I'm really liking the idea of drafting C/G early in the draft. Maybe a day 2 pick. Drafting a Center could address some immediate issues this upcoming season, as well as, provide a future long term answer at Center. It would likely upgrade one of the Bills guard spots for 2021 on the cheap and provide a backup Center. I'm assuming Feliciano will not be retained. In 2022, the draftee becomes the Center. Per Spotrac, cutting Morse after 2021 would be a $3.75M dead cap hit.

Addison is over 30 so is Hughes. Plus the Bills weren't that good at rushing the passer. Bills are actually young at CB unless you're talking about Safety with Hyde and Poyer. CB is a need. I'm hoping they sign one who will start opposite White.

I think a DE in the 1st or 2nd round will happen.

We don't know all the specifics yet regarding the contract other than a $7M signing bonus and the yearly salaries. It looks like year 1 is about $7M cap hit and year 2 is about a $9M plus a roster bonus. I'd be surprised if the Bills can't get out of it after year 2. Would be about a $3.5M dead cap hit if they did. Looks like they re-signed a good 3 down LB and still have cap space to re-sign Williams or get a TE or a DE. Plus they don't need to draft a LB.

Prospect Watch: Amari Rodgers, WR, Clemson
DCbillsfan replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I haven't watched film on Rodgers yet but your description of his skill set is I believe the direction the Bills want to go. A more dynamic WR who is a threat anytime he touches the ball. -
Nice writeup OP. I like Milano but someone is likely to offer a ridiculous amount of money for him. So I believe Milano is gone. Williams could be offered some serious money as well but I think Beane will come through here. The Bills have nobody behind Williams so for me it's the top priority. I could also see the Bills drafting an OL guy early in the draft.

Nice effort OP. I believe Bills need to upgrade their OL. I don't see Bills bringing back Winters and Nyseke. Winters just isn't that good and Nyseke is 35 or so. Regarding Feliciano. I like his grit but he's not very talented. He's really not a starting guard. Maybe sign him to be backup IOL. Regarding Morse. He makes a lot of money, hasn't played at a level commensurate with his pay, and has a concussion history. That all said, I think he's a Bill next season. The Bills have higher priorities to address. I would try to re-sign Williams but that might be tough from a dollar standpoint. If Bills re-sign Williams, I'd draft a Center to play guard in 2021 and Center in 2022. Have Ford, Boettger, and possibly Feliciano compete for other guard spot. If Bills don't/can't re-sign Williams, I'd sign an OG in free agency who's a proven starter and then draft an OT early in the draft to play RT. The Bills have needs at CB, TE, DE among others but I believe they need to prioritize protecting Allen and try to upgrade running game. Lack of running game hurts them inside the red zone.

Source: LB Matt Milano looking for “top dollar” in FA
DCbillsfan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My guess is the Bills decided Milano is not a gotta keep player regardless of the cost. So they decided to let him get an offer or two and then circle back to the Bills and see what they are willing to offer him. It reminds me of Shaq Lawson last year. The Bills wanted Shaq back but were only willing to go so high and Miami offered him more money. Milano is likely leaving because some team will offer him a contract that Bills can't/won't match. -
I see this Bills' offseason as very intriguing for a team that made it to the AFC Championship game. Usually teams that make it that far, stand pat for the most part, and add the so called one player to get them over the top. I don't see the Bills standing pat. I'd like them to create some cap space and get a DE who is a difference maker. They also have 14 UFAs which indicates some roster churn especially with the cap going down this year. Feliciano wanting to come back is no real surprise. He was a backup guard with the Raiders and is a starter here. I see Feliciano as a backup IOL guy. They need to get bigger and stronger at guard.

Bills TE Lee Smith is contemplating retirement
DCbillsfan replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He probably wants to leave on his terms. If the Bills cut him, he's unlikely to be signed by another team. His chances of sticking with the Bills are real low imo. Plus, the Bills will save $2.5 M if they cut him. Good luck Lee. -

This sums up the situation re Milano. The Bills re-signed White CB1 and Dawkins LT which left Milano on the outside looking in. This is the way the NFL works now. Good luck to Milano. -
Perhaps another team wanted Stafford which drove up the price? We will have to disagree on the trade. I think Stafford is much better than Goff.
-
I don't believe the Rams gave up too much. They'll most likely make the playoffs the next 2 years, so their traded first rounds picks will likely be in the mid 20s or so. Plus Goff had a big contract number that needed to be offset.

I hope Star and Ford have both been powerlifting
DCbillsfan replied to TheBeaneBandit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As fans, we never know what issues a player may be going through off the field, but as a fan I must admit, Ford's play does not inspire me. At RT, he's too slow footed to move laterally with a DE and gets beat regularly. At Guard, he doesn't possess the necessary strength to anchor or push his man back. IIRC Ford was described as a mauler with a nasty streak who plays to the echo of the whistle. I haven't seen any of that plus he can't stay healthy. 2021 is a big year for Ford. -

Purdue WR. One full season. Some injury history. -
Brandon Beane end of season press conference 1/27 11am
DCbillsfan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe the lack of a running game hurt the Bills in the playoffs especially down in the red zone. If they ran the ball better, it would pressure the defense more. I want the Bills to throw the ball but there are instances in a game where they should run it.
