The best player on the Bills is the Punter
DCbillsfan replied to gjv001's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My brother and I were joking about this very topic a few weeks ago and we agreed that Moorman was the best player. We excluded TO because he hasn't played for them just yet. Pretty pathetic even if Moorman is in the top 5. -
Langston Walker released/Kirk Chambers re-signed
DCbillsfan replied to Warren Zevon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm thinking the same. The timing of these moves (Schonert, Walker) is absolutely befuddling. What did Schonert and Walker do to keep their jobs at the end of last season? Why do you get rid of them right before this season? I hope Bell is really ready and performs at a respectable level. I think he bench pressed 225 pounds 9 times at the Indy Combine. He looks like he has bulked up in the past year but he is a major question mark right now. What a mess! -

I'm hoping that they have something in the works. If not, what you said above. -
I want to be the first to say
DCbillsfan replied to metzelaars_lives's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So it has come down to comparing teams that are both going to suck. We beat Denver last year so what does that prove? Reality points out that the Bills are going to suck. I'm not pointing out a few preseason games. I'm pointing out 3 years of inept coaching and so on............... Reality bites. So we win a few more games then Denver. Big deal. I thought the goal was to build a good team that makes the playoffs consistently and is considered a legitimate contender every year or close to it. See New England, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, San Diego, Indianapolis, etc. But no, Buffalo is there with Cincinnati, Oakland, Cleveland, etc. Some folks would say the Bills are in neutral, some would say in reverse. But don't rain on your parade! Your prediction of a better offense in week 1 and a hell of a fight on national TV sounds like you are aiming for a moral victory which doesn't mean poop. -
Pats back up Kevin O'Connell is on waivers
DCbillsfan replied to ACor58's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If a player is arrogant and he thinks he knows everything then how do you coach that player? His old man thought he knew everything, never listened, and was an a$$. So if Kevin is anything like his old man, I'd stay away. I stick to my original post. -
Red - sorry for messing up your dream. I live in Northern VA too. We should get together at a Bills bar this season. I need someone to commiserate with and understand the pain we are all about to endure.

I worked with Kevin's dad for 3 years. His dad is a real a$$ and arrogant. If he's anything like his dad they should stay away. -
Unfortunately, I have zero confidence in Wilson doing the right thing. Even if he fires Jauron, he will screw it up by hiring some no name or someone who probably shouldn't be HC. Just like when Mularkey quit and we hired Jauron.

How is that Jason Peters trade looking now?
DCbillsfan replied to sharper802's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our GM is a joke and paying Kelsay, Schobel, Dockery, Walker that kind of money is/was moronic. But do you really think that Peters would be happy if the Bills gave him $10 million a year? He's a talented guy no doubt but Peters isn't 100% in the head. -
Has the coaching Search begun???
DCbillsfan replied to Smerlas 88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As much as Marty can't win the big game in the playoffs, he would certainly make the Bills a better team. -

DCbillsfan replied to sharper802's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I absolutely agree with you. -
When will you stop kidding yourself? Yes, it is preseason but this team has lost 8 out of the last 10 games that counted. They have followed that up with just awful games in the preseason. They don't even look close to being ready. Meanwhile, the Pats looked like they were in midseason form against the Redskins. Reality will eventually sink in for you. If the Bills get blown out by the Pats, what will say then?

How is that Jason Peters trade looking now?
DCbillsfan replied to sharper802's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Peters is a very talented player no doubt. He also is/was essentially a malcontent at least with the Bills. The Bills took a chance on him and signed him as an undrafted free agent. He developed well and became a dominant player. Then he became a distraction due to his contract of which the Bills had already redone once before. He held out last training camp and Langston Walker moved over to LT. The Bills thought Walker could play LT. Peters held out all training camp and reported in time to play the regular season. Despite making the Pro Bowl for the second time, most Bills fans realized that Peters did not have a good year. So the Bills trade Peters for draft picks and they think Walker can play LT. Walker played RT fairly decent last year and should remain at RT. The Bills have become so inept that they can't even evaluate the current roster talent let alone college talent. Ridding themselves of Peters was the right move but they should have drafted a LT in this years draft. That is where they screwed up along with keeping Dick Jauron. -
The clock for firing Dick Jauron will start the moment that the game ends between the Bills and New England. That game will be very ugly and Jauron will do nothing to instill any confidence in him. Fans will start booing Jauron at home games and the discontent will swell to a point where Wilson will have to do something before the season is over. I see this season spiraling out of control very quickly and within 6 games total disgust by most fans.

