In the SF bay area, they have been on a crusade for years to get rid of eucalyptus trees. They can topple easily in winds about 40 mph and higher. Also, they are not native and their bark comes off a lot and prevents much from growing underneath. Also the turkey vultures like to roost in them and the ground is covered with a lot of their poop, further preventing stuff on the ground from growing. And with all the oil in them, in a fire they go up like kindling.
There is a grove of them on the Berkey campus and when you walk through it, it smells like Halls cough drops.
