The biggest quake on earth since 2011 (Fujiyama?) hit in the Pacific off Kamchatka in Russia at about 4:45 PM EDT. No details yet but tsunami warnings issued for Hawaii for 7 PM Hawaii time (1 oe 2 AM EDT?).

A 27 year old man from Las Vegas with what appears to be an AR-15 walked into 345 Park Avenue in NYC and killed an off duty police officer who was security. He then went up to the 32nd and 33rd floors and killed 4 civilians. He was neutralized (killed or shot himself). 345 Park Avenue is the location of the NFL HQ.

Tom Lehrer, 97 died in Cambridge, MA Saturday 7/26. He was well known for his satirical and political songs in the 50s and 60s, with his two best known being "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park" and "The Elements". The Elements took the periodic table of the elements and put it to the tune of "Major-General's Song" from Gilbert and Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance.