That is going to be one ugly game!

Patriots rolling over the Redskins
DCbillsfan replied to Sisyphean Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Patriots D looks vulnerable especially in the passing game. They will beat the crap out of the Bills but better teams will hold their own against the Patriots. -
Why did we let Jabari Greer go again?
DCbillsfan replied to VIPP's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills were trying to resign Greer but lost out to Saints. Per Times Picayune 3/4/09: Greer's contract reportedly is worth approximately $23 million (an average of $5.75 annually), according to The National Football Post. Those numbers suggest Greer, 5 feet 11, 180 pounds, likely will be a favorite to win a starting job. He comes to the Saints after starting 23 games the past two seasons as an undrafted free agent with the Bills. He has four career interceptions, including two last season, that he returned for touchdowns. He missed the final six games in 2008 with a knee injury. "I've been traveling non-stop since Friday," said Greer, who also visited Detroit, Tampa Bay and Cleveland. "Everything has worked out wonderfully. I am elated and excited about this opportunity. "After talking to the players (specifically defensive backs Mike McKenzie, Tracy Porter, Roman Harper) and getting their point of views on the team, the coaching staff and the executives upstairs, they had nothing but great things to say. They really believe in this program." Greer, 27, said he is familiar with the type of defense new Saints coordinator Gregg Williams plans to install in New Orleans. Greer spent his first three seasons at Buffalo working under defensive coordinator Jerry Gray, who has a long history coaching with Williams. "Coach Williams has a (defensive) system that I am familiar with," Greer said. "It's a lot of the same terminology and schemes that I feel comfortable with. I know he's a coach that expects a lot out of his players. Having that challenge is exciting to me." The Saints' newest signings have one thing in common: each is extremely fast. Greer, 27, was a standout hurdler at Tennessee, winning the 2003 NCAA Indoor 60-meters championship. -
I didn't like Jauron before he get hired by the Bills. I couldn't understand what Marv Levy saw in the guy. At an absolute minimum, he should have been fired in January 2009. He blew enough games before then to get fired as well.

Here Are Teams That MAY Need QBs Next Year
DCbillsfan replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll give you that the Broncos and Bucs will suck this year. The problem is Jauron sucks too. He is absolutely inept in making gameday decisions and utilizing timeouts which will cost the Bills at least one game perhaps more. Edwards regressed last year as the season progressed. What has he done to instill absolute confidence in him as the # 1 QB? He can't stay healthy ( not necessarily all his fault), doesn't have the strongest arm, isn't terribly mobile, I believe a .500 record (10-10), checks down too early at times, and the Bills only invested a 3rd round pick in him. This upcoming season is a big year for Edwards. I hope he has a great year but if it is more of the same then why not draft a first round QB? A little competition at QB is probably the way to go if Edwards doesn't deliver this year. -
This season is probably a wash and most know it
DCbillsfan replied to Cornerville's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ditto. I left Buffalo over 30 years ago and still follow the Bills. Regardless of how they are playing they are still my team. I wish I had a better vibe going into the season but as a season ticket holder I'll make the journey to Buffalo to cheer them on. Go Bills! -
Very revealing Gaughan article
DCbillsfan replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And it is only the preseason. Wait for when the games count and they start losing badly as quite a few posters have predicted. It will get real ugly then. Ticked off fans, bumbling gameday decisions by Jauron, and an owner who is too cheap to fix the problem. Which makes him part of the problem! Lack of talent, bad Head Coach, and a cheap owner. What a Happy Meal! -
