Funny you mention that, I was thinking that the Bills game plan vs the Ravens if it gets to that should be to play 3 LB formations and use Dorian as the spy against Lamar. He’s a see and run sort of player, he wouldn’t be exposed to his biggest weakness which is dropping back into coverage, serves as a third and beefed up player against the run and he’s the most athletic out of the linebackers which is best suited to pursue Lamar. I think a 5 man rush with the spy against Lamar can be effective

The idea that McDermott is remotely close to any sort of a hot seat no matter what the outcome is delusional. You may think he shouldn’t be the coach but he isn’t going anywhere. He bleeds for the city, ownership trusts him, the players love him and he’s had lots of success. Yes, I would love for him to be better in the playoffs and my hopes are that he will but he ain’t going anywhere. Secondly, I think the Bills should do lots of blitzing, specially on first down. Force him into some hurried throws early on and get them into lots of third downs. They don’t have a particularly strong ground game and I think in order for Denver to put up a good offensive game they would need to be successful with their first downs and that is the downs to attack them. They do lots of bootlegs, attack the QB with the ends on those plays that appear to be handing it off to the back. Lots of exotic pressures throughout the game, force lots of third downs and with all the crowd noise it should lead to stops.

I think you’ll see Von play anywhere between 30% - 50% of the snaps, just depends what sort of situations the game presents. The Broncos have two good tackles that will present a challenge. He is beating guys with speed and leverage, he’s rounding into form right at the right time. Rousseau will have to step up and so will Oliver, those three will need to play well to have any chance at taking this the distance

It would be thin but you do have a returning Soloman, and they could sign a jag to go along with the ends. Personally, I’m good with not making any splash moves but if they did do one, a player like Garrett would be the one I’d make a move for.

Just like most online debates, they devolve to these black or white sort of arguments which in this case one side argues which is the more predominant one on this message board that Buffalo’s offensive talent outside of Josh Allen is bottom tier and then there is this other argument that Buffalo has near top talent. Neither are true - Buffalo’s offensive line is top 5, which has the luxury of having possibly the best Offensive tackle tandem in the league and a decent interior 3. - Buffalo’s tight end tandem is at a top 6 unit in the league - Buffalo’s trio of RB’s and fullback in Gilliam is a top 10 unit. - Buffalo’s WR’s with Amari as the starting X, Coleman as the Z, Shakir as the Y/slot, Mack Hollins as the #4 that is deployed a lot and Samuels as the #5 is probably a 15-20 range unit. Not counting Allen it’s probably a 10-12 range talent unit. The team has a bad reputation of being devoid in talent and for Allen’s MVP purposes it better suits his case. But they are better than what most people give them credit for, including many on this board.

I was in the camp of not being extending Cook simply for the fact that there are a lot of good players we need to bring back but my thought has changed. Cook is showing himself to not just be a good back but a dynamic playmaking one and playmakers come at a premium. The pay trend had been to not pay RB’s but the pendulum swung too much against paying RB’s and that trend this past year had finally broken, albeit at a modest level. They are still relatively underpaid and teams that decided to let their RB’s walk paid the price this year, (Saquon, Henry, Mixon and Jacobs). RB’s will begin to start getting paid higher compensation than what we had seen in the recent past and if we can get Cook at around $10-$12m a year then I’d be all over it. The cap will continue to rise nicely over the next few years with all the new streaming deals and record viewership and there are guys that we will be able to not count that much against the cap two years from now (Miller, Samuels, Daquan, Knox not to mention Diggs). I don’t think the Bills need to make any splash moves in FA, just retain the guys you drafted that you believe in and continue to draft well. The Bills have the luxury of lots of premium draft picks to continue to build this team.

I keep hearing this argument about not wanting the Pats to have the 1st overall pick. Doesn't make all that much sense to me, it's not as if they are going after a QB, they already have their guy in Maye (Who I believe is going to be a problem). They are most likely going to trade back and get more draft picks. They want Offensive tackles and WR's.

Milano could use the reps. He’s playing better but his recognition at times is still a hair off. The only way to improve that is by getting more reps. He and Bishop should play about half the game.

First thing that will need to happen is that the Bills score near 30+ per game. This defense will not be a sort of defense to shut down good opposing offenses, they will give up yards. However, we do have lots of players who are capable of making plays, we get tons of turnovers and in order to win against the top offenses we will need to get some sacks, forced fumbles, int’s and some tackles for losses. Need to force a few stops a games and FG attempts. If the Bills can do that defensively while still scoring points than the Bills can beat anyone. Also, the Bills defense has been playing with 3 Lb’s more often and I fully expect to see that in action a lot vs the Ravens if we play them. I also think you will see Babich dial up more blitzes and exotic pass pressures than we’ve seen.

What I really love about this pass blocking unit is how they are beginning to employ the ***** trap block technique. It used to be that the only lineman I'd see use it often was Dawkins, but I've noticed that his usage of that technique has increased. Then I began seeing Spencer Brown begin to use it and he's been using it more often as well. Now I'm seeing that O'Cyrus Torrence beginning to use it. Such a powerful and helpful technique that not only helps the lineman with that particular play but it also makes defenders think twice on how they attack the lineman.

From watching the Cover 1 Breakdown, I think Milano is getting close. Some of those missed plays are just very slight hesitations that leads to having those missed tackles. It appears that if his processing can speed up just a tad, he'll be really close to where he was. He should definitely play a lot this week against the Patriots.
