  1. It's funny you mention Leaf...the guy who was picked just ahead of him -- his first four games' qbr: 58.6, 51.1, 39.3, 63.2...he had 3 tds & 11 ints and was 0-4. He got better!
  2. The ceiling is the dream. Also, great song, great video.
  3. If he's not trying to win, how's he really developing? As with last year, it's a rebuilding year where we still try to win. It looks likely we have a very strong defense, and one that plays better in the second half (in no game have they given up more than 7 in second half). It would be silly to not try to win.
  4. The way announcers are talking you'd think Titans are up 14-0
  5. It's sort of hinted in the piece, but a big part of it is his leadership at such an early stage of his career, and the fact that as he has looked more confident as the captain of the D, the whole unit has played better (and not just better, but have played like a top defense).
  6. There also might be the factor that in the past, these rankings HAVE actually moved the Bills up for the 5-2 start only to watch them fall hard, so there might be a "won't be fooled again" factor to all of this that persists even after last year when they did collapse, but pulled out of it to become one of the top 12 by playoff status.
  7. True, but to act as if they did not just win a game against the expected NFC champion on the road and write as if they have been playing consistently badly all year is just, well, lazy, and not a little ridiculous.
  8. I agree, but two consecutive bad games by Tom Brady is something new.
  9. Ok, who jinxed the O-line.
  10. I was against it...in the early going, I'm looking wrong and am so glad for it!
  11. Agreed on both counts. Last year he was great with the insightful comments, but he was so stiff and awkward...he's improved on that quickly.
  12. We should retire his number!
  13. We have almost 100 million under the cap next year; I'm sure we could figure something out, but yes, it's probably not a smart cap move for what they are trying to do. Unless he's going for a not-1st round draft pick, I wouldn't trade either.
  14. If Allen, White, and Edmunds all hit, they won that deal running away. Two games into both Allen and Mahomes' season might be a tad premature.
  15. Just wrote to some fellow fans that I thought Allen would either have a breakout game or a breakdown game, so since I picked the Bills as the biggest upset of the season so far, I'll go with the former... 20/29 325 2 TD, 1 INT, 4 sacks, 39 yards rushing
  16. What the hell, 23-14 Bills. As Joachin Andujar said "there's one word in America that says it all, and that one word is 'you never know'." Allen proves a quick study, even as the O-Line stays a mess, while the D builds from last week (pass rush picks up -- they were starting to get some good pressures in the second half -- somehow, someone steps up as second cornerback and also comes out of the locker room after halftime). It' a coming out party for the whole 2018 draft.
  17. Beyond the fact that he's a rookie who had a couple touchdown drives against a good defense at a point where many QBs would have floundered, Ledyard's whole zeal for tearing a rookie's first game apart is less than endearing. While I fully understand why it's happening and it very well could be a disastrous season, I'm not all in for this all-time bad team/trainwreck narrative. Hopefully, the team will give me (and others who haven't abandoned all hope) something more than one second half against the Chargers to back up that side of the story.
  18. You might not be trading back that far...or may have to trade up. The Raiders look like a big ol' mess themselves.
  19. We have 10 picks and almost 100m in cap space. If any QBs surprise and stand out in this class, I'm actually all for trading down b/c you can get a bounty, but not for that reason.
  20. It's in Revelations, peeeeeeeeeople!!!!
  21. You know, I'm quite positive, but at the end of that game, I had to admit, if the power rankings have us 32, it's now earned. Hopefully, this week they earn more respect.
  22. The Bills also could have curled up into a ball as prior Bills did, you play the teams you played and if you want a trend: the Bills defense held the opposing team to less than its yearlong average in 12 out of 17 games last year. This year they are probably 0-1 as I doubt the Ravens average more than 47 ppg. For the record: the trend that concerned me is the run defense went significantly south post-Dareus and stayed that way in seven-game streak. They gave up roughly 85 ypg in first 6 games, and even excluding the 3-game streak and including the game before it when they gave up only 55, they averaged 135. You said earlier you were usually a "glass half full" guy...obviously I am, but I don't see the glass as anything but shattered and on the floor right now. I'm just giving Allen the benefit of the doubt that he can help rally the rest of the team to sweep up the shards, try not to get cut or miss a block along the way, and find a better glass with less poison in it. I can see this team going 2-14, and can see the defense not performing as well as I expect it to, but also can see a turnaround b/c that happens.
  23. Sure, fine. No team in the past is exactly like any other team in the past. Therefore, we agree that we don't know how this team will react in the next game.
