Yeah, I'm pretty much endlessly optimistic, but other than I'm not as down on Allen or Clay as others, there's not much good to take away from this game. Running game looked good. Tremaine Edmunds looked like he made some progress in his reads. Levi Wallace had a few great special teams plays. Barring something miraculous, it's hard to see a good start. However, until the games mean something, who really knows?

Oh geez. Because people are saying maybe not discounting a rookie QB because of a pre-season game where the o-line played about as poorly as possible? It's not saying a team can do no wrong. FWIW, I howled with frustration after the Allen pick, but until today he's looked like a leader who deserved a chance to start from Day 1, and frankly I just didn't see anything to evaluate either way (it's hard to tell whether he was hesitant b/c he had no one to throw to or because he was not reading the defense well. Right now, I'm not overly confident about any QB as a starter and only real hope is that they had a bad day and somehow adjust for the season. I'm generally pretty positive, but if the last two weeks are any indication: yes, it will be a pretty rough start to the season. However, a lot of teams had very bad game 3s, so personally I'm gonna focus on my fantasy draft, manage my expectations and see what happens against the Ravens.

I hear you, but I'd be curious to see what close analysis shows, since the announcers were saying that the receivers were not getting separation. However, I would say that if anyone won the competition, it's Peterman. I don't feel overly confident about that, but good on him for his play in the snow game and this pre-season.

You know, I'll wait for someone like Cover1's analysis. I hated the Allen pick, but he's done a lot of hopeful things since he got here and calling him out for a first half when he was on the run on almost every play is a bit over the top. Frankly, he looked about as good as he possibly could. Maybe Tyrod would have run away from them. I loved Tyrod, but he had some truly moribund outings last year. My main concern is the line and hopefully they can do some things to adjust that.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'd go Allen. He might benefit from the adversity and put up some numbers in the second half. He just doesn't seem like he'd be mentally broken, and he's the most elusive of the 3. But he didn't win the job, so I'm open for whatever as a fan. Also, RAFAEL BUSH!!!! (better runner than the other Bush )

Ha, no (although at that point i might be looking into if the jets really will trade bridgewater in the division). Frankly, Peterman did win something back by his strong performance in the snow game, and he's looked good in pre-season, but there was something (and i'll admit this may not be fair) tentative about his performance last week. If Allen looks truly bad, Peterman deserves a shot. I'd feel way more confident about the future, however, if Allen grabs the reins this week. If he's managed to earn the starting job this quickly after all the question marks (i was very vocal about not drafting him and am excited that he seems to be proving me dumb so far), that's a good sign for his future and the Bills' future.
