This Thread is about Kyle Orton

Just reading this thread has sent me back to therapy...... -
He saw them win one once. Great tribute!

Is anyone else less invested in this season than normal?
BMWR100RT replied to Cal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can't wait to see what plays out. With all the racial problems on display in America, who to better have an inside look at both the systemic racism, poverty, incarceration and lack of opportunity than the few who have made it through. If this is just about football plays and not the football players, then you are missing the real story. I will applaud any display of the 1st Amendment. Standing, Saluting, Kneeling. Going to the bathroom or getting a beer. Love this country. -
I love this whole thread. Ha!

PanchoBilla enters Hospice (Has now passed away)
BMWR100RT replied to mead107's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I never met Pancho in person, but he embodied all the great attributes of so many fans who have gone before him. Mom and Dad, Jane, Uncle Bud, Penny and so many others are high five-ing you in right now. I think that is why he touched us all. RIP PanchoBilla. -
Kyle Williams: Officially Retires
BMWR100RT replied to Clemfield2622's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My son made the All Greater Rochester team in 2016. Jack Eichel and Kyle were the features speakers at the banquet. Jack was really good, but after Kyle spoke I swear I myself wanted to tackle somebody. He may have a future in coaching. -
National Anthem (Cameron Jefferson)

Crazy reading in this thread. My take is if he thinks he's causing people to think, more power to him. My family will be talking about this this weekend all because of his actions. A great read: https://onbeing.org/blog/what-i-said-when-my-white-friend-asked-for-my-black-opinion-on-white-privilege/ I'd guess the people who protest his actions live a pretty comfortable life. -
Gee....how Bills-ish. See Drew Bledsoe, Mario Williams, Terrell Owens, etc. Give him a key to the city, and then all the fans will re-up seasons tickets and we can go 6-10, get a new coach in two years, rinse repeat. This smells of Russ, our modern PT Barnum.

How much money have you spent on Bills in the last decade?
BMWR100RT replied to Spurna's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Less and less each year they miss the playoffs. I went to 3-4 games all my life starting with one game at the Rockpile and opening day at Rich. I became really critical in the last 5 or so years of the Wilson ownership era (Ralph WAS cheap). I stopped going to games and even stopped listening and reading about the games but watched them all. The only thing extra-curricular I did was come to TBD. #gobills. After the Pegula's bought the team, I was all in until they hired Rex. My displeasure could not have been greater. How many years had I waited to assure they were staying in B-lo only to get a coach that made Jauron look good? So sitting and waiting has sucked. It got so bad that I would DVR the games, start watching the DVR'd games at about 2:45 for a 1 oclock game. FFing the dead space meant I'd get to the two minute warning live and have results in the same time as before, but not waste my day. The worst part is my two teenage boys could care less about football. One winning season in their lifetime and maybe they would be on board. Their friends are Steeler, Patriot, Dolphin fans are Bills fans in hiding. I feel like a failure as a Dad. Finally I'm stoked at the new coaching moves. #gobills -
[Misleading Title]Jerry Sullivan Fired!!
BMWR100RT replied to HereComesTheReignAgain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like Jerry.....like every grumpy opinionated uncle rolled into one. I bet he'd be a hoot drunk at the thanksgiving table. -
RIP Bruce. Loved your work ethic, your humor, your willingness to face the questions and your attention to detail.

bills are bad, so are its fans smashing tables

That's a lower body injury for sure. -
I scraped the Bills sticker off my car after the second loss. I guess you'll only know I'm a Sabres fan until they lose.

