Wild Card: early game Baltimore at Tenn 1:05 on ESPN
Magox replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The most nationally anticipated showdown of the weekend. -
I just saw an interesting stat. Indianapolis had 474 yards and no turnovers. Only 11 other teams in the playoffs had ever done that and their record was 11-0. Make that 11-1. Also, if it weren’t for the fear of what Buffalos offense particularly Josh Allen and the way he was making these incredible improvisational plays Reich wouldn’t have been so aggressive with his play calls that back fired.
-
Rest will do this team well. Hopefully we play a Sunday game, either way all teams are banged up and the Bills are relatively healthy and having the additional day of rest over our opponents will serve us well.

This is what I’ve been saying. Their offensive game plan and execution was better than our defensive gameplay and execution except in the red zone. That and Josh Allen was the difference in the game. The Colts proved that they are one of the most balanced teams in the NFL and defeating their A game in the playoffs in a close hard fought game should benefit Buffalo moving forward.

Yeah, I also have been very high on Daboll for the past couple years and especially so this year. I was surprised that they ran the ball as much as they did and personally I don’t think they went for the jugular as much as they should have with the lead. I was telling my brother that it appeared they were trying to win it the old fashioned way of eating the clock to win with the run. That played into the Colts strength. I suspect he will review things and try to open it up more so next game. With that said it was the defense that performed worse than the offense. The Colts shredded the Bills with those two TD drives way too easily. That should have never have happened. The offense kept giving the defense extended two score leads and the defense just kept allowing them to score to make it a 1 score game.

As Impressed as I was with Williams I think they go with the player they trust the most. Who they trust with the blocking assignments, trust not to fumble the ball, trust with who won’t drop the ball when thrown at him.

Definitely very disappointing third down defense today. They can't expect to keep winning if they are giving up that high of a 3rd down rate. Josh Allen carried the win with his playmaking ability.

Just watching these QB's makes me feel thankful that we have Allen.

Three Colts that helped swing the game to the Bills today
Magox replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was the prevailing thought that in order for the Colts to win they’d have to score TD’s and not field goals. They were aggressive and fell short on some of those calls. They had a hell of a game plan and their O and D line executed better than our line. Rivers was very solid and they played the game that they needed to have a chance at winning and they almost did. Cant take anything away from them, they proved themselves to be a very tough team, the problem for them is that we have Josh Allen and that was the difference. -

As much as the Bills were dominating their opponents over the past 6 weeks I think getting a very close hard fought win in the playoffs against a team that executed the exact sort of game plan that is ideal to beat the Bills will serve us very well. I think Daboll will come out with more of a passing plan next week and hopefully the defense can handle the play action much better than it did today. -
Their front 4 was getting decent pressure and they disguised their blitzes well. They were getting good pressure when they did blitz.

He will learn from that play and yes he was awesome today. He makes these difficult plays look routine and we sometimes take that for granted.

Bills 27, Colts 24 Game Balls!!!! Playoff win baby!!!!!

Allen Diggs Gabe Beasley Bass Tremaine -
I don't care how the win happened, we win! We Win and continue! The Colts played a hell of a game and had the exact game plan that they needed. We pulled through and that is all that matters. And the refs almost screwed us. That was a damn fumble and it wasn't even close.

Colts Running Game could limit Bills offense
Magox replied to ProcessTruster's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Buffalo is going to open it up and I expect to see lots of 4 - 5 Receiver sets throughout the game. I wouldn’t be surprised if they throw the ball 80% of the game. Just hammer at their weakness with all sort of looks and stay away from their strength their run defense. -
On offense It’s always Josh Allen. All day every day. Defensively I think Tremaine is a good choice. I’m fairly certain they will be running and throwing a lot of short and intermediary passes. Tremaine will be very important to the success of the defense tomorrow.

The Duke hate is overboard on this board and definitely is not shared by the fan base. The guy plays hard and has endeared himself with the fan base and can make contested catches. Don’t get me wrong, he doesn’t deserve to be on the regular starting roster but I have no problem with him getting some call ups in a next man up situation.

It's great that they are super loose. I remember the Bills during their 4 Super Bowl losses and Jim Kelly would come running out of the tunnel and it looked like he had just thrown up with the cold sweats, whereas the Cowboys looked loose as hell. This team is loose, they have swag and there is no way in hell that during practice that they weren't focused with the task at hand. This team knows what is at stake.

Well deserved for the best quick twitch route runner in the league.

Colts Running Game could limit Bills offense
Magox replied to ProcessTruster's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think they are gonna try to pound the rock and use the short/intermediate pass game to limit possessions. And even though they don’t blitz often I would expect them to blitz much more often than they normally do to speed up Josh Allen’s internal clock to try to force some negative plays, TO’s and to get them off the field. I don’t see how they just go with a typical 4 man rush throughout the game, they’ll get carved up if they do. One thing to have the game plan it’s another to effectively execute it. Buffalo should sell out to stop the run and the short intermediate game. If they give up a big play or two they can handle that. The bigger risk is Indianapolis scoring touchdowns while eating clock. Also plan against their varying blitz packages that they have shown. -
Some executives view Allen as preferable to Mahomes long term
Magox replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Bills win the superbowl I would imagine that close to half of the NFL's executives would feel the same way. What Josh has been doing over the past month is some of the best QB play that I have ever seen from a Bill QB. This uber confidence from the fans is not just because of the 13-3 record, let's call a spade a spade. It's because of Josh Allen. What he has done is nothing short of phenomenal and he gives this organization and fans tremendous confidence not only for this post season but for the next 10-20 years.
