If we are looking for one bottom line here

Orton or Manuel? I take Orton every time at this point. -
I have to vent (Lots of anger in here)

No one will get fired. Hackett sucks as an o-coordinator though. This team has talent, but in key spots, there are still some f-ups. See: McKelvin, Lee Smith, anyone on the line except for Wood. -
That phantom false start was brutal. McKelvin is indicative of everything this franchise has done wrong. How many games has his screw ups cost us in his illustrious tenure? And, am I crazy, or should they have tried for a first down rather than take shot after shot at the endzone during that last real drive they had?

Why I think Marrone should be fired...

That offensive line collapsing has a lot to do with the issues Orton faced. -
Bills vs. Patriots officiating thread
thecoz77 replied to Orton's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not one to whine about referees, but good lord, they seem to really pay attention to these so called "points of interest" when the Bills are committing them. I wonder if this will continue when his "highness" hangs it up. -
I live in the Jacksonville area, and I am a huge Bills fan. I have attended every game the Bills have played here. I will say, that in terms of amenities, comfort, ease of getting in and out, and parking, the Jags do a nice job. No doubt. However, the key to a Gameday experience is none of the above. A jacked up crowd and winning team do more than any pool, parking shuttle, or big screen can ever do.

EJ stinks, refs blew final call and...

The fact of this team is, there is no confidence in making key plays. Good teams, you just know it will turn out well, the Bills, you wait for 10 point leads to go away fast. This was the game where I accepted that Manuel is not the answer. -
the O-Line was not very good today. Our secondary was atrocious. McKelvin continues to be average at best. Gilmore gets one more year before he falls into the same category. Robey is OK, Graham was a non-factor. Williams is ok, but you feel the loss of Byrd in these type of games. I can easily pick apart EJ, but this was a team loss, not an EJ loss.

Keep: Kiko CJ Wood Dareus Williams (Mario and Kyle) Byrd, which means paying him Good luck filling the rest

The closest thing I can compare this one to is the Pittsburgh loss when they had their geeks in and we still couldn't win to get the playoffs. Chandler is/has been garbage, and Johnson is beyond the opposite of clutch. Clutch receivers and game changing tight ends typically separate the good teams from teams like the Bills.

I just don't know what this team is anymore

They need a TE who can catch, a playmaking receiver (sorry, Stevie is not it), a punter and kicker and if a better QB is on the board in round 1, go for it. -
A Few Thoughts About The Game, in no particular order
thecoz77 replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
14 years and counting. Truly amazing. -
I seem to remember the Bills playing the Steelers back in 86 and beating them in Levy's first game. The rest was history. Let's hope history repeats itself.

Need a better pass catching TE
thecoz77 replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought our receiving core was better, but looking at the big picture from TE to the receivers, it's a mess. The TE group is meh at best. The receivers have a lot of potential, but Stevie and Woods are not enough. Graham is useless, Goodwin is one dimensional and frankly, Woods has potential to be a star, but needs to step up. Next year is make or break with this crew. -
I think 8-8 is cause for celebration with this group. What I would do to get the Cincinnati and NE games back though.
-
Honestly, I think the Bills may be better off in the long run. The defense is young, and well coached (Mario and Kyle being the old timers), Spiller, when healthy, is one of the best in the game. Their receivers have a lot of raw talent, which will start to show sooner than later, and EJ hasn't even started to show what he is capable of. I think a solid TE and line upgrades will make the ultimate difference. Oh, and pay Byrd.

You said it

This team clearly has some good traits. When you look at the 4 losses we have, 2 could have easily gone our way, and the Cleveland game is going to be a question mark due to the injury to EJ and the horrid play of Tuel. With all of that being said, it seems we are missing one or two pieces that make this team 4-2 right now. What are those pieces? I cannot pinpoint it myself.

Who tops your list of "he's just not cuttn' it?" Who d

The injuries are compounding everything. Gilmore and Byrd might be the difference in at least 7 points today. CJ couldn't get going, and got hurt. Frankly, depth outside of the running game is atrocious on this team. That issues goes to the front office, who really is not (and has not) cut it for nearly 2 decades. -
I thought the same thing during this game.

Hacketts scheme is a major issue!

I would like to see more screens. I think that is a major aspect missing from this offense. -
Tight End needs to be addressed during the next Off Season

It Gets a Little Old Losing Close Games

Precisely. And then off to the grocery store, and see multiple Brady jerseys to rub it in (I live in the south, so the fairweather fans are always out en masse) -
Doesn't it? I wish we sucked to the point of blowouts, but we suck to the point of last minute losses. This is mind numbing.
