Good post. I was miffed at the Bills last offseason when they failed to bring in an experienced QB who could seriously compete with Edwards for the starting QB position. Instead they sign Fitz, which I didn't like all that much, and determine before any competition that Edwards is the starter. Edwards has never beaten competition for the starting job. JP stunk the place up in time and they gave it to Edwards and now he has stunk it up in time. I know there are some posters who like JP because he could throw it deep, but to me there is no real difference between JP and Edwards. Hopefully the Bills do their homework and pick the right QB. It's been a long time since they had a good one.

Bills tried to sign Gruden
DCbillsfan replied to In space no one can hear's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If this is true, I find it maddening. I think Gruden would be a good head coach. Finally, Ralph is trying to hire a bonafide coach and he's not interested. -
Where were you and what was your reaction

Jauron is a nice guy and I don't like decent people get screwed but he is/was a lousy coach. Besides he will be making plenty of money the next 2 plus years doing nothing because coaches contracts are guaranteed. Don't feel too sorry for him. The rest of us have to work the next 2 plus years to make ends meet. -
I'm glad they fired Jauron although the timing strikes me as odd. I was concerned that Jauron was going to be here regardless of how bad it got. This may be more of Wilson's mindless bull **** but I think this may be a little different than previous firings and hirings. If he hires another no name or cheap coach he could do irreparable damage to the fan base. I think fans are pretty concerned about Ralphie getting it right this time.

Reuben Brown was awful after his first few years.

Vic Carucci says Bills to make major changes
DCbillsfan replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No experienced, outside observer can identify the Bills PLAN for improvement. I forget his name, but that former GM on the NFL Network has come out and publicly questioned if there even is a plan in place at OBD. As has agent Drew Rosenhaus (agent of TO and Parrish) as of late. Tim Graham over at ESPN commented on exactly the same thing. Now Vic Carucci appears to have something that may prove that Ralph is not brain-dead, after all. I believe you are referring to Mike Lombardi who used to be the GM of the Raiders. -
Slow times here on The Stadium Wall
DCbillsfan replied to Kiwi Bills fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pretty much sums it up. I've been a die hard Bills fan for years. When the Bills lost a game, I would think about that game for a couple of days. Now I turn on the game and I'm falling asleep during the game. Not only are the Bills bad but they have reached a point where they're not even entertaining anymore. I want to follow the team but apathy is really sinking in fast. -
I hear you to a certain point i.e. Edwards and Fitzpatrick aren't getting it done. Losman didn't get it done either. They are all QBs that are not starting material for the NFL. Time to bring in the next hope.

I wonder what Bill will have an off field transgression this upcoming offseason?

Now we know who's been voting for Jauron. You are right. Jauron is not that bad of a coach. He is flat out awful.

Another Possible although not Probable Idea for HC
DCbillsfan replied to IHFO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely not. He is horrible. -
Petition to bench Larry Johnson for using "fag"

Wilson or someone in the front office will have to remove OJ from the wall. I don't think any Bills fan is okay with him on the wall. At the Tampa game the Bills named their all time top 50 players. Thurman was the only RB named to the team. -
Rosenhaus tells it like it is
DCbillsfan replied to DwightSchrute's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You better hope that Jauron gets fired. If he somehow remains HC, he and the FO will say they have confidence in Bell and Butler and blah blah blah. No major free agent signings will occur and they will probably draft someone or some position that nobody likes. -
Plus he knows how to get to the stadium

What's Our FO's Dumbest Move of the 2000's
DCbillsfan replied to BB Fan 4 LIFE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with all of this and would add trading up to get McCargo, trading up to get Losman, along with not having a real GM with football experience. -
I hear you on boredom. I literally fell asleep watching the Bills game. They have been so boring starting with the Cleveland game. Dick ball has reached a new low!

With a few less words he could easily be a mime artist. A mime artist is someone who uses mime as a theatrical medium or as a performance art, involving miming, or the acting out a story through body motions, without use of speech.

A Few Thoughts About The Game
DCbillsfan replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
2) In the long scheme of things it will go unnoticed but not by me. Marshawn ran out of bounds with 4:23 remaining in the game. My contention is that he was not concentrating, and unimpressed I remain. He runs hard and gives great effort but I like Jackson better. Jackson has a better feel for the game. You need two good backs in the NFL today. I wish the Bills would give Jackson more carries. 4) I am asking those of you who think that Bell doesn't suck to please reconsider and let me know what you think, OK? This is probably the thing that drives me the most crazy. Why the Bills didn't draft a legitimate LT in the 2009 draft after trading Peters? Oher is playing rather well for the Ravens. What about the play of Fitzpatrick? He hasn't look great yet he has two wins and is getting Evans involved in the passing game. (TO looks like he is just waiting for the season to end.) I don't think Fitzpatrick is the answer but I'm seriously wondering if Edwards is either. -
Parrish is “finished” in Buffalo
DCbillsfan replied to bills_red's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We do need LBs but San Diego won't trade Merriman. They are hurting themselves at LB. Besides, Merriman is not the same player he was before. Maybe his knee is still healing but either way he's not the same. Hopefully the Bills FO will wake up and take a LB in the draft. -
There are going to be rumors ad nauseum until Jauron gets fired and they name the next HC and whoever else that was fired with Jauron. You may need to go buy a giant vat of glue.
-
And a good draft i.e. talent taken at the correct positions and place in the draft. No frickin reaches and no stinkin' safeties.
-
For the most part, I agree with you. In all seriousness though I think they could lose out the string and finish 1 - 15 just like the 1989 Dallas Cowboys. The Texans are playing pretty well and the phish will beat us again.

Folks, firing Jauron is not the answer
DCbillsfan replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think most fans agree that firing Jauron is only the beginning to what changes need to take place.