Will Rex be Fired W/ Loss to NE led by Jacoby Brissett?
BMWR100RT replied to jethro_tull's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wish I could even get them to watch football. We live in a Rochester suburb and all I ever see on kids are Patriots and Steelers jerseys and an occasional knucklehead kid wearing a Miami jersey (I have respect because fish are as hapless). My kids would get picked on in school if they supported the Bills. Thanks Ralph is right. I love my Bills and football, but even I DVR the games and start watching at about 2:30 so I don't waste all my Sunday afternoon. And I saw games at the Rockpile before you call me a bandwagon fan. The definition of insanity isn't lost on me. -
Will Rex be Fired W/ Loss to NE led by Jacoby Brissett?
BMWR100RT replied to jethro_tull's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I remember watching when Trent was QB and thinking we looked like JV playing Varsity. And now when I watch other teams I feel the same way. It got better with Fitz and Orton, but once REX took over, we don't seem ready, plays are late on offense, we take dumb penalties, play 10 yards of on 3rd and 3 and just lack emotion. We are JV again. Its mind numbing. He makes me miss Jauron its so bad. Watching the Patriots last night was just torture. The biggest thing is feeling like a failed parent because my kids don't even watch football. To them the Bills are losers and considering they are 16 and 14, it's hard to argue with them. I've taken them to a game each season and we've never won one that they've seen live. It's killing me. -
My all time favorite game was this: http://www.nytimes.com/1988/11/21/sports/bills-clinch-afc-east-crown.html It seems the goal post tear down has been scrubbed from video history, but I remember that game like it was yesterday. My late friend Jane and I and the group I was with just stood there wondering if this was really happening. The goal posts passed up to Ralph was epic. Such Joy. My second favorite moment was when the Pegula's bough the team and I was with my nephew who was not a Ralph Wilson supporter. As we entered the Miami / Wilson tribute season opener, they were handing out stickers with the RWS logo. Dan took his, took a look at it and handed it back and said politely "No thank you". All that it means to be a Bills fan in one simple transaction. It still makes me laugh. #GoBills.

The Nattering Nabobs of Negativity
BMWR100RT replied to racecitybills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"Win some games and shut us "nattering nabobs" up." This. Being a Bills fan is tough enough even without Dixie Whistlers. If you think things are rosy, please shut up. It really is OK to love the team and still be horrified at bad luck and ineptness. -
Like a Theisman? Once you see this you can't unsee it.

Merry Christmas Bill. I don't post often but yours are great and your thread is the first thing I read the day after. I think what gets me the most is how the Rex hire embarrasses the Pegulas. These appear to be pretty naive nice owners. I feel so fortunate to know the Bills are staying in WNY. But I can't help but feel embarrassed for Kim & Terry. They look like fools with Wrecks (love this) buffoonery. What an disorganized idiot. I can't see him ever becoming anything other than what his record says he is. When Washington converted on that long third down, I almost went Christmas shopping. I'd had enough. But I kept watching until the bitter end because.................#gobills

I think it's a valiant effort. I would add that observing the Bills is to watch disorganization. When the headsets didn't have fresh batteries it was no surprise to me. Attention to detail is the difference between success and failure.

Orange-men with Carmelo. And as someone mentioned, watching the Giants punk the undefeated Cheatriots was close. Unfortunately, a few of my friends are Giants fans who recognize the Bills for what it is- a second rate franchise with clueless management (still until proven otherwise). So I couldn't even celebrate publicly.

We are officially in AFC win-out mode (I think we are done)
BMWR100RT replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was watching the game with my Dad at the assisted living home he lives in last night. Absolutely knowing that just like mom and all the other great Bills fans up in the sky that he isn't going to see playoffs while he's on earth isn't BBFS. He looked at me after the tying field goal and with such great enthusiasm said "Wouldn't it be great if we won?" And then we quietly watched the game unfold and he went quiet. It's reality, but we keep watching. Even with some dimensia he commented on how much better organized the Pats were. My dad always valued organization and working hard but smart. Sad to watch his demeanor when we are a long way from that. Even so, his words as I left were "Go Bills". -
Reflecting on the Bills last 3 first round picks
BMWR100RT replied to Mr. WEO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"I stand by Whaley 100% if that is what this topic is about. Sammy is always hurt, couldn't have predicted that coming out of college." I can assure you that when he gets hurt you have two first round picks hurt. Dumbest draft move I've seen in years. And now what? The Bills are like the Sabres under Regier. Just good enough to stay average. The good news is I can go back to DVRing the game as I do when the season is lost and watching the entire game in 1:15, catching up to live TV just as time expire. It makes me feel less cheap watching this product somehow.
