Trollin' Trollin' Trollin', keep those libbies screamin'......

Lived in SF area for almost 20 years. Strange seeing robins appear in the fall. Sure is spring here. My landlord told me the other day that they have a nest right iutside their front door with several blue robin eggs in it. In CA we had blue herons that would sit on top of the chimneys or in the pond in the Apts I lived in. Saw white egrets many times in creeks or drainsge ditches. Much more common were hawks or turkey vultures circling above the hills. You could tell where there was road kill as the turkey vultures showed up immediately if something was hit. I just heard that there is a bad eagle nest down the street next to Cayuga Creek in Cheektowaga. Maybe that's why we don't have a vermin problem even though the creek is less than 200 ft away. I saw a ring necked pheasant once on the guardrail of the 190 by the Smith Street exit (by Larkinville). Back in the early 60s, we used to have hundreds of pheasant tracks in the snow in the yard. They disappeared once they began developing the massive French Road neighborhood in Cheektowaga (just 3-4 mies away).

You asked, and they listened… (Bills on Hallmark)

I got railroaded into watching one of those Hallmark movies and it checked every box. The woman was planning her wedding at her family's maple syrup farm in NE. She's driving up there from NYC(?) and all the leaves are changing. She is talking o the phone about the sap is flowing. Sap flows in the late winter/early spring. She has a gay black boss, and her maid of honor is a latina with the Rosie Perez accent. The minister she picks is black, Just about the only white people at this wedding in Vermont are her and her fiancé, her soy-boy brother, and her parents in the whitest state in the US. Seemed to me they had to cover all the PC bases. -
PBS has had commercials fpr years. What do you think are those concert videos that spend half the time shilling a DVD of the concert?

Have you been screened for syphilis? Cause it seems to me your brain has been turned to mush. Remember that's what killed Al Capone. -

The local people would feed the deer and they were basically tame. They had signs saying don't feed the wildlife. One woman would take a wagon out on the trails and scatter food for them. They caught her several times and fined her. They finally had to lock her up for a month or so to get her to stop. I was walking down one of the trails once in the winter and a doe and fawn passed by me at a distance of maybe 10 feet. They were close enough to smell them. They looked at me and just kept on strolling by.

Deer are a big problem also. Steiglemer Town Park in Cheektowaga has a few areas pf 10x10 feet fenced off with chicken wire with a 10 foot high fence around them. Inside the fece the foliage is thick and lush. Outside of it, the trees are bare up to about 6 feet and the ground has just low plants. The sign on them says htat the entire park would look like the inside if it weren't for the deer eating all the foliage. Every fall they close the park for a week pr two and have hunters thin the herd. The park is on a creek so there is no way to keep them out. They can also spread chronic wasting (deer mad cow) disease so thinking the hard helps that. I worked for a while at the Buffalo Botanical Gardens in South Park and people would ask me why we didn't plant tulips along the approach to the front door anymore. My boss told me that when we closed at 4 PM, the deer would show up within a half hour and start decimating the tulips.

Another master stroke of trolling. Today they put out a post wanted list of illegal alien scum criminals that were grabbed by ICE with their photos, what they did and Captured above their names. They were posted on the WH fence!

How much did you pay for gas and groceries today?
Wacka replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Being retired, it gets me out of the house. Go every few days. Also with my bad back and recovering the past year from the transplant, I usually get one bag's worth of stuff at a time. Have to lug it all upstairs to my 2nd floor apt. -

It's a car wash, gas station, detailing, and oil change place now. They usually have 16 pumps (except for the older locations).
