keep tweaking my main anti-rejection med. No signs of rejection but my blood level of it keeps being slightly higher or lower than ideal, so they said it is best to be sightly higher. Took me off of a med to treat heartburn. Some of the other meds can have that as a side effect but have had none. Another one I was scheduled to come off of anway. I got the OK to go out in public without an mask. They also said it was OK to go to smaller events but to carry a mask if I notice a sick person. I went to a get together for my hobby last Monday with about 15 people. Last week Wednesday, I went in for a checkup and they told me I could graduate to monthly visits. Just before leaving, the director comes i ad asks yo see how my incision healed. She inspects it and that I have fluid under it. She says it needs to be drained. She does it refers me to visiting nurses for would care. Last Friday they came with a wound vac ad that I have to wear it for several weeks until the incision fully heals. They pack it with a sponge and put a waterproof membrane over it with a hose. It's hooked up to a pump that draws a slight stuction to draw the fluid out. Doesn't hurt a bit and I just have to unhook the pump to take a shower. So now I have to go every week again for them to see how it is healing.
  19. I still remember the exact time that my mom died 2 ½ years ago and the time when my dad died 34 years ago.
  20. To BS, a hippocampus is a college for hippopotamuses.
  21. When I was in the cub scouts in the late 60's, they took us to a local exchange building to see how it worked. Those racks in the film had hundreds of small golf club shaped "levers" in each one that clicked into place when making a connection in the circutry (this was before the push button phone days). Boy, it was noisy in there.
  22. Had a bad allergy to ragweed Came on when I was 18. Would go through a box of Kleenex in a day. Once strained a neck muscle from sneezing so hard. Had to take drixoral which doped me up (not made anymore). Lived in CA for close to 20 years where the allergy went away. The pollen must be slightly different there as compared to WNY. The I moved back here it came back but not as bad. Take Allegra now when it hits . Started getting an itchy nose when cottonwood trees bloom. Yesterday saw the fuzzies floating around and the nose itched.
