  1. I don't think they're that good.
  2. 2 possessions, 2 turnovers. Nice.
  3. Who was that in Keith Ellison's uniform?
  4. I think that the term had lost significance over the last 30 years of so, but Bolt has revived it. He is The Worlds Fastest Man.
  5. I agree... and obviously neither is Nelson. It'll be Fine or Stupar, no question. Also, I don't see how Kelsay can be cut until we have a promising substitute for him. Who is that? Maybin just started practicing in the NFL and Denney is no better than Kelsay. Maybe next year if Maybin shows that he can become at least a part time starter.
  6. Forgive your enemies. It messes with their minds.
  7. Good questions. DE: I think we keep 5, because Maybin's contribution will be limited to obvious passing situations early on. Either Ellis or Bryan will go, I think it'll be Ellis. Just my gut, but I think the reports on his strong performance are largely exaggerated. Yes he improved from last year, but that's not saying very much. S: Easy, Simpson and Wendling are gone. RB: Very trick, especially considering that Lynch will miss the first 3 games. If they cut anyone, it'll be Oman or Rhodes. I think that they keep all 5. TE: None of them are legitimate starters, so you definitely cut one. Fine and Stupar are neck and neck. I say it's Fine that get's cut.
  8. I appreciate your intent, but didn't the Bills lose to Jacksonville in the playoffs at home in 1996?
  9. The Cardinals are undefeated in the U of Phoenix Stadium in the playoffs too. I would think that the best way to evaluate home field advantage is to look at the difference between a teams home and away record. What kind of edge does playing at home produce?
  10. That's not what happened to Patrick Kane either. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=4412205
  11. I think that this is the key. If Kelsay and Denney essentially provide the same thing, then cut the guy with the bigger salary. The Bills front office will be on board with this too. All this being said, I think that Ellis will be the one to go. Just a hunch.
  12. Dick Jauron has been a head coach for all or part of 10 NFL seasons. That's a career for most coaches. His career record is 57 - 76. He has had 1 winning season and 9 losing seasons. He made the playoffs once and lost in the first round. He is a loser, by definition. I don't understand what magical evolution his supporters are waiting for. Chances are that if he does have a winning season, then that is the aberration not the 10 seasons before. It always amazes me how much having been a head coach before counts when teams are looking at HC candidates. It doesn't really seem to matter if you are successful or not... but I digress.
  13. Gaddis will not make the team, if that's what the is about...
  14. I don't think so. The usual thinking is not to disrupt two positions due to an injury at one. If a guard is hurt, I think that McKinney or Chambers comes in to play guard. If it's the center, then Wood to center and McKinney/Chambers at guard. Based on his play last season, I think that Chambers is a decent backup at both guard and tackle. I don't know about McKinney. We'll have to see how he does if he ever gets in there in a real game.
  15. Funny. I noticed the same thing...
  16. That's what I saw too.
  17. Walker is not a strong run blocker. That's ok though. As long as he can protect Trent's blind side in the passing game the Bills can focus on running it between the tackles behind Levitre, Hamgartner and Wood. Overall, the running game may not be that strong though...
  18. In the current league I would say 1) Belichick 2) Fisher 3) Coughlin 4) Tomlin 5) Reid A Hall of Fame QB certainly helps, but I can think of a few HOF coaches without HOF QBs: Joe Gibbs Bud Grant John Madden George Halas George Allen Dick Vermeil (Warner has a chance though...)
  19. Very good defensive coach. Good organizer and decent leader. OK with cheating if it helps him win. Lucky to find a HOF QB, which turned his record around and probably made his career. On the other hand he knew what to do with Brady when he got him and allowed the offense to develop around him. He's definitely top 10 in today's game, not top ten all time though by any stretch.
  20. He should talk more about the game and less about off the field issues.
  21. Why are the commentators on TV saying that this is "shocking"? It makes perfect sense to me. Vick is not the starting QB, McNabb is. If Vick works his way back into starting form, then he can provide an option to McNabb when his contract expires.
  22. Now you're making some sense!
  23. Yup. He needs to see some action against some better players, but he beat up on the 3rd stringers...
